The defense looks tired and wore out. There is almost no push back or pressure applied. And when there’s a third down, the Rams get a first down via penalty.

Zero pressure by the D-Line, you give Stafford that much time he’ll pick any defense apart…
Offense has to bail them out right now…

But I thought we had 3 stud D-lineman that couldn’t be taken off the field on passing downs…..

By the way….Rams have 2 rookies on their OL starting for them tonight..

Crazy how many third down penalties the Vikings defense has committed to let the lowly Rams keep rolling.

They are not lowly with Kupp and Puka in the lineup.

Season in serious jeopardy given the company in our division. Played like a sub 500 team tonight. Darrisaw likely not returning for a while. Soft few weeks coming up means nothing if we’re gonna play like this. I personally dont give a damn about the missed facemask. Should never have been in that situation to begin with. Fun while it lasted. Still the same old Vikes.

That’s what I said earlier. But apparently some thought they weren’t difference makers. coffee

Clearly they are a much better team with their stud WRs in the game.

Definitely a missed facemask penalty right in front of the official too. But I digress…

You play like crap you probably will not win. Only watched the last half, not pretty. Getting 3 points in red zone does not win games.
Refs missing penalties does not help either…

Darnold held that ball way to long, in his own endzone. Had #0 grabbed his shoulder pad, it still woulda been a safety.
Bad play calls and bad decision making by the Vikes killed our last couple drives.

If that call wasn’t missed, the Vikings easily win by 10 as I predicted earlier in this thread. Damn officiating.

Colts, Jags, Titans are 3 good teams to “get right” against though for the Vikings. They’re 5-2 with 3 upcoming games they will be heavy favorites in. Take care of business and hope Darrisaw isn’t out a long time, and everything is still in front of them

Lions hangover and the refs beat the Vikes. The Rams are not a sub 500 team with Puka Kupp, Stafford, and Kyren. They are one of the best offenses in the league with those guys.

You can say what you want buy that was a terrible no call. No matter how bad they played first and ten from the 25 still gives them chance instead of the dagger.

That was a bad missed call but didn’t decide the game. They lost it themselves. Awful offensive performance after the first 2 drives. Darnold held onto that ball for years on that last play.

    Darrisaw injury is huge.

Bucky, I dunno, I think those are what pundit would call “trap games.”

Nope I wouldn’t call this one a trap. Short week against a team that got their two All-Pro WR back from injury for a huge emotional lift. That is a toss-up loss even if you are the better team on full rest.

    I agree, missed call.

However, I mostly disagree with the rest of your statement. The defense is the side of the ball that lost the game. Zero pressure, zero sacks, and give up 30 points. I can literally recall ONE pressure on Stafford and two defenders missed him, only to see him throw a TD to Kupp. Then there’s the penalties – 5 of them on 3rd down which gave the Rams a first down.

I don’t quite understand why the defense looked so tired and disinterested. Ya they forced an interception, but otherwise they just looked like 11 bodies on the field. Not the Flores blitz happy defense we generally see. Stafford is old, slow, and immobile. Not sure why they couldn’t pressure him.

Correct me if I’m wrong here, but I think that is the first loss under KOC in which the Vikings won the turnover margin (+1) but still lost the game.

Hate to complain about the refs but that was a tough one. Rams should have had to punt when it was 14-7 and 3rd and nine. There was no defensive holding. Maybe dont change the outcome but sure dont help. No NFL game should ever end on a non call like that. When the defender lets go of his face mask and immediately puts his hands on his helmet cause he knew he screwed up how the refs not see that.

I think now that teams have enough game footage they have figured out how to attack the vikings. A good coach + a Good QB with even decent receivers + our D backs is going to = problems for the vikings. I know we have a TON of KOC fans on here, but I feel like he’s being out coached by good coaches both this year and last. Early Off. drive’s are mostly pre-planned. He’s doing a excellent job there. Its as the game goes along I don’t think he is adjusting as well as other good coaches he’s playing against. If this team is going to be a playoff team and have a chance to advance in the playoffs their D backs are going to have to really improve or we are going to have to bring in some better ones.

I agree. The defense was a larger concern. To even say they “forced an interception” is a stretch. They Rams had their guy open with a nice leverage route concept and he just overthrew him by 4 yards for an easy interception. A bad misfire.

A lot of what they do defensively is based on confusion and not showing their hand in coverage. By this point in the season there’s a lot of good film out there now showing the Vikings in close games too (Lions). You have to give Sean McVay credit as he clearly designed a successful gameplan that Flores wasn’t able to adjust to and stop.

Damnit, I love reading the comments after a game like last night. It’s hilarious.

I saw Dallas Turner finally had his name mentioned last night. I guess we now see why he fell down the draft board so much. Just another Lewis Cine in the making.

That looked like a team that just had a battle royal against a heck of a division rival and was tasked to travel on a short week to play against a team that was pleasantly surprised to get their two best offensive weapons back. Or is that what actually happened…

    Friday Morning rant.
This defense is exposed! The middle of the field is wide open, and our DBs can’t cover when we blitz. Plus the blitz is not getting home. Flores has not adjusted well. The one interception we had was just a badly thrown ball. if it is not over thrown, the receiver was open by 5 yds. Pace looks lost, deviates from his assignment way to much. Oh, did I mention our DBs are not good or average. they do not have closing burst for our “umbrella” defense.

Offense, well it hasn’t been great all year, effective but not great. Darnold is late on a lot of throws, more so as the season has gone on. Pass protection has been pretty good, but our run blocking is below average. O’Connell is a bit too aggressive in my opinion as well. We all like explosive plays, for petes sake, can we use a little ball control passing of say 5-8 yards for parts of the game? Why do we pass 10+ yds on slow developing play so much. And to the boundries so often. Use the middle of the field. It worked the first 2 drives, then it gets abandoned. O’Connell out coaches himself sometimes. Screens seem to work for this team. We use it once last night.
We have good pieces, and we where always going to lose some games, but we look like team the pundits said we were last night.
