ok, so to recap the deadline for the Wild, keep in mind ANY success will depend on if Kirill and Ek coming back healthy and can somehow pick up where they left off (although Ek has had a down year)

I like the Nyquist trade as he can help in secondary scoring and maybe the PK, but I don’t know what Brazeau gives us? (Not that Marat and Lauko were giving us much when they were here) but he’s not physical, he doesn’t kill penalties and he’s not a great skater…is GMBG really counting on him to score goals from the 4th line?

I’m glad We didn’t overpay for a rental (some will question the 2nd rounder for Nyquist, but that was the going price for retention added)…to put up a comparable deal the Avs paid for Brock Nelson would have cost us Danila Yurov, 2026 1st round pick, Declan Chisholm and a 3rd round pick…Maybe i’d feel a little better if they signed him this offseason knowing it cost the Avs so much for a rental…

I just hope Nelson is a rental there

“not a rental at that price paid… Lou did really well aided by tons of teams desperate for center help jacking up the price…

A Wild equivalent prospect would have been Yurov…”

You’re a gem Joe. Thanks for the entertainment the last few days. Can’t wait to subscrube to you when you take over for Russo. You can waiver and have so much conviction at the same time like the best of them. I enjoy it.

Hopefully he wants to come home after hoisting the cup.

Did I miss something with a color scheme change for Vancouver?

Throwbacks. Never should have changed from those.

Lots of college and NFL football teams have gone to matte coloring on their helmets but I haven’t seen a hockey team do it until Vancouver tonight.

Not much game excitement if all it’s generating is uniform talk.

I was hoping to see the new guy play tonight but I think I blinked twice and missed him.

Khustnidinov and Lauko dealt to Boston for forward Justin Brazeau.

Brazaeu has 10 goals and 10 assists this season.

This guy we got from Boston… wtf was Billy thinking?

“He’s good down low with the puck”

    Ummmm, He isn’t….

We now have Freddy soft as a marshmallow Gaudreau in front of if the net on the PP…. What is Hynes doing? I get that nobody else is doing anything, but Freddy in front of the net is a white flag…

So he is not a Jason Allison clone?
    Awe shucks.

Again I missed him again as I blinked twice. All four minutes of ice time seem worth the trade. Cripes the wild have a guy they picked up off waivers playing on the first line. Not sure how you know he isn’t good down low with the puck. Has he even touched the puck yet?

I was at a trapshooting thing and couldn’t watch the game but did I hear correctly that the wild were 1 for 6 on the PP? And the PP goal was by Hartman?

From the bit of the post game that I caught, it didn’t sound like a good game.

GMBG should get on the phone and see if he can sign the Kraft kid from Moorhead….

He is probably part of his next 8 year plan. whistling

The wild play checkers while the rest of the central plays chess. Whether that changes after the buyouts remains to be seen.

Why not bring Matt Cullen back as well as coach? What in the world is going on with Kaprizov? Has he even been seen or heard of?

Russo’s gamer from yesterday mentioned Kirill, Ek and Brodin ALL still haven’t started skating yet… isn’t this week 7 after Kirill’s surgery?

All tough games this week, need to win 2 out of 3….

Russo actually went after BG in his article today.
    KK last game was 1/26.

I don’t get the Athletic so I don’t know what Russo said about BG but if it’s on the negative side it don’t matter. Russo will be locked out for awhile now. I think BG gets emotional over that sort of thing.

Basically said this summer is kind of put up or shut up sort of thing. Not that harsh Russo is not that dumb. I can agree on some fronts as I think it will be an offseason that change needs to happen. If it doesn’t then the questions need to be asked what are we doing here.
I think Russo has been pushing a little harder on BG lately especially around the deadline. Which he should. That’s his job. BG certainly didn’t like it and made it know in his comments back.
He is also probably a little crabby with how they have been playing and the injuries as a whole.

There’s a plan. Sell hope. The end.

I hope that is not the plan but until we are shown otherwise I can’t blame those that think that.

5 years of cap hell and it has been used as an excuse by management. It’s legitimate but if they don’t make significant moves this off season then I think a lot more people will be singing your tune. I will be one of them.

Frankly if they can’t resign KK it will probably get much worse before it gets better.

Well at least worse unless you are the kind that like prospect rankings.

The dumpster fire that is this fan base currently because of Russo’s article is reasonable imo. I think people forget where this team was 3 months ago (People are calling for Bill’y head in the comment section), but man their are voids and question marks everywhere.

I am curious to see how the tone would shift after a 3 game win streak.

I am even more curious to see how everyone’s tone would change after we get boy wonder up here from DU.

Funny how winning and losing has a tendency to do that.
Russo for sure stoked some flames when he pressed the LTIR option to make a move this year.

Am fine with BG. Am fine selling hope for now, it’s all they got and all they can do. As a 52 yr old hockey fan born and raised in the state of hockey, just gets frustrating. There’s been a lot of hope sold over the years and it tends to fall on deaf ears after so long. Put in the stars leaving and then winning a cup only adds to the frustration.

I am not surprised he didnt do that. If they had been on the cusp of winning the division and not riddled with injuries I think he may have went for it.

They wouldnt have been able to. They would not have had the space to do so. I think Russo point was to use the LTIR space to get a guy in here to help now and in the future.

The excuse of it cost to much for those guys sure. But we gave up a first round pick for a guy that’s in the press box nightly and some of the FA that moved resigned. Their prospects are all just that still and we went and got Nyquist and a guy that’s plays 4 minutes a game. Meanwhile Ohgren can’t even get called up over some of these scrubs. The FA market next year isn’t exactly stellar with a lot of older guys and then Brock. Not a chance they sign Nylander.

I am with ya. I am not a BBall guy but what the wolves did last year I can only dream of the wild doing. Not sure my ticker could even take that in hockey.
I think it would actually go if the won a cup. I could go a happy man though.

I’ve been looking forward to watching the FLA/BOS game all day before the wild game starts. Sure is weird without Marchand in black and yellow.

If Matthew comes back healthy for the playoffs, that line is going to be entertaining.

The longer it stays 0-0 the better chance they have.

Doesn’t make for very entertaining style of hockey but at this point it seems like the best plan.
