Enjoying the ride regardless, as this was a freebie no one was expecting!

Definitely! Going into the season the prognosticators thought the VIkings would have lost the first 9 games or at least wouldnt be favored to win. Based on that they have surpassed half of their potential season total for wins LOL

Werm, you mentioned Dallas Turner, I assume he’s playing? I was watching the game with a bunch of friends in a garage and there was a lot of talking/banter so didn’t catch a lot of the finer details. He had a break-out debut but then missed a game or two because of injury, but I haven’t heard his name called a lot since. I’m hoping we hear his name called a lot more this season.

And Grenard, Van Ginkel and all the names above are amazing but let’s not forget our own boy Blake Cashman – that dude is everywhere and feel like he has a role in every big defensive play.

Turner was playing yesterday but didnt have a ton of snaps so that is likely why you missed him.

My kid sent this to me yesterday, not sure if the #’s are correct but it’s pretty interesting. Although I thought the 98 team was more balanced.

It sounds like the Vikings do not anticipate Aaron Jones to miss any time. That is good news! Plus add in Hockenson may be back (I would assume on a limited snap count to start).

Jets head coach Robert Saleh has been fired this morning. Can’t help but think that the Vikings had something to do with that after the result in London on Sunday.

Perhaps. His record over 3+ years there was 20-36. Just not very good. The defensive coordinator is the interim coach and their next game is on Monday at Buffalo.

In season firings in the NFL always make me scratch my head. Has there ever been a team that fired their coach and then made the playoffs that year? I’m sure Rodgers complained to Woody Johnson and wanted Saleh out. What a dumpster fire the Jets have been since getting Rodgers.

What a dumpster fire the Jets have been since getting Rodgers FOREVER.

Fixed it for ya. Saleh was lucky to stick around as long as he did, typically when you draft a QB #2 (Zach Wilson) your rookie year as a HC the two are tied together. If the QB fails, the HC gets fired. He had some decent defenses which kept him around, and Rodgers was the hail mary of his tenure. Not sure how he didn’t realize that, and pissed off ARodg but that was the straw that broke the camels back.

Took the words out of my mouth, Werm! I know it’s painstaking to be a Vikes fan sometimes – but thank God we’re not the Jets, Cleveland, or until recently – Detroit. This is just the most recent in a LONG LINE of failures from poor management and leadership. They do have one Super Bowl win though – I’ll give that to them. rotflol

During the game Sunday with the way the game was unfolding I saw some Twitter activity from Jets fans who were lamenting that they had to watch their former QB Sam Darnold succeed while they were stuck with the performance of an aging Aaron Rogers. What a time to be alive.

Vikings being pretty discreet on Aaron Jones injury. KOC stating lucky it was not worse (long term), but they are not sure he will be ready to play against Detroit.

KOC has plenty of time to develop plays that accentuate Chandler’s and Gaskin’s strengths vs. plugging them into the Jets game plan built for Jones.

I agree he will have to have a different plan for the backs as they can’t run north south like Jones can. Any running backs sitting on the couch that we could make a phone call to?

5-0 affords them to play it safe with Jones, but we knew he’s susceptible to injuries so this should be no surprise…

Not really, sometimes you will get a guy that sits waiting for a payday, but this year it’s mostly guys that just didn’t make a team. Practice squads are an option. Otherwise, if Jones’ injury is longer term I’d expect them to make a trade (Nick Chubb or Travis Etienne maybe). It sure didn’t look like a bad injury though, and I can understand them keeping him out for some extra rest against Detroit, but think he’d be back after that.

Read yesterday that Jones shouldn’t miss any time

This will be a very similar situation with Jones in Minnesota as there was in GB in his recent years. The guy impacts winning in so many ways and is extremely versatile…but he’s 200lbs with pads and shoes on as a feature back in the NFL who has had some injuries.

The Vikings roster is good enough to win games without giving him the ball 18-20 times. Save those workloads for when it matters down the stretch against good teams in tight games. A healthy Jones in December and January is going to be crucial for the Vikings to make a playoff run.

They will be fine with Chandler and Gaskin. Is Jones better – Yep, but not by a large amount from what I’ve seen.

100% agree. I’ve been saying all year that Chandler and him should be a 50/50 split. Keep him healthy for when it matters late in the season.

Out of the big 3 on offense (Darnold, Jones, and JJ), Jones is the most expendable. But the whole game plan changes without him.

Honestly the last 6 quarters of Darnold look like the Darnold of old, as well. I’m hoping that’s a hic-up and at least partially due to some discomfort from getting hit.

Viking one of 2 remaining unbeaten teams – Wow. Neither of them are going down this week. After the Lions the Vikings schedule is rather easy for the next 3 games. If Minnesota wins against the Lions after the bye week I’ll say they go undefeated longer than KC will. Minnesota next 4 teams are a combined 7-12 and KC’s next 4 are 10-10. Minnesota has 2 teams that are currently 1-4 in those 4 games. KC has no 1 win teams in their 4. GO VIKES !!!

IT’S TREMENDOUSLY HARD for me to say this, but here it goes…

    GO COWBOYS!

Don’t get me wrong, Detroit is my current second-favorite team and it’s great to see them consistently competing the last few years. But I’d love a buffer game in the division going into the week 7 contest with them. That’s going to be a VERY tough game.

If Darnold throws the ball like he has the last 5 quarters or so which hes proven hes capable of over the years. Week 7 against the Lions wont matter. Think hes heard way to much talk about how good hes doing. Needs to go back to proving hes a nfl starter like the first 3.5 games.

The jets have a top defense, with the travel to London, likely screwing around there, and the rain, I don’t think it’s a surprise that game was kind of sloppy. Hopefully they get back to playing like they have on offense. Lions game will answer some questions there I guess

Mike Zimmer’s defense in Dallas is getting taken to the wood shed today by the Lions.

The kitties are going to be a very difficult opponent to defend against next Sunday.
