ESPN said he has earned $294 million in his career. That’s not the value of his contracts, that’s his earning. The guy is brilliant at maximizing his value.

He’ll end up somewhere next year…probably in the same position starting ahead of a rookie til they are ready.

I’m not sold on Darnold long term, but he is having a helluva year, and certainly could go on a 3-4 game run in the playoffs. Let’s SKOL!!!

Darnold’s season this year is reminding me of Case Keenum’s season in 2017. Obviously some differences but also a lot of similarities. To this day I still wonder how things would have been different if we signed Keenum the next year instead of Kirk.

    Early Vegas Odds:

Kirk Cousins Team in 2025 (Vikings are @ +310)

Aaron Rodgers Team in 2025 (Vikings are @ +195)

    whistling

Both would be a great “bridge” to the self proclaimed legend that is 21 year old JJ McCarthy if they choose not to offer Darnold a dime after he takes them to the SB

I’m pretty bored with the “what to do with Darnold” discussion personally, but here’s my thoughts anyway. I don’t see anyway he comes back on a team friendly deal, he is going to maximize his worth as he should. So anything short of a SB appearance and they let him walk and get a compensatory pick. They roll with Danny Dimes as Darnold version 2 and JJ taking over at some point next year. If Darnold breaks the SB appearance curse, he at the minimum gets franchised. If he wins it all, then give him a large ownership stake and he becomes one of us, appointed King of MN, and never has to buy anything in MN ever again. rotflol But none of the top 86 scenarios involve Cirk or ARodg anymore.

I could see the Vikings Franchise tagging Darnold no matter what as we could then trade him and get something in return.

Hey Bucky what about Russell Wilson? I recall you stating he could end up in purple this season and he seems to be reviving his career with the Steelers. I think he was only signed on a one year deal too, just like Darnold.

Maybe you should toss him into the mix again for 2025. Mr Unlimited, let’s ride! jester

Is there a point this season where Jonesy comes off the practice squad, and will be bump ahead of Mullins as the backup if he does?

    Nope. Times have changed.

If Cousins and Rodgers are unavailable, it’s got to be Fields as the next guy up to join the overflowing Vikings QB Room.

Nobody knows how the book of Uncle Sam’s 2024/25 season ends. So far, it is a feel-good thrill ride. Next Chapter: Sam Invades SeaChicken Territory To Take On The 12’s.

QB Geno Smith does not have an injury designation against the Vikings on Sunday and will be starting.

Not choosing to run on first down to make Seattle use their timeouts was stupid and costly. Yuge brain fart by KOC.

There were times I was wondering where our defense was at.

WOW! Heck of a game. I truly thought this was going to be the one we just didn’t have enough left in the bag. Playing a really good team that has more to play for in a really tough place to play, especially in the rain. Seattle’s last TD drive had our defense sucking so much wind – I thought we were done for. Sammy Darnold with another clutch TD, and the defense showed up just in time.

Scary with Darnold’s ankle at the end, looks like he’s ok…

I’d like to see the OL make some holes so they can run out the clock in the final 2 minutes.

I’d like to see the O-line do A LOT of things better – biggest liability right now. But going to enjoy this win!

I thought Darnold snapped in half on that facemask.

I went to the Dr recently for a physical and blood pressure was a little elevated. Discussed diet, exercise, etc.
I think it’s the damn Vikings, they are gonna be the death of me yet.
    But, I’ll take the win.
