Ek is friggin hilarious, every single shift he starts something!

    He just smoked Sherwood!

Imagine playing against him and Hartman.

What is Rossi’s ceiling? He does his job and does it well given his age and experience. I wouldn’t mind seeing him get more time on the first line when things are right to do so. Worry he’s going to play himself out of MN

Merrill seems to be the weak link out there tonight…

Covering Hughes in 3-3 OT sounds scary as hell…

Funny how Kirill and Rossi barely celebrated the goal, they were both absolutely gassed!

That was the make up call for the crosscheck on Ek. It’s how the nhl ref’s work.

I don’t care what percentage of the cap he gets. We have never had a talent like that ever. May not ever again.

    Stick together dude.
I think I have watched it dozen times now. My 8 year old was actually watching live and called me into the room to watch it.
He actually asked what the 2×4 part was about as he has already heard top titty from his high school cousin.
Proud hockey dad moment there. Lol rotflol

On Chiclets today he said he calls Boldy 7/11 because Boldy thinks he’s always open… on Middleton’s goal tonight Boldy was slapping his stick on the ice calling for a one timer rotflol

Great game. I think Rossi and Kirill were just as releived Van didn’t bury the 2 on 0

He’s become my favorite Wild player off the ice. His interviews with Wild on 7th, Spittin Chiclets, and game interviews have been gold!

Great game overall and a great win to hold onto #1 in DA LEAGUE!!

I was at the game last night. My biggest takeaway was how huge the Vancouver D are.

I was fortunate enough to be able to be at the game last night. A couple thoughts from this thread’s official novice participant:

    1. Compared to the other major sports I think the NHL is head and shoulders above the others with overtime. Baseball and basketball (I’m told) is just a continuation of what you’ve been watching. Football has the added urgency of first team to score a TD wins, or any FG after the first possession. But NHL really feels like something special. 3×3 is fun to watch, just like we got this past Saturday vs. Nashville. And I know this can be polarizing but I love watching shootouts, there’s really nothing like a shootout in pro sports.

    2. Watching the team in person for the first time this year I’d agree with what others have said, that the defense has improved, as you don’t catch near as much away from the puck on TV.

I don’t care what percentage of the cap he gets. We have never had a talent like that ever. May not ever again.

Yeah I keep telling people to really start appreciating what we’ve got going on right now. “Superstar X gets the game-winner in OT” is something that has always been something we see from other teams but not ours. I don’t know how to compare KK to JJ (Justing Jefferson) because we’re also witnessing having our team have the best wide receive in football…but it’s just fun to be a fan of a team with one of the best superstars in the NHL who’s going to have an impact every night.

And my kids are getting Kaprizov jerseys for Christmas so they better not let him walk haha.

Yeah same. I had to look up Desharnais-6′ 7″. I told my wife he looked like if you played a video game and created a player and just kept growing him to a disproportionate size to everyone else.

They sure were going after Ek. He looked really hobbled in OT when he went off. Not good.

Full OT Video – Its funny how Kaprizov enters the zone a couple of times but then Jojo & Faber pull the puck back out into the neutral zone and Kirill just throws his head back like “WTF”

Looked like a direct knee on knee hit with DeBrusk and then he immediately grabbed for it…did not look good…

Lots to unpack from last night’s game.

Jake Middleton is solid gold as an interview. But enough about that, what I’m loving more is Jake Middleton pure goal scorer. How much does it mean to this team to have guys like Middleton and Jared Spurgeon pumping in some goals. Getting those D men in on the scoring has been absolutely huge.

Krill just doing Krill things in OT. Ho hum nothing to see here that’s anything new. But the whole thing was set up by the stick handling and pass by that clown that we just have to trade, Marco Rossi. Another epic assist, maybe this will finally help the GM realize that trading Rossi is as dumb as trying to trade Gus.

Are we ever going to get any League action to stop this b******* cross-checking in the back? Why is this still a thing in the nhl? Is it really going to take a a superstar getting crippled before the league is going to do anything about this? Because they sure don’t care about a guy like Ek getting hammered.

You could even hear the idiot ref saying something about how that cross-check “wasn’t enough”. Lapanta was just seething with anger during the broadcast and I don’t blame him one bit. This is complete b******* that the league could stop in a day if they wanted to.

And so of course the refs didn’t call the trip on KK. Now we have to engage in this bizarre makeup call b*******. Gary Betman’s NHL is just the dumbest league in all professional sports. The only league where they don’t care enough about the players to simply enforce the damn rules.

Just an awesome team win. I’d like to see us tighten up on the PK and again it’s just rather bizarre and frustrating that we’d rather have a 5:5 then a power play. But overall a great team win and pretty exciting hockey.

There’s a picture floating around showing Ek’s knee the moment he hit DeBrusk’s and it went backwards & sideways a bit, let hope its just a sprain…Russo reported he was limping badly after the game…

wasn’t it kind of a strange play were Ek was jumping up in the air to try and catch the floating puck and took a cross-check shot to the lower back, had he not jumped it probably would have been across his shoulder pads…

I agree it needs to be called more, but the NHL refuses to mandate the Refs call it…I believe they tried to mandate it several years ago in preseason where if the defending player had BOTH hands on their stick and cross-checked in any manor it was an immediate call? I don’t think that lasted very long…

GMBG was on Chad Hartman’s radio show this morning, said Ek is injured and will for sure miss next game, but its nothing long term…at some point we’re gonna run out of luck dodging these bullets…
