Bucky, drop a grand on the game. it’ll give you a reason to watch it.

I currently have my entire Walz refund check from the $17 billion surplus riding on it………aka $0

I listened to the game on an earbud in my stand today so I didn’t see any of it. Sounds like Dobbs was a magician in the second half. Honestly I kinda got sick of Paul Allen saying DOBBS over and over lol. Dobbs, Dobbs, Dobbs, the dazzling Dobbs!

I think Akers blew his achilles and is done for the season.

Yeah, one would think that might be the end, end for Akers. 2 Achilles tears in 3 years? Makes one think maybe the Rams had a good reason not to play the guy, probably knew it was a ticking time bomb. Puts the competence of the Vikings front office in question for sure.

Great hard fought win. Not really sure yet who Dobbs is. He is athletic though. Really different seeing a Mobil QB in purple. Great to see the team playing hard and hanging in there with all the injuries.

I wouldn’t get too excited about Dobbs. He’s going to turn the ball over a lot, make some of the throws he should make, and scramble a lot. He will probably win us some games but nothing in the playoffs, if we make it, and get us a pick in the 15-20 range. Great.

I’ll give him credit though. The kid battled his ass off yesterday.

Seemed every play was either really good or really bad. If they would have said one more time how smart he is I was about to rip my ears off. Shows how tough Cousins is it seemed the new kid was barely even hit.

According to Kevin Seifert, Dobbs didn’t take a single snap or throw a pass in an organized practice all week – it was all playbook study. Didn’t even know most of his teammates names yet. Watched the 2nd half from my deer stand on Hulu Live on my phone. Biggest buck in the woods could’ve walked by in the last few minutes and I wouldn’t have known. No regrets!

Injuries keep piling up – Osbourne out with a concussion and likely wont play next week. Not that Akers has done anything special, but he’s done for the year – and he’s our emergency Quarterback, apparently (which is a bit laughable). So what do we do for QB depth now? Is it Manion if Dobbs goes down? Mullins still on IR? Hopefully Hall bounces back quick.

O’Connell knows how to coach QBs. He is not quick to pass blame on anyone and indeed must be pretty well respected by his players. I believe he helped elevate Cousin’s play too.

The DC game plan is taking shape nicely. Gave up the big play – but the blitz (on that play) was well anticipated by Atlanta.

Hearing some of the details about what KOC was doing mid huddle to translate plays for Dobbs since he never played one rep in practice makes this win all the more special. Heckuva coaching job there.

Mannion will likely be the backup next week coming off the practice squad or activated. Mullins I think has to be out a bit longer however. Hopefully Hall isnt out too much.

Totally agree. Incredible coaching job yesterday making it work. It would’ve been a miracle to help him out enough to keep the game close let alone win it. Showed me a lot about KOC honestly.

Totally agree about the coaching, really unprecedented as far as I’m aware of. I mean we all remember the Josh Freeman experiment which was basically the opposite. Also, if you noticed the Vikings were at the line very early in the play clock most of the game, which was very smart and well done as that lets KOC talk to him until 15 seconds left in the play clock I believe.

Also, where all the Flores haters at? What he has done with the defense is really next level. 16th in PPG and 13th in YPG with more or less the same guys as last year, and without their big FA acquisition Davenport or much help from the draft.

Its fun to watch the up’s and Downs of not only the Viking, but its fans. Its been a crazy season so far, and will most likely be for the remainder of the Season. Just when you are ready to write them off for dead, They somehow manage to win a game. By far one of the more entertaining teams to watch the last few season, That’s for sure !

Flores deserves a lot of credit for turning this D around. ALl the injuries on offense however and then the next man up again. Half these receivers I have never heard of.

Feel good story with Dobbs. Against a very bad Falcons team with also a backup QB.

    Enjoy it while you can…

While the offense may be bad their defense certainly is not. Ranked 6th in the league.

I will. They have the Saints (barely beat the Bears w/ Bagent at QB this weekend), the Broncos mile high dumpster fire, Bears in another top pick season and Raiders who just fired everyone coming up. They very easily could be 9-4/8-5 going into the home stretch, but even a split of the next 4 puts them at 7-6 and very much in the playoff race. And that is why you pick up Dobbs, yesterday was fun, the rest of the season should be more fun, and the division and playoffs are very much within reach.

You mean you would not have felt good about Sean Manion coming in?

Hope Dobbs can settle down and run less, he is a great runner but first you need poise in the pocket, the run should be a rare and important surprise-like 4th qrt. 3rd and 7, everyone is covered…

Falcons gave up 4 TDs to Will Levis in his NFL debut last week.

Speaking of Levis, there’s yet another QB that got drafted (gasp!) and looks like could be the franchise guy to replace Tannehill.

That all depends which game you watched last week or this weeks where he had a rating of 66.4 just a tick higher than Tyson Bagent and behind a guy named Tommy Devito.

You mean the one that was his 2nd NFL game, on the road, in a short week, where his o-line was getting absolutely abused by the Steelers D and he still hung in there and kept them in the game until the bitter end?

Yes that one where he accounted for zero points and 2 turnovers.
I think it’s a bit early to anoint him a franchise QB.
Considering Vrabel hasn’t even committed to him playing this Sunday.

The Titans scored 16 points and almost won the game. His only pick was literally on the final play of the game trying to squeeze in a TD. If you watched the game, Levis played very well with what he had to work with.

    Sorry, not a good take.

Is it too early to call CJ Stroud a franchise QB??

Yeah he has played 8 games.
I’m sure the Texans thought Watson was their franchise QB at one point as well.

Levis is two games into his career.

I remember every Viking fan saying Mac Jones was the next Tom Brady as well after a couple starts and that the Vikings were crazy for not getting him.

Maybe our definitions of a franchise QB are different.

Remarkable effort by the coaching staff, the QB, and the team. Is it sustainable? Who knows. Just like the Bills game and the unprecedented comeback games last year the team shows heart and was somehow able to pull off the improbable. It will be remarkable if KOC can lead the team to the playoffs, but I wouldn’t put it past him. That is a long way off right now. I’m enjoying the ride.

The Vikings are currently 5-4 and would be in the playoffs if they started today.

    Their remaining schedule is:

    Saints
    Broncos
    Bears
    Raiders
    Bengals
    Lions
    Packers
    Lions

I’m seeing 4-4 with the remaining soft schedule. As I said in September and quoted earlier, the Vikings have had a clear viable path to the playoffs or at least 9-8. There are a ton of mediocre teams with mediocre records this far through the season. Very few teams have differentiated themselves from the pack.

It’s going to be interesting to see how the proceed with JJ and his injury, or how eager JJ is to get out there.
