Nobody saw what happened to Ek. They showed his whole shift and nothing. Slafkovski hit him a few times but he seemed fine afterwards.

No clue on Ek and no explanation. Hockey is such a weird sport.

For playing a team who’s dead last in goals against and differential, that was a pretty boring game. Oh well boring wins count too, quiet shutout for Gus.

Weren’t some great hockey minds of IDO ripping on Ovi for empty net goals recently?? whistling

Wes Walz even took time away from giving line shift times or Freddy’s faceoff stats on the broadcast to mention Kirill’s excessive turnovers in the game last night… now that’s saying something…

Zuccy was probably pi$$ing blood, in his presser, somebody asked Hynes if he went to the hospital, he didn’t know…

    hope Ek’s injury wasn’t a non-contact, those are the scary ones…

And that’s about where it falls on the list of important things
    1. Shift length down to the hundredth of a second
    2. Freddy’s faceoffs
    3. Kirill’s turnovers

Sounds like it was based on this: “Out came Eriksson Ek, and his night ended with 6:18 left when it looked like he took an awkward stride in front of the net and pulled up grimacing.”

At least I didn’t hear a Jacque LeMaire reference last night.

lol, for a near perfect player, it’s something he needs to get better at, but I know his creativity is a 2 way street and we’ll gladly take the turnovers for 30 points in 16 games. Last night was just particularly brutal early on…one shift he had 3 bad turnovers in about a 45 second stretch the last one leading to a top of the slot shot that GusBus made a nice save on. The TV cameras showed him skating off the ice clearly frustrated with himself…Walz pointing it out stood out as he’s the biggest fanboy on the telecasts, I can’t wait for Carter to get back on TV…

Sure was! I was lucky to be on the end to watch that play. The first period seemed like the X was uninterested in watching and just a calm buzz in the crowd.

We could do without any more friendly fire incidents now.

That JoJo feed to Boldy was just beautiful. Even on the replay it happened so fast it’s hard to see it.

And Freddy Hockey needs to get some credit he was the one that stole the puck to feed it to KK for the empty netter. That was a superior defensive effort he just outright took the puck away.

Kaprizov is trying to pass the puck into the back of the net. He went through several bouts of this last season too.

That was bad last night when Spurgeon got hit in the face. Suddenly the wild bench looked positively spacious. That was just a nasty stick shaft to the face and very careless. Glad the wild got a 4 minute out of that and everybody’s favorite trade target Rossi showed once again why we’d be out of our damn minds to trade him. Russo are you going to stop talking about it now?

I thought Chisholm was solid last night. It’s nice to have some reliable depth. Obviously the best defense is Gus stopping everything.

I thought Chisholm looked really good as well, he had a couple of walk the blueline escapes that were down right Makaresc…he just needs to get more consistent (he’ll have a good game and then 2 meh games)…but that also comes with more playing time…

I gave Freddy his flowers a week or so ago, he’s definitely played alot better the past 6-8 games…

Freddy has certainly been playing a lot better and JoJo has been playing a bit better too.
I wish KK would shoot more instead of pass. I mean, the opposition doesnt expect him to pass so it gets them off guard but there are many times he makes a pass where he had a great chance we have seen the crazy shots he has made and instead the pass doesnt pan out and results in a turnover.

Jojo was invisible for the past 12 games until last night…Kirill forcing a pass attempt to him on that 2-1 was a questionable decision, especially with the goalie overplaying it, Kirill’s face on the bench afterwards looked like he felt the same way…

Zuccy had surgery last night (likely a ruptured ball – F’ing Ouch!) he’s out 3-4 weeks…

Ek & Brodin are day-to-day (aren’t we all) chance one or both could play tomorrow night vs Dallas….

Its a strange recovery timeline, could be less, could be more…

I hope they load up the 1st line with Kirill – Rossi – Boldy

    doesnt he wear a cup?

I bet he can’t wait to answer that question 15 times when he gets back…my guess is he (like most pros) wears older equipment he’s had forever…so even a wrist shot can do damage, probably shattered the friggin thing… ok.. now I suddenly have a stomach ache..

When I was in HS we had this big FB coach who was also an assistant hockey coach. He would take the hardest shots on the goalies and he broke the cup of my buddy and he was bleeding. I dont think he needed surgery. The coach thought it was funny. Everyone called him peanut, but he was a nut job and probably on roids. Jamie has had kids so everything still worked LOL

Fluery is online right now ordering him a billet aluminum machined cup anodized in Wild green with Zuc’s name laser engraved on it. He’ll present it to him during a tv interview.
