Not denying he’s talented or his stats. Kirk Cousin’s stats are off the charts over his carrier. Boldy is wickedly talented, like with a capital W. He’s just got so much more potential and would like him to be the dominant player he has the skill level to be. He seems to lack confidence or self-esteem or something. He’s young and still have hope the kid can get some mam fat and push back to his game. Just irritating how soft he plays at times and how loosey goosey he is. If you had to loose a player to injury a week before the playoffs started would it be Ek or Boldy? It’s not all about just stats.

    He lacks experience… that’s all. He’s 23

Liam Ohgren scored again today for the Iowa Wild, that’s 8 goals in 9 AHL games this season, let him continue to cook…

Kind of silly question. One is a center one is a wing. So naturally wing is easier to fill that’s why there are 8/9 of them on a team.
Think you would be hurting without either one. Who is replacing the second most points on the team. Jojo?
Don’t think anyone will argue the importance of EK.
Ek was playing 3/4th line at 23. Whith a whopping 29 points and folks were saying he’s nothing more than a 3C.

27 games into Kaprizov’s 23 year old season: 10g-15a-25p and we declare him savior of the franchise

27 games into Boldy’s 23 year old season: 12g-15a-27p and Basseyes declares him a dumbass dipshit who has something wrong mentally and plays soft

what deserves more attention is the fact that even in the Wild’s best start ever, they still haven’t beaten the Division powerhouses (yes I know they haven’t played the Avs yet, crazy we don’t play them until 1/9)

hahaha! Very true but I will agree there are times I’m critical of boldys play. It’s board play mostly he still isn’t someone I’m worried about but that is one area he could improve.

He can both be soft and still score. Not saying he isn’t talented. He’s playing with KK, so guess who gets all the attention. He’s young, but sometimes his hockey iq isn’t stellar. Again, not saying he’s not gifted, talented and fully understand he’s still young. Just want more out of him because he has way more to offer talent wise than what we are seeing. Hoping he grows into a dominant player, and yes we all know his stats. Keep posting them like nobody knows that stuff already. RS had great stats too but was/is a douche canoe. Not comparing him to RS, cause I don’t think Boldy is or ever will a cancerous tumor stuck in second gear his whole career. But stats aren’t everything. What would Jojo’s stats look like if he played with KK every shift? Probably way better than they are now, and Boldy is far more talented than Jojo ever was, is or could be. Don’t hate Boldy, he’s just as frustrating to watch at times for me as Jojo. Probably more so because of how gifted the kid is. When he looks for and finds open ice playing without the puck he’s phenomenal. When he gets lazy and stands still he’s awful, which he does a lot more than I like to see and that is an issue he has. But if that’s acceptable because he’s got good stats now, imagine what those same stats would be if he was more in tune to the little details. Hopefully he keeps learning the devils in the details and can add another level to his game in the next couple years. If he can, he’ll be an absolute beast of a dominant player not far behind KK. That’s what I want out of the kid.

Right and you just used 2500 words to tell us all how much you definitely don’t hate him. Words that started out by calling him that dumbass dipshit smash

And I’m not saying he’s perfect, can he improve and be more consistent? Absolutely. But holy hell do you ever have a hardon for shitting on the guy

I heard a cool idea spitballed on the SotaPod podcast on something that could get negotiated in the next NHL/NHLPA CBA. What if the NHL had a sort of “Franchise Tag” designation that allowed each team to pay 1 player X amount AAV but the number that is used for salary cap purposes is capped.

So for example, the Wild designates Kirill as their “Franchise Tag” player and pays him an AAV of $15 million, but it caps at $10 million in terms of what number counts towards the salary cap…obviously there’s alot more that would need to go into it (it would benefit players signing new contracts) and i’m sure there’s some problems with it not obvious as I write this, but the idea is an interesting one…

I like the idea of a special $ option for the top player on each team…

It took two lockouts to arrive at the current 50/50 revenue sharing – I don’t think either side is ready to risk another so that only 32 players can get paid more

Wouldn’t the big markets just vastly overpay for someone because they have larger revenue streams. Leaving an imbalance. I’m fine with everyone playing the same rules currently.

That’s exactly what I would be afraid of unless they put a cap on what the amount could be like % of total team cap or something. That would balance it out.

Still could have the 20% max salary. Some fans would love it but just doesn’t make any sense at all for the owners or the players… the two sides of the CBA. No way the owners are going away from the 50% revenue sharing to give players a bigger chunk. And no way the players association is going to pick this fight all so 32 of their 750 members have the potential to get paid more. They’d have 700+ very angry union members

Yeah, like I said, there’s likely alot of holes in the fan idea, but I like that its outside the box for the vanilla NHL…

Like any sports league, the superstars drive the product, nobody is paying todays ticket prices to come watch the average players and scrubs, so they benefit from the superstars…

Is Boldy a scrub or superstar asking for a friend? And do people pay to watch him? rotflol

Apparently Basseyes needs to replace the Team USA Management and coaches because they have obviously not taking Boldys softness and lack of Hockey sense into account….WOW. Criticize one of the best players ON THE BEST team in the NHL….. Soft? One major reason the Wild are successful this year is because they are staying out of the box. When dumb Sh*t is happening they have been coached to let it go. So often Boldy is laughing at opponents as they do dumb crap. We dont have the likes of Hartman, Moose, Dewar, Duhaime and that broken kneed fire hydrant taking stupid penalties anymore. Everyone it following a plan and it is working great.

He actually hasn’t made the roster yet. He’s only made the tryout roster.

Mostly just going through the motions here because I would expect he makes the roster. But let’s not put the cart ahead of the horse.

    Dear Boldy,

Sorry for going scorched earth on you. Will try to remain positive with you and point out the good vs dwelling on the bad. You are not a dip poop head dummy butt. Just a frustrated hockey fan in the state of Minnesota who’s favorite player was Neal Broten growing up and really want the cup to be lifted in this town at some point. I have faith you and KK can lead us to the promise land hoisting that cup. All be it with some major deep seated mental anguish from watching the state of the state of hockey for over 4 decades and losing the Stars. Norm still sucks, still don’t like them in Dallas and nobody will ever change my mind on RS.

    Nice letter, Bass.

Hoping (kind of) that the game is on ESPN + tonight? I don’t see it on the guide on any of the usual channels. I haven’t seen much of Utah yet so that could be fun too.

Happy for Marat, he’s been playing alot better lately… you forget he’s only 22 years old and only in his 40 something NHL game….

This Utah arena sucks, love how the players disappear along the lower boards…

Its a good thing this game isn’t locally televised, Basseyes would be gloating bigtime with how bad a game Boldy is having….
