Ek had another great scoring chance last night from 18 inches away like always but Hill made a decent save after a great pass. Cant remember if the pass was KK97 or Boldy though.

Ek is allowing Kirill and Boldy to run wild. Perfect example is Boldy flying the zone for the breakaway, but that wasn’t the only time. When Boldy had Rossi as a center, he ends up defending down low most of the time and those chances to fly the zone are gone.

The other 3 lines just need to not get scored on, and they’re doing that so far. Fair to assume Hynes trusts Freddy more than Rossi to not get scored on. Same for Hinostroza, he can be a turnover machine exiting the zone and through the neutral zone. Vegas would feast on that.

I could see them swapping Nyquist and Trenin, but Trenin is the only thing giving that 4th line a chance. Foligno-Hartman-Trenin would be the ultimate momentum line. Pure chaos, like Foligno’s goal last night. Hartman just chucks a puck at the net from the sidewall and gets a bounce to himself.

so back to the question, how does that get Rossi going? There’s no easy answers, but you can’t just give up on the kid…

    Pay attention, Joe:

I think Rossi’s confidence is completely gone. He looks like a beaten dog. Agree they need to get him going, but how?

Mark Grace solved this riddle, he needs a slump buster. Nordeast at bar close should get him right.

Ha but for real, I have no idea. I wouldn’t mess with the Freddy line. I think they’ve been just fine considering what is expected from them. Best way to get Rossi going is probably to simply beat Vegas, and then Edmonton should be a better matchup for him. Just keep him away from McJesus.

Watching the Washington vs Montreal game and finally getting a chance to watch Lane Hutson during a game vs just his highlights and my god he doesn’t play ANY defense other than stick checking and lunging poke-checks. It’s pretty crazy, but I guess you put up with it when he produces offense….

    Oilers in 3? crazy

Yeah, I think its time to write of Edmonton. Loads of offensive talent, but their defense and goal tending pretty much kills them every single time.

HA! I literally said that about halfway thru the game when the announcer said his name, “Oh that’s right they got him…”

Wild have looked like they belong through 2 games. Advantage Wild that penalties aren’t getting called, they’ve been solid 5 on 5 so far.

It’s been fun watching Zeev finally play with the big club, but clearly that third pairing isn’t working and Bogo isn’t coming out. Swap in Mr. Merrill for Zeev. I’d be fine seeing Vinnie get a game.

Although I think LA comes out on top, don’t forget where Edmonton was last year in the finals. They have too much fire power to count out already.

I have a feeling Zeev produces his 1st NHL point tonight…I would understand if Hynes had pulled him out for tonight, but Hynes also might be thinking 9 out of 10 games Zeev is going to outplay Merrill or Chisholm, so i’m gonna keep him in…

Let’s not forget Zeev has only had 2 actual practices and 4 morning skates with the team since arriving…his nerves should be back to normal by now (maybe a little higher tonight being his first home game)

I just meant it doesn’t exactly help his cause to raise his value.
