Jokic was immortal once again. I blame them for playing him at 5280′ over altitude for all but 1 minute. That and Jaden shutting down Jamal in the second. World class $hit right there.

I need a break from this as well as the team doah

I’m a Minnesota sports fan but not a huge Basketball fan, especially the NBA… I usually bypass this thread, but I’ll be here for the duration this year. Love the way this team plays defense so good as that’s the #1 reason I don’t like pro basketball (that and the dramatic whining after each whistle). But MAN that was fun to watch. The team has some personnel parallels with the 87 Twins. Very likeable, underdog dudes, hard not to route for them. All Minnesota sports fans need this team right now. Press Conf with ANT and KAT after the game was AWESOME!

Several big plays in the second half. Rudy’s fade away, Naz’s put back slam, Kat’s put back slam. Key blocks on Joker. One of McDaniels’ best games.
What did I say about game 7? rotflol jester rotflol

What do the basketball gurus here think of the matchup with Dallas in the WCF? I don’t watch enough NBA to know about all the teams. Obviously they just upset the top seed OKC which might be more impressive than what the Timberwolves just did to Denver.

Ya, Twins and Wild too. Lots of beer to go around here in this state of pro sports.

IDK much about the Mavericks and certainly not a BB guy, but I believe they have more guys that can guard Ant so other guys are really going to have to dominate. This last series came down to the bench. Denver just couldnt get any scoring from theirs.

Dallas is a MUCH better matchup for the Wolves then OKC would have been… Luka will score, but he’s more of a pure shooter/get to the foul line player vs what Joker would do physically, his biggest knock is that he can’t (and typically just won’t) play defense, so Ant should expose him bigtime…Kyrie can get his shots due to his speed (similar to Devon Booker getting to the rim) but he’s likely not going to go off for 30+ every game like Booker could, he will have off nights… They picked up a couple of good players at the trade deadline that are similar to the rotation guys the Wolves have…The Wolves size/physicality should be a big factor, I love the Wolves chances this series…

I think Dallas is a better matchup for the Wolves than Denver just was.

Denver had Jokic who can just take the heart out of what you do at any point. He can be the best player in the game and beat you by scoring 40 or by orchestrating everything and scoring an efficent 25 points while filling the stat sheet.

Doncic won’t be a primary defender on ANT and neither will Kyrie. Doncic couldn’t guard a traffic cone and Kyrie is way too small. I’d look for Dallas to trap the ball screens and try to force ANT to get rid of the ball. If Minnesota’s shooters can knock down shots, this series is ripe for the taking as there will be plenty of open looks. I wouldn’t expect a sweep because Doncic and Kyrie can both drop 40+ at any given moment and will a team to victory, but as a whole MN is better.

    Wolves in 6.

I think the Jerry Burns rant was #1 post-game press conf in Minnesota history (possibly of ALL TIME). But ANT and KAT, in just that 20 second clip, easily take a close second. rotflol

Agreed on Burns! KAT’s facial expressions and his squeaky voice really are what make it.

A lot of the so called experts felt that the Minnesota Denver series was pretty much the championship series. A lot of them felt who ever won that series will go on and win the Championship. I sure hope they are right. Great game by the wolves. They could have easily folded up, but they hung in there and played great once they had the lead.

Rudy going 7 for 9 from the free throw line last night is a stat not talked about much this morning…those were HUGE points as misses could have derailed the 3rd/4th quarter momentum they were building…

The Wolves have now beaten the 2 teams that I felt would stand in their path to the Finals. Dallas is a nice little team made up of another magician(Doncic) who is probably top 5 best player in the NBA. Nobody whines more than Luka so expect more of that. Kyrie has probably had his best days behind him but he is still not to be ignored as he can put a team on his back. Other than that, Dallas has a bunch of cast offs and role players to fill out the roster. They let Brunson walk a few years ago which was a huge mistake.

If the Wolves stay healthy and focused, they will stamp their ticket to the finals but it’s the Wolves so weirder things have happened. On paper it should be a sweep for the Wolves but that’s why they play the games and no way is Silver ok with another sweep. It will be at least a 5 game series, maybe 6 if the league wants that. No matter the result, this team is built to be a playoff contender for the next decade with a talent like Ant. I think I got like an hour of sleep last night?

Everyone has their team and this has been my ride or die since I was a kid in 89. I didn’t think they were mature enough to go deep in the playoffs but they kind of hit a switch……….SO SO HAPPY FOR THESE GUYS AND THE LONG SUFFERING FANBASE.

    WOLVES BACK

Rumor is it’s finally happening? Big ticket says he plans on attending some games this next round at the Target center. I can’t imagine how loud the ovation will be. If only Glen would just make things right and get his jersey in the rafters but both are too stubborn to put their past behind them

I was wondering about Dallas’ front court, if this is the case KAT and Rudy should have a huge series. I think McDaniels guards Luka a lot, and should be an awesome matchup. McDaniels is the DPOT (Defensive Player of the Team) imo, and his success defensively will drive the length of the series. Shut Luka down and they will go quietly, I love Kyrie’s game but he can’t carry a series anymore, maybe a game or two.

Charles Barkley is gonna gain about 40 lbs in 5 days as a great food town goes full MN Grandma and keeps pushing stuff on him. rotflol rotflol rotflol

Hope the refs let them play tonight. Didnt watch Celtics /Pacers last night but sounds like it was pretty one sided. All the whining last series will be pale in comparison to Luka tonight and whole series. He whines so much makes Towns/Edwards seem good.
