I’d rather hear he’s done for the season rather than keep us in limbo for no reason. He’s not even close to skating and yet mum’s the word??? WTF. Seriously.

Really wish I could be excited about the playoffs. But to watch them get pounded and have ANOTHER first round exit really doesn’t do anything for me.

Reading between the lines on Hynes comments on Kaprizov, the Wild are cooked. My prediction is that not only is KK not coming back this season, but he probably needs an additional surgery.

What did I miss? I only heard Hynes say Kirill and Ek haven’t started skating yet, but they are getting their off ice rehab work in every day? (I did miss the 3rd period though so was it post game comments?) The last real update we got from Russo and GMBG (it was awhile ago) was that Kirill’s surgery went as planned and they didn’t find anything else worrisome about the injury when they repaired it…

but, if what you’re suggesting turns out to be true, then i’m glad GMBG didn’t waste the resources to make a bigger move at the deadline as this team isn’t ready to truly compete without its superstar…

They had a fantastic start to the season, but once the injuries started compounding they were doomed. They held on for a while, but then other teams woke up and more injuries piled on and now potentially more from last night. I mean if Rossi is out for a while that is really going to stink and make things tough. He never seems to have an off game.

He never seems to have an off game

He’s been pretty invisible the past 5-7 games…hopefully this is just a bruise issue and he’s out a few games and can recharge his batteries a bit and come back refreshed…

SOmetimes that is good. If it isnt obvious as in he did something bad, that is good.
I however watch him very closely and he is constantly stealing the puck away from people in the corner. REad my comment a couple pages back about “even when Rossi crosschecks someone he does it politely”. He was battling for the puck with a guy about a foot taller than him, gave him a subtle shot at the perfect time and stole the puck and centered a pass. He was doing the same thing in the last game and he has been doing better on FOs at least the game a couple games ago when I was really paying attention to it because it seemed like they were all doing better albeit against a poor FO team.

Now that is a fluke play! At first I thought it may have been intentional, but his skate got stuck. Lucky guy there.

What would be the better option… Tell you he’s done for the season? Not sure how that helps.

And how does hiding it help? Like the fans will be so excited that we made the playoffs that we won’t notice KK is still missing?

Absolutely no one believes that the Wild is in a position to make a deep run with or without KK. So what are they really hiding by playing games with his return status?

Every NHL team hides injuries. There’s nothing to be gained by giving every last injury detail to other teams. Especially on a superstar player they’re hoping to extend this summer. I doubt Kirill and his agent want the injury info made public. I just don’t see any reason why they’d release any more injury information than they’re required to.

I’m definitely curious what it is and would love to know when he’s going to be back. But I also don’t feel entitled to that information just so I can sit back and play armchair GM

again, what new was said about Kirill? The last projection GMBG gave out publicly was that they believe Kirill will be back with a few games left in the regular season… That date is April 6th or 11th depending on getting him 6 or 3 of the final regular season games…

Just based on timing likely needed to get back into NHL game shape prep, I would say if he doesn’t start skating in the next 3-5 days, then the idea of him not getting back for the regular season is more likely…Then the plan shifts to giving him the most amount of recovery time available (through the end of the season and the few days off before the round 1 playoff series start on April 20th)

or they keep him re-habing and bring him back if/whenever they can in the series….

Well there was a big change after 4 nations. Started as “4-6 weeks” (Feb 28-March 14) and then was pushed back to “planning to have him back before end of regular season”. And now it seems fans are panicking since he isn’t skating yet.

Between that and how he originally went out mysteriously after Christmas break, then returned for 3 games or whatever. There’s definitely been setbacks and things have not gone as planned. I get the frustration from fans, and I’m sure the team and player are even more frustrated. Still don’t get why they would share all the details.

That’s just because it finally puts an actual date (at least 5-7 days just based on other player recovery timelines) until he’s possibly back playing games…Brodin started skating 4-5 days ago and sounds possible to return next game…

If Rossi’s blocked shot injury turns out to be more than just a bruise and keeps him out for a month+ like Brodin, then we need a serious friggin sage cleansing of the locker room with all the bad juju we’re carrying around…

how he originally went out mysteriously after Christmas break, then returned for 3 games or whatever.

Not much of a mystery anymore, Russo reported it was an minor injury that “nagged” him the first few months of the season, they then tried the month’s worth of rest option to see if the issue would calm down, he then tried playing 3 games and said no-go and got surgery…

The month of rest option doesn’t point to any type of knee ligament issue as those don’t heal by themselves…so that points to a Groin strain that likely turned into a sports hernia…That also aligns well with the team source saying it was a routine procedure and all went well.

The problem with all of that is a Sports Hernia typically takes 4-6 weeks to recover from (Yanni Gourde was back from his in 4 weeks) so the longer this drags out doesn’t make much sense…

Yes, I’m absolutely speculating, that’s all we can do…

What were the perceived strengths of Brazeau? Weren’t they like Good hands and a strong net front game? He’s got neither…

He’s gotta be one of the worst NHLers I’ve ever seen… its comical watching him out there…

    Ask the grand wizard.

Safe to say KK injury wasn’t just a sports hernia?

for those worried about Jiricek’s lack of games, Joe Smith reported that Jiricek understands why he’s not getting in the lineup (likely because our RH shot defenseman are all playing well and the Wild doesn’t like to play D on their offhand side) and is working hard during practices to improve on areas he needs to…He also included a slight shot at the AHL saying its much better practicing in the St Paul vs Iowa… )

Just nice to read he’s not complaining like he did in Columbus…

It also allows the skating coaches to directly work with him….he and likely 5-6 other Iowa Wild guys will all get called up soon as Black Aces anyways…

Billy G is on WCCO at 1:00 today – maybe he’s going to tell us all exactly what’s going on with Kirill lol

Missed the first 10 minutes of last nights game… would have liked to see the team scoring goals for once. Great win yesterday though! I miss KK97
