    Still………

I am actually in favor of them resting the older guys NOW.

Play OKC with backups tomorrow. This is a special roster, no need to show off too much too soon.

Fitting, ten bucks says they were scoreboard watching at halftime, and he was trying to show up Embid. Just a stupid loss.

bad loss, but watching the game, the Hornets couldn’t miss in the 4th quarter, yes there was suspect Wolves defense at times, but they were knocking down shots with hands in their face too…Ant looked like he was sick and had no energy, he takes the last shot 99% of the time when healthy…Karl was fouled at the end but why take it into 4 defenders?

I’m trying to remember if Edwards even took a shot the first half.

I never thought I’d live to see the day that 40+ games into the season only the Celtics have a better record than the Timberwolves. Be interesting to see what they can do the remainder of the season

They have the “easiest” remaining schedule in the NBA, but we’ll see.
They are going to have to make a trade coming up and unfortunately it is going to have to involve Kyle Anderson.
Kyle brings a lot to the team in every aspect besides scoring. He can guard every position, can play every position, and besides Conley is the only person who can run the offense.
If Naz or KAT could play any sort of defense it would be an easier pill to swallow but that is not the case.
The Wolves need more scoring ability. It’s as simple as that. And Kyle is the only player with the right contract to make a trade.
Tyus Jones would probably be the best fit for a trade and Minnesota would love to have him back home.

Listen to Mookie! I wonder what we would need to add on to Kyle to bring in someone like Tyus. I believe Kyle is on an expiring contract so maybe that would be appealing to a team like Washington but i cant imagine they care much about salary relief. They are one of the worst teams in the league and at least 3-5 years away from contention. My assumption is all they would care about is picks. Might take a 3rd team getting involved to get a deal done

Kyle and Milton work money wise. Both are expiring but would probably have to throw in some pick to make it happen. I would be pretty neutral on trading Kyle. I like his veteran leadership here with all these immature children, but if the deal is right, I won’t complain.

With the cap situation the way it is and the Wolves likely going to have to pay the luxury tax in that second apron next year, I would wait and see who gets bought out. Being a contender, they could for the first time in a decade actually draw interest from a seasoned vet on a minimum deal. After that meltdown against Charlotte, it is easy to see that they need more adults on the court. You would think Towns would have grown up by now but he is still about as smart as Joe Dirt.

I didn’t see the game but kinda like that Finch called them out after the Charlotte loss. Being that it was the second loss in a row they better find a way to rebound and beat a bad Washington team tonight.

I will step back on my comments about Kyle Anderson being trash after watching him more and I think he is a valued player.

The Wolves have lost a couple painful games to bad teams lately. But huge win against OKC tonight, love to see the fire!

To those who follow the NBA closer than I do:

Should the Wolves try to trade for someone before the Feb 8 trade deadline? Or should they stand pat?

In my unexpert opinion, another perimeter defender who’s actually an offensive threat, unlike SloMo, to take some of the pressure off Alexander-Walker. Not a starting caliber player by any means, just someone to give a good 10-15 a game. A brain trade for McDaniels to learn how to stay out of foul trouble?

The prevailing opinion is that we need another piece if we truly want to contend. Most say we need either a good backup PG to take some pressure off Conley and or a 3 point sharp shooter. We don’t have a lot of tradable assets we are willing to part with. Basically it’s slowmo or Naz. Naz will retire in the timberwolves hall of fame. I’d be fine if they traded towns but they won’t do that this year. We are also into the 2nd tax tier so taking on more salary long term is probably out of the question

As assembled, their playoff success will depend heavily on how the seeds/matchups fall. With the lengthy NBA playoff series format experience and depth start to play a role.

I could see the Wolves getting to the WCF if the matchups fall right, and I could see them getting bounced in the first round.

Teams I like the Wolves against in a series based on matchups:

    -Pelicans
    -Jazz
    -Mavs

Teams I think the Wolves would be in trouble against in a series:

    -Nuggets
    -Lakers
    -Clippers

Teams I think would be a coin toss matchup in a series:

    -Thunder
    -Kings
    -Suns

Some good thoughts. They could have used another PG last night. Connely did not shoot the ball well at all.

they have played well this year but they will beat themselves unless they grow up and address the immaturity issues.

Impressive win last night against the Clippers who were one of the hottest teams in the league. And that was after beating the Bucks last week, too waytogo

    ^

The win over the Clippers was big. On the road, full strength Clippers squad…definitely something to hang their hats on.

The win against the Bucks was without Middleton AND Lillard, and with Giannis only playing 27 minutes. They essentially pulled the plug to regroup with the impending trade and being depleted.

I think the Wolves can beat anyone in a game. They have the talent. The issue is with the 7 games series format in the playoffs…experience becomes a big factor, hence my post above thinking there are some teams that could be their kryptonite over a full 7 games. Regardless I’ll be rooting for the Wolves. Teams like the Wolves and Bucks winning from small market cities are great. I’m beyond sick of the Lakers for sure.

^Even the Clippers are sickening with their re-tread all stars. Leonard, George, Harden, Westbrook, etc. Hope they implode with personality issues.

Clippers were 20-5 at home this year. I read some of the young guys, probably Ant, were ripping the “old ass” mfrs as they walked back to the locker room. probably that was directed at Westbrick for laughing at Rudy’s airball free throw during their last meeting.

not much separation at the top of the west but they have shown that they are a title contender, which is something that could not have been reality for the last 2 decades. hopefully they don’t beat themselves

Nice way to end before the all-star break. 4 game win streak. At one point they were up by 30 points (in the 1st quarter!) last night in Portland. Glad they stayed focused and finished them off. Still can’t believe they are on top the West.

either a bunch of closet Wolves fans or trying to jump on the bandwagon of hope in the fly over state before it gets too late.

probably bandwagon since the other franchises can’t get it done?

if you haven’t watched…………THEY ARE GOOD…………like they might be deep run in the playoffs GOOD?

They are a very fun team to watch for sure but will they have success in the playoffs? This franchise hit the conference finals once and that was 2 decades ago. They haven’t made the playoffs for a long time until last year.
