The sky is falling
It all started when you said they were a lock for the playoffs…
I never brought him up because I figured no way would Buffalo trade him but I now see him listed on trade boards everywhere, but Alex Tuch coming back to the Wild would be pretty sweet…He’s got 1 more year at $4.75
You just know Billy would love to have him, can you imagine a Tuch-Ek-Boldy 2nd line?
but why would Buffalo trade him?
Are we talking about the same Boldy that leads the team in points. 2nd in goals 1st in assists. Is that the same Boldy that is 2nd in points in his draft class?
[/quote]
yes that Boldy.
But at what point is he going to play his disappearing act?
That’s my point, will he disappear or will he catch fire?
Right now he’s somewhere in the middle.
Well he is not far off of a ppg so he doesn’t disappear for long.
I think it’s funny when people criticize a 23 year old that was just part of team USA.
Do we have the worst pk in the league yet? That’s a bold strategy leaving a guy wide open at the top of the slot…
Wild on the verge of dropping to 4th in the division. They have a nice little team, done some good things, but overmatched against the top teams. The amount of injuries is ridiculous but actually a convenient excuse for a team that has excuses every season.
Back to back powerplays and we get ZERO shots on goal and can barely get into the friggin zone…
Embarrassing.
The sky has fallen.
Tank for draft picks.
Um they don’t have a first round pick.

Sure will be nice when they can spend equally as the rest of the league.

Exactly!
LOL time to tank the season. Geez you guys. Sounds more like Vikings fans than Wild hockey fans.
Honestly I did not see them keeping one of the three top spots in the central this season with the Jets, Stars, and Avalanche still looking pretty good. I thought they could pick up a wild card spot though, and they appear to still be on pace for that.
Calgary is 8 points behind them, with 2 games in hand. Its time to start scoreboard watching…
I’m seeing reports we’re interested in trading for Gus Nyquist? He would be a good depth rental piece, but doesn’t move the needle much if its our only trade…
We would likely need Nashville to retain 50% of his $3.1 caphit if we have other moves in mind, that will up the price we pay…
Nyquist + 50% retained caphit for a 2026 2nd round pick…
My guess is that’s alot more than what they wanted to pay, but there were likely other teams bidding…
This probably started as a 3rd rounder going to Nashville but to then retain 50% cost them an additional round higher pick… GMBG only makes that tradeoff if he intends to pick up another player…
I’m good with it. Kind of hurting on contributing bodies right now.
Pi$$ missile sent down. Not a surprise had to make room because Hartman still counts against roster.
GMBG told Russo any other trades for the Wild will be “penny in, penny out” as BOTH Kaprizov and Ek will be back before the end of the season, so NO ltir capspace will be available…
Nyquist is our likely only deadline pickup…
I did not watch the first half of the game today and really don’t like day games, especially on Sundays. This is one the slowest, most boring games I’ve seen in a long time.
Without our top guys, we just look like we’ve given up. Been a grind of games lately.
Did TNT copy espns on-ice mics? Or is the X just that quiet today?

That should keep the tank for picks guys happy.
Safe to say that was a huge win for the Wild today, especially with the teams below us in the playoff race losing…Nice to see GusBus dialed in again… Middleton’s play lately is a bit alarming, turnover machine…
Almost inevitable that the Avs overtake the Wild in the central, so basically we’re trying to hold on to a Wild Card slot long enough to get Ek and KK back.
Nice to hold on yesterday for the win but not exactly confidence inspiring play.
I’m not overcome with the feeling that this is the year for a deep playoff run, that’s for sure.

That’s fair and could be true, but once you get into the playoffs, ANYTHING can happen…IF this team can get healthy and play like they did the first 35-40% of the season (they were up near the best record in the entire league) then they can do some damage in the playoffs…
We’ll get Buium for the playoffs too, he’s a complete Wildcard (They treat him like Faber and he’s impactful or they slowly bring him along and he’s not impactful in the playoffs)
That’s what GMBG is hoping for…
Would 100% rather them have a wild card spot to avoid the Stars and face the Jets or Vegas in round 1. Then hopefully be healthy when it counts.
Agree though I’m not optimistic for a big playoff run, I just can’t get over all the blowouts. But also wouldn’t be shocked by a couple playoff round Ws if they have the full squad.

They actually talked about this a bit during the broadcast last night. They mentioned the exact thing you did, avoiding the Stars. Biz even said they would be best off to be last team in.
The other thing that will make easier for them to stay in the playoffs is their schedule. Only 7 of the next 21 games are against current playoff teams. I really wish they would make a move, but it is looking like they are waiting for next year to do that.
