Well, it will soon begin. Last year was a tough one for me. Only a few and they were all late drops.

I do know of one nice 5 point side already picked up this year but the deer was wounded during bow season. We seen a few other bucks really beat up from the rut. My guess is we will see a couple of these bucks shed soon but this is only a few of them. I am getting cameras ready to go out and looking forward to see what made it through the hunting season.

No snow as of now should make them easy to see this year. I am terrible at shed hunting, but there is one buck I would like to find his head gear, I seen him in the field the other night so I know he made it through the late season.

Glenn, I read those wolves are more into Elk antlers. However that is debatable..

I thought they preferred moose knuckles and camel toes.

Not really sheds, but I have seen more very large heads since the seasons closed than during the season. I saw one the other night that was tall and very full, great mass on the beams. He watched me drive by even after I slowed thinking he might bolt across the road. I have a space that that rack would fit in nicely, but he’s still on the lam. This deer was between home and the grocery store a mile away and on city streets.

One field on my way home last night had at least 75 deer on it. Should throw some binos in the truck and see whats out there.

I know exactly the field you drove by. I just called the DNR and told them it’s where they should relocate a wolf pack.

They must have acted quick there was only about 35-40 last night.

I figured someone needs to add a pic of a antler to this thread. Here’s the dogs reward from tonight’s walk in a bean field.

Had 11 deer walk through the yard yesterday evening before dark. 2 looked like bucks from body shape. No antlers and too far to see testicles. I’m a whimp, if it’s too cold for squirrels to be out, too cold for me these days

After having the dog inside for a couple days it was time to get him out for a walk. I love the brutal cold for walking in the woods, but the dog is a wimp! Most bucks on camera were still holding as of a week ago including this one.

I seen 3 with antlers last night. The only 3 that were close enough to road to tell.

I had 5 bucks on the camera last week. One of the young guys lost a spike side. That seemed odd for a young one to drop so soon but maybe not?…

All 5 of the 3-4 year old 10’s at the main farm I hunt are still holding as of a couple days ago. No where near enough antlers on the ground to really get after it, soon though.

This extreme cold should help get those antlers to pop. I know we will be running the atv and dog to the farm at some point this weekend to browse around.

We have had numerous half racks running around. I won’t step foot on the farm until the end of February. Hoping to keep them on the farm.

    Quick 5 minute walk today.
Most of them are still holding but I’ve seen a couple the last few days that are missing 1 side. Pretty early yet to look very hard but was nice to find this.

Glenn when I was in Cold Spring on Saturday you were the only place on our 1:45hr drive that had snow on the ground.

[/quote] i filled up with gas this afternoon for my trip north in the morning. The owner of the station was up in that area, he said there is about 8 -10 inches up there
