Figured I’d start a new thread for 2024 since I didn’t see one yet. I got out fishing with my folks last weekend and had a blast tossing some wacky worms at some bass! The guy in particular has a funny story… So I got hung up on a weed or two during the evening and set the hook but no fish (better safe than sorry!) Well, when this guy hit it felt like another clump of weeds so I grumbled that I’ve hooked some weeds again … just about the time my Dad looks over and Mr. Bass shoots like a cannon out of the water and makes a big splash before I land him! I said with excitement, “Oooh ooh ooh it’s a fish!” as Dad grabbed for the net. Sage advice from my wise Dad… “Weeds don’t jump, Sharon.” whistling rotflol yay What a great weekend!!

I posted this one in the tactics thread a couple weeks ago on Memorial Day. It’s the second biggest largemouth I’ve ever caught.

To commemorate the memorable bass I caught last weekend I decided to paint the scene on this decorative wood piece! Thanks Dad for the painting suggestion! mrgreen

Well the river is out of the question so I headed back to my old stomping grounds, a small East Metro Bass lake. I wasn’t expecting much this morning as this lake has been poached and “herbicided” to death so I was very surprised to find this one. Like Toby Keith once sang, “It’s not as good as it once was, but it’s as good once as it ever was”.
