Yeah it can be serious and hurt like hell, years ago I took a hard knock on my shin and instantly developed a lump the size of a golf ball in about an hour or so later it was nearly the size of two golf balls and hurt like hell. Luckily after a couple days it went down on its own.
Incredible discomfort like it was gonna explode, too young and dumb to have a doctor see it.

Could be an interesting game this week. Denver coming off two wins of KC and the Bills so they are obviously playing a bit better than early in the season. I am guessing or hoping their will be a lot of purple fans in the stands as I will be one of them.

I’m with you, Rip. I think Denver is one of the scarier teams in the NFL right now. They seemed to have found themselves. But so did the Vikings, so it should be a good game.

Hicks out for at least 4 weeks, place on IR
Big loss as he was a leader on that D

sounds like they brought in Anthony Barr to replace him.

Are they expecting Barr to come in and replace Hicks? He’s way past his prime.

I assume that Ivan Pace Jr is going to see most of the minutes Hicks had, with Barr backing him up or spelling him when tired.

They don’t expect Barr to replace Hicks because he won’t be able to do it. I’m not sure that Barr is past his prime though since he’s only 31 but he may not have been what we thought he was or could be when the Vikes drafted him. He’s good but one level below Hicks. Pace on the other hand has been looking great and Barr should be a solid backup for him until Hicks is back.

One level below Hicks? Barr wasn’t even on a team. He was on his couch.
Must still be in his prime.

Viking fans love to hate him, but Payton can coach. Wilson not quite done yet either.

Maybe it’s classic Vikings fatalism but I don’t feel great about Sunday’s game. Denver’s game against Buffalo was ugly, but they ground out a win and it seems they’re starting to figure themselves out in the Mile-high city. Tough place to play for a visiting team. Can’t stand Sean Payton, really hoping we can stick it to them at home but not overly-optimistic.

Buffalo gave that game away with all their turnovers. On paper, there’s no way Denver should have won that game. Aikman even said before the game “the only way the Broncos can win is if they force multiple turnovers.” Ironically, they forced one on the very first play from scrimmage in the game. Plus 3 more and a turnover on downs.

If the Vikings take care of the ball they can win the game. Turn into the charity that they were early in the season and they will lose. Its actually pretty simple.

Even with all of the free turnovers Buffalo gave Denver.
With seconds remaining it was going to be a denver loss if not for 12 man on the field call which gave denver a second opportunity after the missed attempt.

Reminds me of the NFC championship versus the saints 12 man in the huddle penalty.
Without a doubt I despise Sean Payton, him and his defensive coordinator should’ve been forever banned from the league.

Unlike a slap on the wrist and a little time out.

I do hate Payton, and the Broncos are playing a ton better lately especially on defense. But if you want to credit that to Payton, you also have to put the losses to the Raiders, Commanders, Jets and giving up 70 to the Dolphins on him as well. Along with very narrow W’s vs the Bears and Packers.

Their offense has been able to run the ball a lot better, but that has been a strength of our defense since the Eagles game. Sutton is their only receiving weapon that scares anyone. I think if we hang onto the ball, the Vikes win by 10.

The Vikings road may have just gotten easier if that injury to Burrow is serious, and given that teams rocky prospects to make the playoffs if Burrow sits the next couple of weeks and they lose the next two. The smart move for the franchise is to sit him the rest of the season and hope he is healthy next year.

^They’re reporting it as a “strain.” However, he wasn’t listed on any injury report whatsoever but was clearly filmed with a brace on the same wrist as he got off the team bus.

One thing in the NFL that remains consistent is that some teams are very good at keeping their hand close to the vest, while others play along nicely with the injury reporting rules for no real reason. Belichick was a master at this. It looks like Mike McDaniel is as well with their RB situation coming off IR. Zac Taylor as well now with Burrow (clearly he knew his franchise QB worth like half a billion dollars had an issue and wore a brace).

Meanwhile, Matty Lafleur would probably send hourly notices of injury updates to the Packers opposition. Watching him call plays, one could guess he does the same with their offensive gameplan throughout the week too.

It’s official, Burrow is done for the year, turning a tough game in Cinci into quite winnable.

we are onto Denver. Broncos playing really well after getting thrashed early so congrats to that.

I been picking on Denver D all year in fantasy and been 100% so keep it going. Vikings o line and d line is too much for Denver to handle.

I’m guessing he will not be activated until after the bye just to be cautious now.

Terrible play call direct snapping to Hock and pitching to Dobbs on that first drive. Too much injury risk, and Dobbs was banged-up. Luckily doesn’t look bad. We’re lucky we came out that only down 3.

Keep running the ball, don’t turn it over, and do your thing on defense. They’ll be in good shape.

Denver has forced 9 turnovers the past 2 games (plus another one tonight). That’s literally the only reason they’ve been able to win.

Denver run D is like running through a wet paper bag. Has been all year.

G you are spot on. Keep punching em in the mouth with thunder and lightning. Love me some Dobbs but Chandler is absolutely killing it. Running, catching and pass pro.

    Dobbs again!
I’m sure glad cousins didn’t borrow him his cinderblock shoes.
The guy is so calm and collective in the pocket with pressure around him he doesn’t fold like a cheap lawnchair with nearby pressure that we are used to seeing once in a while.
