Why? They were expected to have like 5 or 6 wins all season by most people.

You could argue that KOC is doing more with less than ANY coach in the league. Darnold is good but will never be a career great and KOC is getting greatness out of him. O line still sucks and is injured but but is doing enough to win games. Our top 2 receivers are the envy of the league, but we also get an incredible amount of production from TEs and typical “3rd down guys,” as well. Defense took a bunch relatively unknown second team free agents and built the best defense in the league in many regards. I’m the biggest Viking pessimist there is, but KOC has NOTHING to worry about right now.

In other Vikings news, seems Randy Moss is battling some health issues and is stepping away from ESPN for a while. Hope everything will be fine, but he mentioned it on the air last week and today announced he was stepping away.

Pay no attention to pitter patter. He comes on this thread to troll and nothing more.

I like the Vikes to win by 7+ this weekend. BFlo is licking his chops to play against Cousins, and if they get after him early I would not at all be surprised to see Penix come in. And unless he catches fire, it will be over early. Just need the offense to hold onto the ball, and play with some consistency in the first half. Then we got the Bears at home on Monday night, at Seattle that both need to be W’s, and then we will see the cream of the division rise finishing at home against the Pack and at the Lions.

KOC is a top candidate for coach of the year right now along with Tomlin and Campbell.

I also like the Vikes to win by 7+ this week. Kirko at MN doesn’t scare me in the least, especially with his play of late. I think Atlanta’s chances of winning this game are under 10%. Uncle Sam is locked in and dealing to the weapons. I think the O-Line is pissed at their performance in the first half last week and will not repeat the sluggish start. I also look for the 12th Man to be ready to rumble with the return of Kirk. The fans in the stands were kind of pathetic for most of the game vs. the Cards. I think the D is ready to go off for a stretch run that steals the Divison title from those beat up Lions. If the stars on this team remain healthy we have the horses to do it and be the NFC #1 seed. I think the Lions are going to falter down the strech and the race will be won by either the Vikes or the Eagles.

The Vikings re-activated K Will Reichard from IR and release K Parker Romo.

Romo went 11 of 12 on FGs and 7 of 8 on PATs while filling in for the injured Reichard. Not bad for a back up kicker.

Lot of teams leveraging back-up kickers this year with success. a year or two ago it felt like there were only a few good kickers in the league and back-ups were at a premium – now we have talent in the waiting in the wings.

Well so far we’ve seen the good and the bad from Kirko in the first half. That penalty on the Falcons when attempting the FG was a massive blunder on their part.

Are we sure our Linebackers are going on the field when we’re on defense? I haven’t seem them in awhile today….

I sure hope Addison matures and puts all the legal bs behind him, the kid has a chance to be special, feels like the only thing that can stop him is himself…

Don’t think anybody expected this Darnold when they signed him.

350 yards, 5TDs and a win over a likely playoff team for Darnold.

At what point do the Vikings faithful start to appreciate what they have, and second guess blindly handing this thing off to 21 year old JJ McCarthy in the offseason?

well for one he’s the only one under contract. Two Darnold is going to get paid by someone and likely not the Vikings. Three Jones could be a reclamation project to fall back on after we win the Superbowl this year

I didn’t pay much attention to the signing. What I did listen to was Collers rave reviews of Darnold during training camp on Purple Insider. This doesn’t surprise me in the least. Coller knows football and really good QB play when he sees it. He has been incredibly accurate in his prediction of Darnold’s play this season and high-ceiling. I think something clicked with Sam’s confidence level in the Colts game. I’m not surprised he is shredding it in the least. This is who he was projected to be by very smart football people. KOC brought it out of him.

We will see what happens when that time comes. Why worry about it now.

Yeah no sense in worrying about it now but it will be a good problem to try and solve I guess

Bout time they opened up a game. The eye’s for the ball on Addison is great, the adjustments he makes is really fun watching.
