Not much of a mystery anymore, Russo reported it was an minor injury that “nagged” him the first few months of the season, they then tried the month’s worth of rest option to see if the issue would calm down, he then tried playing 3 games and said no-go and got surgery…
The month of rest option doesn’t point to any type of knee ligament issue as those don’t heal by themselves…so that points to a Groin strain that likely turned into a sports hernia…That also aligns well with the team source saying it was a routine procedure and all went well.
The problem with all of that is a Sports Hernia typically takes 4-6 weeks to recover from (Yanni Gourde was back from his in 4 weeks) so the longer this drags out doesn’t make much sense…
