Does anybody think the Pohlads understand how ugly this season could get?

Why would they care? this season’s outcome isn’t going to effect the price somebody pays for the team. I’m honestly a bit surprised the kept the payroll where its at…

Jim’s more focused on how he can still run this shyt-show after it’s sold. Don’t the rest of the family want to get out of baseball sooner than later or are they all hell bent on getting $1.7 billion?

I’m sure the Twins will be handing out hand warmers also to add to the $425 million debt.
I don’t understand how the Twins can be in debt. Their reported revenues are usually more than double the payroll. Are they taking money from the Twins to shore up other businesses?

It’s debateable on whether the Twins are actually for sale. I have plenty of stuff I would sell if somebody wanted to over-pay for it but to sell at fair market value I would just hang onto them.

Talking the talk & walking the walk are two different things.

In the meantime the quest for an empty stadium and 12 TV packages sold continues.

The Pohlads are just a disgrace at this point. Just sell the team and go the h/ll away. Please.

Could Correa and Buxton be any colder to start the season?

I paid the $99 yearly package deal two days before and now it’s free. MLB told me they would get back to me on the refund. Overseas operators you can’t understand really pss me off. What a screwed up mess, and for me it’s not over.

Why have an outfielder play in the outfield when you can have Mickey Gasper (listed as an infielder on the roster) out there?

ESPN has the top 100 and we have one at #62. Carlos Correa and he does not have a hit this year. 3 teams did not have a player in the top 100. White Sox, Rockies and Nationals.

Take anything coming out of ESPN with a grain of salt. The only thing that matters beyond winning is how many players would the Twins get serious calls on if they put everybody on the trading block? Correa, Buxton, Lewis, likely Jeffers maybe Castro. Lopez, Ober, Ryan, Jax, Duran for pitchers for sure. Will they make many top 100 lists, no but that doesn’t mean they aren’t decent players or in Jeffers and Castros cases be valued for more than their bats. The cupboard is not bare.

    My opinion only.

Bader hit his 3rd homerun today. A 3 run shot in the 6-1 win over the White Sux. The first series win. Twins vs the Astro’s tomorrow for the home opener. Lets hope the weather sucks but it’s good enough to play. A crowd of about 7,000 seems about right. grin

Loss the home opener 5-2 after taking a 2-0 lead in the first. They claim 36,000 in attendence / tickets sold. That number has to be grossly padded.

Anyone else ready to move on from Buxton, Lewis and Correa?

Buxton and Correa are the easy ones. Both should get moved at the deadline.

Lewis is the hard one. Hate to give up on him at age 25, but you can’t count on him being the face of the franchise moving forward when he pulls up lame every few weeks..

No. I remember the Twins when they had bad shortstops. For me Correa can hit .250 if his defense holds up. Buxton they don’t pay anything for comparitively, Lewis is depressing but you can’t really give up on a talent like that. Plus he doesn’t make any money yet either. They need a legit bopper at DH or first base. I also don’t like Larnach & Wallner in the outfield at the same time.

Correa is a good player who would be a solid piece of a contending team but is 30 years old and we’re several players away from contending IMO (for real, not just to make the playoffs). And he’s making 33M/per. If we’re middling along in July I wouldn’t mind moving him for some good prospects. Probably a limited number of teams that would take on that contract though. Buxton (age 31) of course is not leading us anywhere but no one is going to give up anything good for him. Royce is too young and too cheap to give up on yet.

Wait, it’s free now? I thought you had to pay the $99 to get the stream. Do you have an upgraded cable package so you get the TV channel?

I think it’s “free” with Directv & cable packages. Or you can just get the Twins thing for 19.99 a month or 100 for the season. Nobody has said if play-offs would be included tho. Channel 9 is broadcasting a few games free and the Twinks are on NBC a couple times also.

In any event if you can live with radio don’t pour a nickle into the Twins until the ink is dry on the sale papers. It’s the least we can do to reward the Pohlads for their loyalty to us as fans. jester
