I think that was more on Kaprizov than Caggula… he cut into him… never was a knee stuck out.. hopefully Kirill comes back before period is over, otherwise he has to sit for 20 minutes

on the Kirill hit? What was wrong with it?

I dont like him taking hits either, but there was nothing the Oiler did but stand up a check… Kirill did a jump cut right into him…

Caggulia better keep his head on a swivel in the 3rd…

I finally got a chance to see the first goal on Flower last night…just ridiculous! It’s not enough that the puck banked off 3 different players and rolling through 2 pairs of feet, the puck friggin jumped off an ice ramp just before the crease…unreal…

Yeah that was about the flukiest goals I had ever seen. He probably shouldnt have played it like that but who would have thought it would have jumped like that on fresh ice?

Since this was another friggin ESPN Plus game, I only have the radio announcers description. They indicated it was a knee on knee hit.

They said that there was apparently no call so clearly they thought there could have or should have been one.

Hines spent about 5 minutes chewing on the referee. So he must have thought there was something wrong with it. At one point he could be heard to say to the referee it’s your job to protect these players from that. Whatever “that” was. Again from the radio call I assumed it was a knee/knee.

Grouse it was VERY borderline. To me it looked like Cagguila stuck his leg out a TINY bit but this game is so fast. It looked bad with Kirill laying on the ice and everyone wanting blood after the fact, but I am not sure it was really a penalty. And this is coming from a complete homer. If they had called it, fine, but I am also “ok” they didnt. Its not like we are talking about Tom Wilson.

Knees are tough calls because they look absolutely brutal any time a player goes down. I always think back to the Foligno match penalty in the playoffs that was just bogus because of how the Dallas player looked like he lost a leg. But last night I agree the right call was made, mayyyybe could have been a 2 minute penalty but for sure not a major. I was watching the Oilers broadcast and they couldn’t even figure out it was a knee on knee for a couple minutes, and to be fair I didn’t either until seeing the replay multiple times and from the right angle. I’m sure Walz and Lapanta were calling for Caggiula’s head

Since this was another friggin ESPN Plus game

    No it wasn’t

The Wild app and Google sports both listed it as ESPN+ with no other options. It was not on Fan Duel North, the were showing basketball.

    So what was it on?

LOL every game is listed as ESPN+
Seems like maybe a sub worth having

Anthony Lapanta and Wes Walz were on the call. Who do they work for?

It was on FanDuel last night. Perhaps the alternate because I think the Wolves were also playing.

It was the Ballys/Fanduel EXTRA channel, they use both of their channels when the Wolves and Wild play at the same time…more me on Xfinity in the northern burbs it was channel 963…

Well it’s just a little tough to know this when the wilds own schedule only listed ESPN plus. I guess the logical thing to do now is to scan all possible channels. Welcome to the wacky new world of NHL broadcasts. Where is the game on? Hell even the team doesn’t know.

Grouse don’t make this harder than it needs to be just because you’re confused, just learn from it. NHL lists every game that’s not a TNT or NHL Network exclusive as ESPN+… because it’s available to watch on ESPN+

Not sure that’s a reason to be mad at ESPN+

Not sure where you’re getting the “mad at ESPN+” deal.

The point was that the Wild app and Google Sports both, strangely, listed only ESPN+ as the only broadcast option for last night’s game. Which clearly was not the case. I’ve never used the NHL app to look up broadcast listings, it’s always been listed correctly in the Wild app.

Anyway, thanks for your concern. Listening on the radio has the upside of not having to listen to Wes on color commentary. Although it could be worse, they could bring back Gigi.

I can agree with that, thus why I sometimes listen to the away broadcast. Good to hear outsiders’ take on the team every once in awhile

I expected Kirill to be out today, my guess is he woke up yesterday & today and felt soreness in that knee…

If the Wild win today he’ll likely also sit out the Jets game to give it more time to heal, if they lose, he’ll probably push to play vs Jets…

Do we not have better/other names to call up this year? Does Iowa have some injuries right now as well? Or is the thought really just get more names some time with the big dogs in case we’re in a similar situation later this season again?

Wth is wrong with nhl ref’s? Seriously, it’s getting worse and not sure how that’s possible? And yes it’s gone for us too. Just call the game.

    One after another tonight. Awful.

On the goaltender interference call near the end of the second… the closest of the two officials didn’t even call it.

Then this most recent high sticking on Hartman. Brutal.

Haha. I was going to comment yesterday that they lost on Friday to ASU at home.

Their pairwise ranking plummeted from 1 to 8th. Yikes
