We should have saved that CJ Ham pass play for after the 2 minute warning

Jaire was good prior to his contract and getting paid. Now he is just an expensive yard ornament much like Bahktiari was in his later years.

    Out or unlikely to play:

    Quay Walker
    Jaire Alexander
    Javon Bullard
    Evan Williams
    Christian Watson

Packers down 4 defensive starters including 3 in the secondary makes for an uphill battle on the road.

The Vikings are clinging to hope of a #1 seed and have the healthier squad playing at home. The Packers are mostly locked in between one of 2 wild card seeds. I wouldn’t be shocked to see them pull a few starters if things get lop sided or if any key players get dinged up a bit.

I’m sticking with my 27-23 prediction in favor of the Queens, but could see it being a bit more of a spread

    ^not too far off.

Roughly what I expected. Packers don’t have the right guys healthy on the back end to slow down this offense unless they could get to Darnold without blitzing (which they couldn’t)

Great moral victory for the Packers.

Look up ugly win in the dictionary and you will see a picture of the Vikings. Sure wish they would learn how to put a team away late in a game.

Now we can talk about it. If they win in Detroit they are the #1 seed. If they lose they will be #5.

    This according to NBC.

I texted my buddies that he should make the Pro Bowl based on that catch alone.

Darnold seemed off just a bit, but then again threw for a career high 377 yards plus 3 TDs.

That 2nd missed field goal was a pretty substantial momentum changer in today’s game.

Now that the Vikings have won, do the Lions have anything to play for in San Fran tomorrow night? Win or lose that, they need to win in week 18 to ensure the division and the top seed.

I could see them completely sandbagging tomorrow in San Francisco. It’s a meaningless game. Not very often does week 17 mean nothing but week 18 is for all the marbles.

Interesting take on the Lions tanking to keep guys healthy, as even a game down, Detroit takes the division with a win next week. Will be interesting, couldn’t have planned this any better for the Networks.

Vikes have to keep their foot on the gas. They can’t keep letting teams come back in the 4th quarter. Can get away with it when playing a bad team like gb, but not going to get away with that if they play a quality opponent.

The vikes did get flexed to Sunday night. The entire narrative this week will have the national pundits praising Campbell and the lions. Vikes offense can score with the Lions and the defense is better.

I like the vikes in a barn burner. Should be a fun game.

A lot of variables in the game. Vikings had the better team every day of the season. But better teams can lose. Here’s why I knew the Vikes would win, they got the better coach.

If the Lions lose tonight, they will probably lose out on the #1 Seed in the NFC because the Eagles will have the same record, and they own the tiebreaker because they beat the Bucs, but the Lions lost to them. The stakes are just as high for them as they were for us. Losing either game makes getting to the Super Bowl way less likely.

The eagles can’t get the one seed, it’s either the Vikes or lions. Eagles are locked in at the two seed. Packers will be the 7 seed if Washington wins last game.

That is correct, the Eagles are locked into the 2 seed. They will likely be resting players in week 18 against the Giants. Except for Barkley. He’s 101 yards from the single season rushing record.

The winner of the Vikings-Lions game gets the 1 seed and a bye, the loser drops to the 5 seed and will likely play Tampa on the road.

The Eagles needed the Vikings to lose last night and the Vikings to beat Detroit in order to win the number 1 seed.
The Bucs beat the Eagles back in Sept.

Me at the beginning of the 4th Qtr: “Now I can take the Vikings seriously…dominating a good team for once.”

    End of the game: “Nope.”

This was my take also. I am still having a hard time taking us for real even with the record being what it is. IF we can get the 1 seed then we have a shot, if we have to do this on the road I’m just not sure.

I could if he was a smart coach. But he’s a bit of a loose cannon so probably not.

100% agree. Thought the 1st 3 quarters were some of the best football they have played all year. Then the same old same old Vikings in the 4th. Sooner or later their not being able to finish a team off may get them.

What some of you fail to realize here is that when a team gets a double digit or multiple score possession lead in the second half, particularly in the 4th quater, they go into prevent defense. They back way off, and allow the opposition to move the ball in front of them, one first down at a time. The idea behind this is that it eats up clock. Rather than getting beat deep on one or two big plays. Its like slowly bleeding out but you still survive at the end.

I would argue the only points the Packers scored yesterday was when 1) the Vikings turned it over, and 2) in garbage time when it was 27-10 with 6 mins left in prevent defense mode. Outside of those, they put up a whopping 3 points.

This scenario has played out several times this season with the Vikings, including the week before against the Seahawks too. Up 17-7, go into prevent defense mode. Seattle works their way back into the game.

Every team in the entire NFL does it. Its not something one or two teams do. They all do it. I don’t particularly care for it, but if you think the Packers walked up and down the field to make it a close game, you didn’t see the same defense I saw from the Vikings for 3.5 quarters.

The Packers had scored 30 or more points in the last 5 straight games. They put up 3 on their own yesterday. I’d call that pretty good defense against a team that had been a buzz saw on offense.

77 percent of NFL games are 1 score games this year.

Some of you need to enjoy the ride. This is not the same old Vikings.
This is the KOC era. Completely different. Do you think he cares about Vikings teams of the past. They have not had these offensive weapons since CC and Moss and haven’t had a defense like this in a long time.
They are 14-2 with a chance at the number 1 seed next week. What else do they need to do at this point to prove they are one of the best teams in the NFC.

They just held J Love to 19-30 for 185 yards. Beat the cheese twice in one season.
