It sounds like he’s still not even really practicing. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t just fold up shop and call it a season. The Panthers are going nowhere and he’s still getting paid despite playing 3 games all year.

He’s either going to have to come off the IR or be ruled done for the year when the timeline is up.

Mac Jones will be the starting QB for the Jags tomorrow. Trevor Lawrence is out with an injury.

Will the Vikes fall victim to the overconfidence trap in FL?

The Packer match-up vs. the Jags ceased to be a trap game the second Love pulled up lame early on. At that point, it became a scratch, claw, and hope the team gets out with the W.

Darnold showing again why he can’t stay on a team. He sucks. Every pass is behind receiver. Forces to covered receivers. Can’t make a good decision ever.

    That was ugly.

Couldn’t score a TD against the jags…? Oofdah.

Should have put mullens in after half.

Hahah I see you’re still on this trap game nonsense jester

Vikes are lucky they got Mac today just like the packers are lucky they got the Rams when they did. Rooting for Houston to upset the Lions but in the end I see Detroit winning the division by 3 games.

That just might be the worst game to watch of the season.

Darnold and O fell into the trap. While the D kicked tail and took names. It’s hard to lose a game in the NFL when you only give up 7pts.

I was in my deer stand today but I listened to it on the radio.

Sounds like the offense left a lot of points off the board because they couldn’t finish drives. Tons of yardage and time of possession but lack of points.

At least the backup kicker had a field day lol

Apparently the Broncos had a short FG with 2 seconds left to beat KC and the Chiefs blocked it?

You’d hope as the season progresses your team improves. This team has been going backward pretty much every game. It looks like the DC’s of the world have seen enough tape on Darnold to shut him down, or force him into stupid turnovers. And the Vikings are still the Vikings. They need 7 yards, run a 6 yard route. Need 5, go 4. Holding a lead with a few minutes left? Three high school level running plays and then punt the ball away to give the opposition a chance to win. As much as I absolutely detest the “prevent defense”, I really despise the “prevent offense” ! Why stop doing what got you a lead in the first place.

    OK, rant off.

Team Red is playing a heck of a 1st Half, Remember the Alamo!

Heck of a hole the Lions are going to have to dig out of in the second half and Team Red starts with the ball.

And Dan Campbell calls his shot on an INT to start the 2nd Half.

And Goff pulls a Darnold and gives it right back.

Now Stroud is channeling Darnold with a poorly thrown INT in the end zone. The Lions needed that pick. A better thrown ball and it’s a TD.

a win is a win no matter how ugly it is right????

…I’m glad we didn’t give the 5 year extension to Darnold so many fans were barking for after the 5-0 start…

Agreed. It’s a league where guys are paid millions of dollars to beat the other side, and are playing for “the next contract” that could set them and their children up for the rest of their lives. Even bad teams want to win. The Jags are no exception.

Darnold will likely be 8-2 after next week, and 9-2 as a starter for the Vikings the week after with games against the Titans and Bears.

Does anyone want to take any wagers on whether JJ McCarthy will start 7-2, 8-2, or 9-2 next season? I know where I’m putting my money. I have a feeling that Minnesota fans could get a hard lesson in the old “the grass isn’t always greener” phrase by putting all the eggs into the proverbial JJ Mccarthy basket. This team is 7-2 with a chance to legitimately make the NFC Championship game. What more do people want from the QB position?

Does that imply that Sam is the reason for some/all of those victories? cuz I don’t think he has been other than maybe the Houston game…

Defense is the sole reason for 5-6 wins so far this season…if they play the same next season, JJ will be successful…

I dont think he has been the sole reason and he certainly had a poor game yesterday and even last week. He makes some ill advised decisions on passes that never should be made period. There are many plays however that he makes that Cousins never would even attempt because he was always too safe and would check down. That 97 yard TD to Jefferson is a prime example. Cousins can make that throw, but he would have never in a million years taken the chance.

can you name another play like that though? There were 1-2 passes late in the 49ers & Houston games that secured the win and a perfect 1st quarter in Greenbay, but after that, Sam hasn’t done much…

He’s seeing ghosts again…we just need him to game manage and instead he’s been doing all he can to give games away lately…KOC has his work cut out for him this week to get Sam’s head back on track, we’ll truly see if he’s the QB whisperer we all think he is…thankfully we have a few more creampuff teams to play against, but we’ve seen how that thinking has played out lately…

The Vikings team as a whole has been good. I’m simply saying that I do not think they will have the same record through the first 10 or so games next season with JJ at the helm as they will this season. Sometimes sports fans are so quick to look to the “promise” of what’s to come that they don’t appreciate what is currently going on

Darnold has been solid. He’s made some terrible throws and decisions in a couple games (which most QBs do), but he’s also had some pretty efficent games. He’s not some ultimate anchor that’s holding down the 7-2 Minnesota Vikings in any way from what I have seen.

In the history of the MN Vikings Franchise, only 5 Quarterbacks have ever thrown for 30 TDs in a season (Culpepper, Cousins, Cunningham, Moon, and Favre). Darnold could become the 6th.

Not off the top of my head now, but if I go back through my posts here I highlighted them many pages ago, there are been several. That is the most glaring and rememberable one for me though because it was such a dramatic play.
