Agree…will be interesting to see how the crowd (assumably more US spectators??) will act during the anthems.

If memory serves me right, I recall a few years ago the mic cut out in a Canadian arena when the us anthem was being sung. The Canadian fans finished it, then proceeded to sing their own immediately after (probs in French).

The players are fired up, it’s gonna be good. Idk if it will match Saturday but it’s gonna start fast!

With all the international play coming up in the coming years, this tournament will fizzle out I’m afraid. Maybe not quantity, but quality – think someone said ‘watered down’ earlier. Totally agree.

I think the difference is in goal. Hellebuyck is clearly a step up from Binnington and that was demonstrated on Saturday.

3-1 USA with an empty netter.

ESPN did a piece with the Tkachuk family around the dinner table and talking about what led up to the fights to start the previous game. Pretty crazy legacy for Keith to play in the NHL and have both of his boys playing in the NHL and now teammates on team USA. Cool stuff!

    lol..my boy?

I think Kreider made total sense to replace an injured Mathew Tkachuk, but not to replace a highly skilled offensive player like Connor? Maybe he was sick?
Hopefully Kreider can get a greasy goal…

lol, wouldn’t that be awesome though!!!
How do you feel about losing Boldy and Rossi and then paying Brady $15 million a season in 3 years?

They are all damn good. Except werensky who I have not been impressed with at all. Slavin sluffing off made Faber recover for him and the PxP guys laud Slavin…

Werensky is a stud and is wasting away in Columbus.

Werensky is leading the tournament with 6 assists.

Yeah I definitely don’t agree with the werenski take, but I didn’t agree with Kreider for Tkachuck take so I must watch a different game or something.

there’s no Kreider for Tkachuk take… I simply said Kreider’s play style is the same as Tkachuk’s, so you’re not losing as much vs if Austin Mathews or Jack Eichel was hurt and Kreider was their replacement…

Werensky has looked like crap tonight. Otherwise I didn’t really pick on him he must have been good.

I think Canada scores first but it will be 2-2 going into the 3rd period and then a 5-3 USA victory with an empty netter in the final 30 seconds…

looking at my reply, I now realize this is basically how the 1st game went…. oh well…

    I’m still feeling this….

No, but I would trade gaudreau, Johanson, Hartman, merril and a 1st round pick in a second. Make it happen but dont tip your hand.

Nevermind, they just said it’s continuous OT until someone wins. No shoot outs. Basically same as Stanley cup playoffs.

Werensky is good, but he hasn’t looked good to me tonight. Slavin was looking bad and I called him out and boom makes a big play. Hmmm
