Hoping next season the Wild goes the private streaming route

I hope it never goes to that. I hate streaming live sports.

Their Wild.com Jets game stream worked really well the other night… My guess is they used that game (and the 2 Prospects Tourney games) as a sort of trial test… otherwise they’ve always used youtube as their stream platform in the past…

Whatever direction they go in the future, next season will NOT be on Ballys…

I don’t really want another stream to subscribe to. I know others don’t have Bally’s so I guess I’ll take one for the team but I’m not getting rid of DirecTV stream.

That’s my issue too. You need too many platforms and they want you to buy them all to get what you want. I aint caving into that nonsense.

If Kirill tells a team he wants to come there, they’ll make room. There’s maybe 5 teams in the league that wouldn’t find a way to make it work.

Panarin in 2019 is the perfect comparable… Rangers, Islanders, Panthers, and Avalanche were the teams offering him 14% of the cap. Every single one of them have been contenders since then.

You lost me at Islanders were contenders…and sure, any team CAN make room, but at what cost to their existing team? Do they truly net if they need to unload 2-3 real good & important players in order to sign Kirill? That’s why they usually go with the deadline rental stars instead…

I am pretty sure the Islanders went just as far as the Rangers have in recent playoff memory. Eastern Conference Finals.

Based on what, your hunch? Or do you now have an inside connection with the Wild’s draft on steaming platform options?

I don’t get the hate on Bally’s? Where did they hurt you?

I like watching the Wild just as much and the rest of you, but if they’re on Bally’s I’ll watch them, if not I guess I’m not sure what I’ll do. Likely just adapt and not watch much hockey like I did this summer with the Twins.

Maybe Joe’s problem is their recent history of problems. You can’t count on them to broadcast your team. You can’t count on them to have a current agreement with your provider. You don’t know how many games they will lose to ESPN+.

It makes me look back fondly on the days of FSN and VS where I knew I had every game available to watch.

is this a LaPantha burner account?

Based on the last year of the Wild’s TV deal with a company that has filed for bankruptcy…

Conference finals two years in a row, lost to Tampa in game 7 the years Tampa won the cup.

So does that mean you already have your spot chosen for the parade route when the Wild reach the second round?

No, it’s fun making these comments just to see how people respond burner account.

So how many Wild games were you not able to watch last year due to this bankruptcy?

Again, why is this Bally’s fault? The Wild is the team getting paid by Bally’s to broadcast their games. It’s just as much the Wild’s choice as Bally’s.

Do you not know that Ballys is getting out of the Sports TV business? they failed to make it work and filed for bankruptcy… Outside of their terrible streaming app, I’ve never been critical of Ballys themselves. This season the Wild couldn’t get a different broadcast solution up and running in time (other NHL/NBA sports teams did) so they were basically forced into playing out the final year of their contracted deal, up until a few months ago nobody knew what the Wild/Wolves TV solution was going to be this season…

My anger and frustration is with Comcast who ultimately forced existing Bally customers to increase their TV service by $15-$20 this season just to get the same channel they got last year without the price increase…

    Huh?

    Why are you spouting nonsense?

The “assumption” is if Kirill doesn’t want to re-sign with the Wild its likely because he doesn’t think they can compete for a cup… Do you know many Cup contenders that can take on a $13+ aav caphit without likely losing some players that made them a contender in the first place?

He could also just hate living in Minnesota and nothing is going to fix that other than Kirill moving somewhere else…

I’ve always said the Wild won’t get anything close to full value back as Kirill holds the cards, just like Fiala did and forced a deal to LA, my point regarding the Chicago rumor is that they have so many prospects and picks that they would probably be willing to offer more up than other teams if needed…

“Why would they offer up more knowing he only wants to go there. (If that is truly where he wants to go)”

The idea that the Wild controls any influence on Kirill’s decision is just silly other than they can offer him a max 8 year deal vs 7 if he’s traded elsewhere…We can talk about our prospects, Chicago and other teams can talk about their prospects, we can talk about future capspace like any other team can, but all of that can change on a year to year basis…

Its all upto where Kirill wants to be for another 9 years…

“You have been pounding the drum about him only wanting to win a cup which is probably just a percentage of why he would want to go elsewhere. I could go back and find dozens of threads where you mentioned this and true cup contenders not having the space to make it work. So it’s not nonsense.”

Florida Panthers made it work with Tkachuck. How did that work out for the two teams involved?

    I’ve been pounding the drum?

It’s literally the only thing that’s been mentioned by every MN Wild talking head regarding the possibility of him signing elsewhere, “he wants to go to a team that has a path to win a cup” GMBG has 1+ years to prove to Kirill the Wild has it”…If anything I’ve pointed out why that argument doesn’t make sense for Kirill as the Wild has a plan in place to compete for a cup, they can also sign him for 8 years on a mostly blank check, it’s top players are locked in on good long term deals and we have a boatload of ELC players hoping to take on key roster spots over the next 1-3 years…

If you’re the Wild and forced to trade him, you’d love to get that type of quality return back the Flames got for Tkachuck forcing himself out, that trade just looks heavily tilted towards Florida right now because Huberdeau had a bad season and Calgary is rebuilding and then Florida puts 2 great seasons together back to back with a cup win due to a goalie resurgence nobody saw coming and Tkachuck, Reinhardt and several castoffs playing so well together (kudos to their GM for fitting those puzzle pieces together)

I’ve said numerous times including a few posts earlier today that I don’t think any contender is going to gut their squad to afford 1 player other than a playoff rental typically acquired with high draft picks…. Outside of the extremely rare star for star trade (like Florida/Calgary) it never happens….

Yeah never happens…stars never move they just stay with the same team because other teams can’t pay them.
We should probably just stop even discussing it. KK is locked in to wild without a doubt.

I guess the only question is if he gets to be the first to raise the cup for the wild or if one of the future prospects gets to raise it first.

Knowing BG he will probably put his skates on and take the first lap when they beat Crosby in the Stanley Cup in Montreal. I mean Spurgeon is probably to small to raise it by himself.
