Well we’re 9 seconds and 3 fights into the USA vs Canada game…

I feared McDavid would use this game to remind everyone he’s the best on the planet…

He just shot out of a cannon for that goal…

McAvoy hit on Mcdavid was freaking awesome. I wish that sort of thing would happen more during regular NHL games to the “untouchable” superstars.

I’m kind of surprised they went with binnington back to back games.

I agree, but every team has multiple people willing to fight and know it’s coming after. These teams have so few fighters that I think the players know they can get away with it.

Crosby has taken a few already too.

I want us to win tonight…… but watching these two on Thursday would be pretty sweet too.

I guess I’m kinda surprised the players care THAT much. Love it though!

I have to keep reminding myself that this isn’t even the championship… sure feels like it.

It’s dang good hockey. So fun to watch a real home run IMO. Bettman will screw this up by adding more teams or who knows what.

Big win for USA Hockey, Crosby’s 1st ever Canada loss…

Faber might have been robbed of a goal by his own guy on the empty net attempt.

Great game. Canada has the most superstars but not the most rounded team. USA had the depth advantage.

Matthew being hurt is not a good thing for us. Hoping it’s just something minor and he’s back Monday.

Chris Krieder is the same type of player as Tkachuk, so it wont be that big a loss if Mathew can’t go Thursday…
Canada will beat Finland Monday and face us again Thursday with Cale Makar back…

Matthews has 1 assist so far. Like mcdavid last night, he’s due for a good game too.

Pretty cool watching the lower line combinations put up points.

Guentzel was an absolute stud in that game. #oneofus. What a game.

That’s because all star skills, competition, and games are dumb. The pro bowl is now a game of flag football lol

The only one that’s even remotely entertaining and/or important is the MLB version in July. At one point the outcome decided which conference was the home team for the world series, so it actually meant something. I think they got rid of that now tho.

What they should do is name all stars but skip the events. Then players would get the bonuses or notoriety for it without having to actually participate in the publicity stunts.

IDK, the NHL skills competition was entertaining to me and the players never seemed to mail it in. There were some gimmicky ones they had done in the past like a shot from the stands or whatever, but the hardest shot, fastest skater and the shooting for the targets were all pretty legit IMO.

Sweden has everything to play for and the US has nothing really to play for. That could be an upset. If Sweden wins in regulation and the other game goes to OT Sweden US championship. That would be pretty hilarious!
