I have a good amount of peppers left but I have already canned or frozen all we will use. I am hoping for one more batch of tomatoes to get ripe at one time so we can make some sauce. I only had enough for Salsa so far this year.
I can see this being the end though. Tomatoes never do that well the last few weeks before the freeze.

Nobody wants canned hot peppers! I canned more than I need but cant give any away. What is wrong with people?! jester I am actually confused by it.
Who doesn’t like a good canned hot Banana? They aren’t even very hot.
I snuck in 5 pints of stewed tomatoes last night. With last years leftovers I wasn’t going to do it but I couldn’t watch those tomatoes go to waste.

Make hot sauce. Green, red, whatever color the chilis are. The stuff keeps forever in the fridge what with all the vinegar/salt in it. You can even leave the salt out.

To the worse garden in 34 years, RIP!! Got some decent sweet corn and the second planting had half-filled cobs but tasted great, 6 zucchini and 3 acorn squash (2 didn’t turn green).

I just canned the last red tomatoes last night. All that work for 1.5 quarts. Glad its over.

I ended up with 58 pints of San Marzanos.

I got a late start with my tomatillos. I used inferior potting soil. Kellogg brand raised garden soil. My tomatillos looked pathetic. After a weekly hosing of Miracle Grow they took off.

I also didn’t know they weren’t self pollinators like tomatoes. I had them in planters about 3 feet away from each other. I placed them next to each other and within a week they started producing fruit.

I ended up with 14 pints of salsa Verde plus we probably ate another 5 pints fresh. I didn’t realize how much I liked salsa Verde.

The picture is from a day before the first frost this fall. The bumble bees loved the flowers. If I only had a few more weeks…

    Next year should be better.
