I agree. Tough task for the Bills. They are the only team this season who beat the Chiefs AND the Lions though. They have been good for a few years now and deserve a crack at it.

There’s a reason the NFL put the Ravens/Bills in the best time slot on Sunday evening. Its going to be fireworks.

The forecast could play a role. Its supposed to be about 8 degrees with snow flurries.

A Detroit/Buffalo Super Bowl would be a great thing for the sport. Not sure who I’d route for, I have a lot of respect for both teams these last few years. Bugs me that Detroit may get a Superbowl win before the Vikes, but can’t say a lot of bad things about that team. Buffalo probably deserves it more from an historical perspective. They’ve had a some SOLID teams over the years (and some embarrassingly bad ones). Detroit’s just pretty much always sucked, except for a small glimmer during the Barry Sanders era. But it would be a breath of fresh air from a KC re-run, they’re about as annoying of the mid-2000’s-2010’s Patriots.

I rooted for buffalo in all 3 of their super bowls and would like to see them finally win it.

Detroit can pound sand as far as I’m concerned. I hope they join MN in an ever-failing quest for a Super Bowl, I hope Dan Campbell chokes on his cheerios, and I’ll be happy if the bears never win another game. I don’t understand how a diehard fan of any team can root for a division rival to succeed. No thanks!

Ha! this is funny. Maybe I used to be this bitter but I’m just not that emotionally wrapped up in it as some, I guess. I love football – especially GOOD football. The fact that the Lions are in our division has nothing to do with it. I wouldn’t be routing for the Packers or Bears, but it’s all situational – I routed for the Chiefs when they started their run, again – a well-run franchise that deserved to succeed. But it’s time for change. The Lions redefining the game, they’re charismatic without a lot of ego (by that I mean destructive me-first personalities), they get the best out of their 3rd string guys – it’s SO rare. They deserve anything good that’s coming to them if Campbell doesn’t gamble it away – which is their biggest weakness.

Oh it’s got zero to do with bitterness and I’m not emotional about the game in the least. It just makes me chuckle to see Vikings fans and lions fans and bears fans suffer. It’s part of the fun. I get to suffer at the end of most seasons too and I wouldn’t expect any Vikings or lions fan to feel bad for me.

Its getting harder and harder to root for the Lions. After their dirty play and how the fans treat opponent fans at games most notably Vikings players wives/girlfriends is disgraceful and rivals Eagles fans which we can all agree they are the worst. I think that gap is closing.

Cam Bynum or Byron Murphy Jr. I think only one of them comes back next year. I thought both guys were excellent this year, but give me Byron Murphy for an extension.

Because Detroit has never been our rival. And even now I would say they aren’t either, just the other direction, given KOC is 1-5 vs Campbell. MLF is 1-6, so I wouldn’t say the Cheese is a rival either since you can’t compete with them, or the entire division given the 1-5 record this year that was saved by a blocked kick from an 0-fer.

As a red blooded American I like anybody/team etc. that can take beatings for years, suffer the worst there is to offer, and come out the other side as a champion. So, I’ll be rooting for Bills-Lions Super Bowl as well!

Why only one? With Harry most likely retiring Cam might be more important.

Hard not to root for the Lions from here on out for several reasons. For those in our division, we know better than most the struggles the lions have had over the last few decades making their current teams run even more admirable. Its fun to watch a game coached by Dan Campbell. I love his play calling and risk taking.

Also, if all 3 NFC north playoff teams bust in the playoffs, it doesn’t look great for our so called “strong” division. I’m a die hard vikings fan but will root for detroit from here on out with no second thoughts. Plus – I can’t think of anyone else left in the playoffs that I feel is more deserving of a ring than the Lions.

Also, for you packer fans/vikings haters that like to stir the pot in these threads; I know we haven’t won a superbowl. I know we choke in the playoffs. The vikings are still my team and I’m not a bandwagon fan. Any of the “dA qUeEnS hAvE nEvEr WoN a SuPeRbOwL” comments are laughable to me. As I stated – I’m well aware and won’t pretend I don’t know that. However, I live in the present, not the past. And I love my team, no matter how many times they choke in the playoffs. I love Minnesota and everything about it. Haters can go pound sand.

Replacing the hitman is going to be difficult. He’s been an extremely productive and reliable defender for many years as a viking.

I saw Vikings jerseys on sale at Target today. The only problem with them is that the neck hole is too small. If you put it on, you choke.

I would love both of them back. I’m not sure how cap space will be allocated, but interior O-Line is a must.

KOC has agreed to a new multi year contract extension. The terms have not yet been disclosed.

As it should be… He’s a smart coach and he’s still very young. There’s a lot to be proud of considering the year we were supposed to have. There’s also CLEAR areas for improvement but I’m as confident in him as anyone that he will figure it out and the Wilfs have created a culture of winning that KOC can thrive in. There’s a lot of bad coaches out there, I think we’re pretty fortunate.

It looks like KOC won coach of the year last night? (I’m not sure how many award shows there are and if this was the NFL’s main one?)

pretty cool and glad he beat out Sean Peyton and the Lions coach…
