Could see some hesitation from the Rossi camp on signing a long term deal with his name constantly in trade rumors.

The only thing that makes sense to me on a Rossi trade is using him as part of a deal for big game hunting. Like the Alex Tuch part of the Eichel trade. Completely hypothetical here but think of someone like Brady Tkachuk or Tim Stutzle comes available.

I think they are both going to kick the can with a 2 year bridge deal, it gets GMBG past the Kirill decision and he can plan accordingly afterwards

if Kirill leaves, they’ll have more than enough cap space to sign Marco long term if it makes sense…

if Kirill stays, they’ll also know what Yurov looks like as a NHL player and they can decide who to keep and use the other as a trade piece to fill a need for their cup run years…

Not to go all NBA load management, but do the Wild need an experienced centerman as a possible stand in for Ek? Not sure what the roster/cap situations allow, but I feel like now the D has adequate backup but Ek and the center position is where we are exposed.

We have no cap space to bring someone in. Only thing we could do is bring someone up from Iowa or ship someone out in exchange.

Hockey Wilderness has an article about that topic Grouse. They suggest Brock Nelson from the Islanders. Not a bad idea if we could pull it off.

Nelson is going to require a 1st round pick at the trade deadline, I dont think GMBG will give up 2 years in a row. I don’t think he would mind moving prospects like Ohgren, Stramel and Lambos though…

It feels like we’re in another 7-8 game disappearing act by Jojo again…. Just no effort to fight for pucks…

That would certainly be the type of guy.

Nelson is going to require a 1st round pick at the trade deadline,

33 going on 34 and in the last year of his contract? If the Islanders would be out of playoff contention, a first round pick is a bit optimistic.

I mean Nelson is good but they can’t expect a Martin Hanzel level deadline deal. Okay maybe that’s a bad example…

IF Brock Nelson gets moved at the deadline he’ll certainly get a 1st + more. Big boy center that scores 35 goals a year – who cares how old he is, he’s a rental not signing a long term contract. He’d be the #1 target easily

I just don’t see Lou selling unless they’re almost mathematically eliminated by the deadline.

I want nothing to do with Brock Nelson, especially for the price it will cost and then the thoughts of re-signing him to help justify the price paid…

What a crock of s***. Boldy gets pushed into the goaltender from behind and it’s a penalty on him?

That penalty on Boldy just makes no sense to me, gotta incredibly frustrating if you’re Boldy

In the words of the great Mikko Koivu: “Fuk you Kuemper” lol no shutout and still the worst goalie in the history of the NHL according to Wild fans

Two best defensive teams in the league and it showed tonight

Yakov Trenin is an unstoppable goal scorer

Pretty boring game last night. I quite watching when they were down 2. Sounds like the 3rd they got their legs under them and Trenin scored again. This time wasnt an open net I dont think LOL

2 bright spots for the gloomy Iowa Wild, Liam Ohgren is scoring goals and David Spacek has elevated himself from the rest of the D prospects…

The Wild just didn’t capitalize on their chances, Boldy had a point blank chance in the first 10 seconds that would have set the tone… tons of shots missed the net… felt like a 22hour back to back game… one more road game before a long homestand where we hopefully get 1-2 guys back off IR

So they have 5 regulation losses on the season, and 2 of them are to the Kings by a combined score of 9-2.

Let’s just avoid them if at all possible from here on out. smash

Ohgren is only one of value. Stramel and Lambos ain’t getting you anything but depth piece. This was kind of my point about the Jiricek move.

Couldn’t watch the game live, watched it late last night.

Yeah, Jojo is soft, everyone knows that in the nhl. But he is at least engaged this year more often than not. Last night a certain number 12, aka dumb arse dip ch!t sat around puck watching like a scared or bored 10 year old kid. Something is wrong with Boldy mentally. He is so high and/or wide it’s hysterical. Yeah, everyone does it in the nhl, but he’s perfecting it. The penalty where he gets pushed into the goalie is a bit of a stretch bad call, but we got away with a few last night. Bogo got away with one that absolutely was a penalty. NHL ref”F”ing, if someone really figures it out, write another book about the code.

Team as a whole seemed grumpy and just off. Kings are stingy defensively and our offense just couldn’t bury anything.

Have had my questions and doubts about Boldy for a while. Wickedly talented youngster. But his physicality is really lacking for his size, his puck watching gets old, his decision making skills when he has time to think is troublesome. He needs to start just getting shoots on net. Not sure who Rossi had as a trainer but Boldy needs to spend next summer living with that person 24/7. Rossi is a beast on the puck and seems to be emulating Ek in his young carrier. Boldy is on the top line and seems to be emulating Jojo. A cardboard cut out set in front of the net could score goals in this league with KK and Rossi. So many times last night from the pp to in our defensive end Boldy wasn’t moving at all. His lack of movement without the puck last night was staggeringly obviously horrible. His inconsistency of effort is irksome. Might start a score sheet on him and Jojo falling down with and without contact. Currently Boldy might win that race, and that’s not a good thing to be compared to Jojo who falls down constantly.

Was fine with the effort and the look of disgust on the wilds players losing like last night. They need a reality check. Was not fine with Boldy’s effort at all. He had zero fight in him and looks like a guy who has zero push back a lot of the times when stuff didn’t go his way. He needs to get way more mentally and physically tougher. Know he’s young and wickedly talented, but he’s got so much talent and potential that seems wasted a lot of the time. His ceiling is so high for his ability, just not sure he has what it takes long term with what is or isn’t between his ears. He needs to grind through his bad games and do something positive even if everything is going wrong for him on the ice. Chisholm didn’t have a good game but kept on grinding through it.

Last night it seemed like the exhaustion of not having Ek, Brodin or Zuccy really showed up. Which isn’t surprising. Team has way outplayed their pay scale comparatively. With a couple days off, hopefully the team can get a little r&r and bounce back. Will be interesting to see how the next game goes after a tough loss.

Pretty tough critique of a ppg player this year and at 23 is a 30/40 guy for his career and second in his draft class for points behind only Jack Hughes who has played in 100 more NHL games than Boldy.

4th in the NHL in shots, 1st on the Wild, and well over double Rossi

Boldy is not someone who really needs to be worried about. He is playing just fine and producing.

My only concern with Boldy is if he has a restraining order on Basseyes. Dude is obsessed
