Panic should have already been there, Panarin contract is up the same year Kaprizov is

Well it was, but now the meter has moved up several notches. I doubt Kaprizov would go there without Panarin there however, but nothing would surprise me.

Have we not showed Kirill how much we want to win sofar this season? )

If Kirill wanted to be in New York, my guess is only if he’s there for 8 seasons…that’s where Leopold puffs out his chest…

I think it’s more fans realizing the idea that “he can’t go places because of the cap” is BS. Where do Russians go… New York Washington and Florida. Rangers, Caps, and Panthers all have a $10m contract coming off the books the summer Kaprizov is could be a Free Agent

as we just witnessed, even teams with limited cap space can clear a ton of it in a matter of minutes if they find a suitor and aren’t afraid of taking a loss on return…

Kirill is going to go where he wants to go, the idea that winning or an 8 vs 7 year deal is going to influence him that much is just fairy dust…

I was replying to Musky’s comment about the panic meter going up with Rangers making cap space, seems relevant

I remember someone here really championing the idea Kirill is only going somewhere he can win and that no good team will have the cap space to fit him whistling

I fixed the quote for ya, that was me alright…its always good business practice to get rid of your captain 1/4 point of the season and get a conditional 4th rounder in return…you see alot of winning teams go that route…it’s going to take clearing alot more than $8 million to get enough for Kirill while doubling your goalies caphit to $12 million, plus Rangers fans love the Breadman, he’ll re-sign so i’m not scared of the Rangers (They’ll go after McDavid :), but if a team is crazy enough and can find willing teams, anything is possible… as they say, Gretzky was traded 3 times…

Florida scares me the most as Bob’s $10 million comes off the books when Kirill’s up and I think he already has a place there? no income tax doesn’t hurt either…

Note to NHL Forwards, when playing the Ducks, keep your head up when entering the zone or risk your life on the Trouba and Goudas tracks…

When your captain is a $2m player on a $8m contract it’s a dam good business practice to get him off the books for free

If new york loves the breadman just imagine how much they’d love the younger and upgraded version of him – even has the same sick flow and maybe Kirill goes skinhead someday too

you lost me after saying Trouba is a $2 million player…how would you value Ekblad or Ekholm? they are similar players…I agree he’s overpaid, but only when compared to guys who provide more offense, his defense, hitting and leadership are valued…

Would $4m help you sleep better tonight? He’s not good, and he gets paid a lot

6+ will help me sleep better, is Brodin vastly overpaid?

Is “stratosphere” the name of the back clinic? if so, I agree…

Good call on the back… The difference between Trouba and Brodin is that Brodin on IR is a huge loss for the Wild and Trouba on LTIR would have been a huge asset to the Rangers

There’s a reason they spent the last 6 months trying to trade the guy and that it took that long

Aren’t you the big “can’t make more than $2m on the bottom pair” guy – Trouba was falling to the bottom pair, and makes $8m this year and next year

Yeah, me too…the thing is I’m not sure there was anything else GMBG could have done with Kirill since he finally got here, he offered him a 8 year deal after his shortened due to his age and then 2 short covid seasons ELC was done with and he turned it down for a 5 year deal which was a huge leap of faith for a GM to make on a player 50 games into his NHL career…

Now he can offer him the max term deal as the highest paid wing in the world on a team currently 1st overall in the entire NHL and has the players & pieces in place to hopefully sustain that level of play for years to come….

GMBG and the Wild have done all they can, it’s just upto where Kirill wants to be moving forward…

Probably at his age and condition. He may not play another minute this year.

Kaprizov Rossi Boldy line putting on a clinic. Might be riding that line for a couple weeks

Faber’s wires just crossed and he drew a penalty jester

Could see some hesitation from the Rossi camp on signing a long term deal with his name constantly in trade rumors.

The only thing that makes sense to me on a Rossi trade is using him as part of a deal for big game hunting. Like the Alex Tuch part of the Eichel trade. Completely hypothetical here but think of someone like Brady Tkachuk or Tim Stutzle comes available.
