We just needed Midstrom back to get the scoring going.

I missed far too much of that game putting kids to bed but followed the first period and a half on Twitter, so based on what I read and later saw that was a pretty cool roller coaster comeback win. Anxious to hear more on Faber though, and I didn’t catch why Gus was pulled, hoping it was just Hynes figuring it wasn’t his night, I know he (Gus) was on the bench at the end.

crazy game, they pulled Gus partially because he was just off on his angles it appeared, but more importantly to jumpstart the team, it worked…

It sounds like nobody could find an incident that got Brock hurt? So hopefully its just tightness or he pulled something?

Another take from the threads resident least articulate hockey fan:

I want Fluery back next year,i think? I know the bell has been rung and it’s known as his retirement tour. Last year he played more and thought he started to become more of a liability in net, but he’s having a good year, and to come off the bench and give up nothing tonight was huge. He’s still got some play left in him and obviously the team loves him. I know it’s unlikely to happen but if Wally still needs time I’d be glad to have Flower back a year.

I would like to see him finish his career on a high note. He seams to be a guy set on retirement but is such a competitive guy. Would love to see him on the TNT crew when he decides to be done. He has some good stories to tell. Fan favorite in just about every NHL city.

I try to go to one game a year. The Lady Friend won tickets off of KQ on Monday and we found ourselves going to the game last night. Man! What a roller coaster of a game!! Gus was definitely off just a tad and it was great to see Fluery come in and shut the Blues down. Sounds like everyone is as lost as me on the Faber injury? No clue what happened. I just noticed Merril was out WAY more than anyone would like to see and then noticed Brock not on the bench.. Hopefully nothing to serious going on with him. But the resilience and Grit this team has is something this TMSF hasn’t seen. Ever. What a Win!!

Hopefully we can keep it rolling against the Snowflakes. I got a buddy thats a hardcore fan and we trash talk daily. His excuse for the slow start was all the injuries and rightfully so, but it’d be Awesome to beat them tomorrow with $32 Million not on the ice. It’s going to be tough, but I have faith they can do it!

The Wild now need to break the huge 0 for streak against the Avs, Stars and Jets…if anything just to close the narrative…

Yeah they have taken the first 3 from STL who dominated them last year and probably the year before. Need to figure out how to get pts from those 3 teams to avoid falling behind.

It would be interesting to see the Wild bring back the old Star Player Shadow strategy against MacKinnon, old Northstar fans will remember the Geatan Duchesne shadow strategy used in the 1991 Cup Run…Just throw Marat (gotta have a player who has wheels) on him every shift, see if you can limit MacKinnon because every other defensive strategy teams have tried against him this season haven’t worked…

Sweet reference to Gaetan. I remember he was interviewed not long after coming to the North Stars. He was asked how he likes his new nickname, the Duke. He said he liked it much better than the old one, the Douche.

There’s a new video floating around showing Faber getting hit up high in the head by Jake Neighbors 37 seconds into the game…so it could be that he started to feel concussion symptoms a few shifts later and the trainers pulled him out of the game…but that’s me speculating, but nobody else found any game situations where he could have got hurt so….

I dont remember him having any concussion history at the U so hopefully this is a short recovery…

I now see Russo and others are speculating its a concussion too…

Avs lost last night to the Blackhawks 3-1, so hopefully they aren’t pissed off and take it out on the Wild tonight… we need to break this losing streak to the top Central teams tonight!

I will be at the game so chances are a MN Wild loss coming. I will say they did win the last game I went to on New Years eve, so maybe times they are a changing.

It be interesting tonight, Brodin out (blocked the shot off his foot last game so likely super sore still) Faber out with concussions symptoms, Flower is sick, Wallstedt is hurt and Iowa Wild are in San Diego, so we might see an emergency off the street backup goalie signed for just tonight, any amateur beer league goalies out there, give GMBG a call!…. ovey

the lone bright spot, Kirill has skated by himself the past few todays

We’ll get a good look at David Jiricek’s foot speed with McKinnon flying around all night….

for those that haven’t seen it, this is where Faber got hurt the other night…

Hopefully Foligno or somebody else has words with Neighbors next time we play the Blues…although Brock sort of put himself in that vulnerable position to take an elbow on the chin…

No KK, Spurgeon, Faber or Brodin. This should be an entertaining game tonight.

Not ideal for facing the Avs. But maybe they can surprise me (again)

    Yikes.

Obviously the Jets, Avalanche, and Stars are the three teams to worry about. St Louis is not finishing above any of those teams.

Guess I didn’t realize they were winless against the class of the central division. One of those three teams is almost guaranteed to be their first round playoff opponent too if the standings are similar.

I’m either entirely missing what a lot of you are getting at or I’m the only one who saw them beat Dallas on the road the day after Christmas without KK. Faber with a sweet wraparound goal in OT.

Good call Dan. They did beat the Stars. I quit watching that one when they were losing 2-0.
