Yeah it doesn’t make sense to me either. Yeah they’re shorthanded but that disparity is ridiculous.

Just makes zero sense how a team that’s consistently one of the best defensive at 5v5 can consistently be one of the worst at 4v5

Its either the strategy or the players (PK Strategies don’t differ much at the NHL level, so are the PK players not willing to block shots? not remembering to get sticks in passing lanes? not able to clear out the crease area? etc)

Boldy and Faber just didn’t communicate with each other last night on the switch, no idea why Faber would back down so low leaving Fiala when he’s looking directly at Boldy who took his spot – https://youtu.be/321o9E97N7I?t=352

lots of lazy examples from last night’s game though (Gus getting back in the crease, Lauko letting his guy get his own rebound, Rossi lazy netfront coverage on Byfeild, Marat doing nothing in front of the net on 2 goals against, etc…)

Hopefully its just a blip on the radar game…

Why would the wild consider calling up and starting Milne over wallstedt? Make it make sense!

Um one is a goalie and one is a forward. How is it interchangeable in your mind?

He was a 3rd round pick a few years ago, Iowa’s leading scorer this season. Likely a callup just to motivate those guys to play better as there are a couple of more Pro Ready guys they could have called up instead…

This will create some interesting times in college hockey.

Everything in this decision revolves around money and I suppose if your a top player and choose a top school, you’ll earn alot more NIL money in College vs weekly stipend/per diem in the CHL (yes, I know NIL isn’t much for college hockey players right now, but its increasing…)

oh and the free college education for however long you stay…

There’s a bunch of NHL interests this decision also impacts around player availability, signing windows, development camp participation, etc… that will most likely all fall into the next NHL CBA in 2026

Yeah what on earth is going on there? Saros can’t save a beach ball right now either and the team just can’t score. I was expecting big things from them, and I have a friend who gave a prediction at the start of the season that the preds were going to be a big disappointment this year… I called him an idiot for saying that. Safe to say I won’t remind him.

Kirill just somehow puts the puck on zuccs stick sometimes. It just teleports there. That assist was unreal.

9-2-2 and they are six points out of first. Good lord Jets.
Safe to say KK is not having a slow start to this year. 151 point pace. shock

I knew the Jets would be good. But hot damn! Hellebuyck is playing amazing! The Wild are a pleasant surprise as well. KK97 has been fun to watch, no doubt. Boldy’s contract is already a steal and he’s locked in for 5 more years. IDK what they are going to do with Trennin.. 3.5Mil for 4 years!? WTH was GMBG seeing & thinking? No one is going to take his contract on in a trade..

I didn’t see a second of the game but just watched the recap so I know exactly what happened. My expert analysis is the sharks are a real bad team and Celebrini is real good. Half the Wild players had a point – Hartman was one who didn’t and he had a goal and assist taken away by offsides challenge haha tough night rotflol

Oh also saw a PP1 goal and 3-3 on the PK – special teams are back???

Jets start hot every year OK maybe not *this* hot, but I still don’t like their roster aside from having the best goalie who also happens to be red hot right now. They were winning the presidents trophy last year mid-january then the real Jets showed up rest of the way and got spanked in the playoffs

I thought the same thing. But the tear they are on is a little extra from normal.

I think it was a needed gamble to do something about the PK from GMBG. Kudos to him for doing something about it, but the term and how trenin is playing are not looking good right now.

Pitchforks already out for Trenin is pretty ironic considering next summer is supposed to be the big UFA frenzy. UFAs with new teams start slow all the time, no better example than Nashville (holy F I didn’t realize they were still #32). 13 games in and fans are already sending Trenin to the pressbox and the AHL, couple more games I’m sure they’ll be signing the buyout paperwork lol have a little patience.

The people that are trashing Trenin what are they actually expecting him to be doing more of? I mean he has been pretty good on the PK since he was added. He has been very physical, but he could certainly be stronger with the puck and forecheck maybe better, but he was never going to be a big point producer. If you expected that, you were sold something that wasnt as advertised. I never expected that from him.

I think they want him to be more like Lauko… who has been on ice for 2x as many 5v5 goals against while getting 1/3 less ice time and against weaker competition.
