KOC needs to stop playing not to lose.
He called a completely different game in the second half.
No play action even to replace some short yardage running.
    Way too conservative imo

I hear ya. At the same time they’re giving us more to cheer about than the other teams here. If worried about getting Dobbs dinged up could’ve put in another qb and kept the plays that were working going.

Did you just suggest putting Mannion in and run the same plays in the second half?

Doesn’t look like the kitty’s are going to play like road kill this year. That was quite the shootout with the Chargers.

Hard not to root for the Dobbs kid. Another game and another great performance. 10 weeks in and I hope they resign Kirk and Dobbs and do whatever it takes to not let BFlo leave. I knew he was their best signing this offseason and he is able to work magic with this so so defense.

Flores has got to be near the top of potential head coaches for next year. What he’s done with similar personnel to last year is unbelievable. Combine that with him already having head coaching experience and he’s gotta be a top candidate. Watching their defense, not wondering “if” they’ll blitz but looking around to find out where they’re blitzing fun make it a lot of fun to watch.

If they make the playoffs, even as a wild card, I say KOC has gotta be coach of the year hands down.

I would say the coach for Houston will be in the running too. They are 5-4 after a win at the Bengals yesterday. They were pegged as one of the worst teams before the season started too.

The second half was not a good one for the offense, but the defense held them in it. Some of these penalties are just stupid and completely wrong. I mean Hunter had HIS helmet torn off and he gets flagged for hands to the face penalty!

That was the tale of 2 halves, domination in the first half and then a classic Zimmer-esque just do nothing and try and hang on in the 2nd half. Thought Chandler ran very well, and he maybe getting all the work next week if Mattison doesn’t clear concussion protocol. Gotta celebrate the W’s, especially when you are without WR1, WR3, LB1, RB1, RB2, QB1, QB2, QB3 and a starting CB! And I too, am glad they didn’t shut down the season, this is fun!

That is the thing with me too. I love watching good football and I would have hated to trudge through the season losing every dang game with the hopes of getting the No. 1 pick.

Just think of what this team’s record would be had they not had all those turnovers early in the season. They’d for sure be 8-2, if not better. Its amazing how much easier the game is when you don’t commit several turnovers each game.

The Saints kicked themselves in the pants multiple times yesterday with their own penalties. Apparently they are near the top of the league in penalties.

Turnovers certainly played a big part.

The introduction and adoption of a wholly new defense played into it also especially when you consider next to no starters played preseason games.

As I noted before this coaching staff accepts players will make mistakes and they coach players to prevent reoccurrence vs. beating them down and throwing them under the bus.

They will continue to put up a good team. Be interesting to see how JJ contributes.

Certainly better than the tank some on this site proposed (scroll back) to try to get a 1st round QB pick. Lions game will hopefully be fun for a Vikings fan.

I like Dobbs. Good for him and gives this team some energy. And for the sake of my young son, I will try to stay enthused the rest of the way.

But personally I am sick to death of the early playoff exits. I wish I could just be happy with that as a form of “entertainment” but I can’t.

Case Keenum was a pretty darn good QB back in 2018, too.

rotflol rotflol: rotflol Yes, so good that in a QB starved league, he has thrown 214 NFL passes since then for 4 different teams and 6 different coaches. 2017 was a really fun season too, but he was catching lightning in a bottle, so just enjoy those rides when you can. Sometimes they even win a SB.

So wait Nick Foles wasn’t as good as Tom Brady?

Well he was when it mattered most, so thus Nick Foles is more clutch than Tom Brady. Same for Eli Manning. jester

The Dobbs feelgood story definitely is a huge distraction from how banged up this team really is… Kudos to Hockenson for playing through a LOT of pain yesterday – he looked like he was gonna spit blood after a couple of those plays. JJ coming back next week, maybe? and then hopefully we get KJ back as well. Will be fun to watch Dobbs with all the weapons.

We could have really used a loss by the Lions. That would have been big. Playing them 2 of the final 3 games of the season is going to be huge. Hope we can face them with a Fairly healthy lineup.

Haha my bad, I missed your sarcasm there.

Lions are tough, but still not that great imo. However, they have an easy home stretch here vs Bears, Packers, Saints, Bears, Broncos, Vikes, Cowboys, Vikes. So even IF (big if) the Vikings swept the Lions, they would need them to lose to the Cowboys and probably one or 2 other teams on that list. Not likely.

I agree, the kitties are winning the division. It will take a collapse for them not to. They’ve restored the roar.

In regards to the sentiment that this could end up being, yet again, another “made it to the playoffs” season followed by a first-round exit (which I agree, gets old); as it sits right now, after week 10, the Vikes would be playing the Lions in the playoffs. They play the Lions two out of the final three weeks as well. Meaning they could be playing the Lions three out of four weeks counting a playoff matchup if the bracket were to land that way. If those create some good, close games, that could be fairly interesting to watch.

Considering this team losing its franchise QB and the other injuries >>> I will take getting to the playoffs … winning a playoff game is extra …

Just like every team I will wait til it actually happens. Football season is brutal on players. Not sure they would be roaring if they were on QB3 or 4.
I can almost guarantee a division leader will get smacked with injuries that will severely hurt their playoff chances of winning it all.

Vikings agree to a reunion, sign LB Anthony Barr 1 year deal
Some depth not sure how long Hicks might be out but they signed him to the practice squad.

    edit:
Since it’s too late to get Latavius Murray back here I suppose Adrian Peterson is looking for a team lol let them retire as a Viking.

55 back with 22 and 99. Barr has a super high Football IQ. I’m guessing he will be up to speed on the Flores D by the Bears game and will be able to contribute vs. the Broncos in a limited role on Sunday. The band is back together.

I really hope JJ and KJ are back for the Broncos game to take some of the load off of Hock and open things up for #3.

I am totally biased since he’s my 2nd favorite player of all time (next to Moss), but I would love that and am confident AP still has gas in the tank.

That Hicks injury is crazy in a lot of ways, but he came back and played for a bit after it, and then ended up in the hospital with compartment syndrome. (Don’t google that if you have a weak stomach!)
