It would put the Vikings at the top of the wild card race. Agree it’s only 1 game.

I wouldn’t. Both the Cowboys and Seahawks are 4-2. And the Bucs are 3-3, although I do think they are better than Tampa, even though they lost to them in week 1.

I meant more so the last wild card spot.
reguardless it keeps them right in the thick of the playoff race.

Gotcha. I do agree with that. It amazing what one win will do on national TV against a solid team.

Just 2 week ago all the national pundits said to blow it up, trade assets, and tank the season. Now its “this team is back in the race.” It took a complete 180 after MNF.

Packer game has real implications now.

What are those? How will one win by either team change their season?

The Packers are trending toward a top 5-10 pick in the draft with a banged up roster at key spots, questionable coaching decisions, and the youngest team in the league.

I’m not really understanding the “implications” of that game either, other than the Vikings should win relatively easily.

I’ll take the Vikings to cover 31-17 in a relative snooze fest

One win won’t, but whoever loses this weekend, their playoff chances are pretty much done, with 5 losses and still 9/10 games to go.

Also don’t think implications means season changing for a team.

Either way it’s Vikings Packers week.
So we get to hear “how many Super Bowls have you won from every Packer fan.”

Yeah I would love that, but severly doubt it. 1 the Vikings aren’t that good, 2 the Vikings always play to their competitions level, and 3 my Post Traumatic Vikings Fan Stress Disorder has me leaning more towards a trap game. Vikes coming off a big and emotional win, and the Pack losing 3 in a row. I think Bucky knows this too and is just baiting us (see previously referenced PTVFSD).

The Vikings could win 5-3 and still cover. The O/U is 42, I would hammer the under if I was in Vegas.

So is there a prescription drug that helps with that or just the usual beer/bourbon rotation? whistling

That’s the only treatment. The only cure is to quit watching/caring, which is very difficult for some (cough me cough). rotflol jester rotflol

man, have you seen some of the Niners game Christian Darrisaw highlights? Dude was just manhandling Nick Bosa most of the game and Bosa is a real life The Mountain from Game of Thrones…O’Neal did a great job on him too, but the power from Darrisaw is crazy..

amazingly they probably have the best bookend tackles in the game. even Ingram is playing competently lately. Bosa is elite so that tells you something. it’s never easy in Lambo or Chicago so anything could happen but Jordan Love is absolutely atrocious to watch. maybe he figures it out someday but until he starts throwing forward, this guy has no chance at moving the sticks on a routine basis.

In today’s “the grass isn’t always greener on the other side” moment, Dalvin Cook has reportedly directed his agent to have the Jets look for someone to trade him to.

Apparently Dalvin forgot to read in the contract the part where when you go to the Jets you basically flush your career down the toilet. Ooops.

Yeah suddenly the OL is looking pretty dang good. Bosa is the reigning DPOY too.

PFF had Derrisaw winning 40 or 41 snaps against Bosa last weekend. He’s also graded out as the best tackle in the league, I believe.

That win last week makes the game this weekend in Lambo that much more fun. I think the Vikes shouldn’t have too many problems getting a win, but then again, it’s the Vikings. I’m guessing it’ll be a good game.

PA just listed all the Vikings that are at the top of stat categories. Addison one behind Hill for most TD by a receiver, Cousins was leading the league in TD for Qb’s until Allen passed him by one last night, Cam Bynum leading all backs in tackles, Harrison Phillips leading all linemen in tackles. It’s kind of crazy. If they keep putting whole games together it could be pretty good.

Vikings futures bets now reflect an increased likelihood of them making the playoffs. Get our your parade lawn chairs and purple drank. The squad is back.

Honestly, I think this weekend’s matchup could turn ugly.

The Packers have x10 starters on the injury report now, and 11 if you count Bakhtiari the lawn ornament on IR.

The Vikings have x2 starters on the injury report, and 3 if you count Jefferson on IR. Both besides Jefferson are expected to play.

    I’m updating my prediction:

    Vikings 34, Packers 13

That couldnt happen. If the Vikes get a 10 point lead they would quit trying to score.

And the heck of a year Hunter is having. And as much as I’ve criticized his contract situation and subsequent pass drops, TJ definitely adds a lot of value and has to be accounted for. You’re right, put together whole games, stop turning the ball over. I tend to think of time of possession as an overrated stat, or at least one that needs context, but some longer drives to refresh the defense will help too.

And those who want to can feel free to criticize me, but I really, really wish they would’ve resigned Cousins last offseason.

I’m on the resign Cousins bandwagon but I’ve always been a Cousins backer. I do wish he’d take a bit of a pay cut to allow the team to sign more pieces though. Maybe JJ can convince him to sign for less so he can get his mega deal.

There was no reason to sign Cousins last year. No reason to sign him this year. Jefferson is the top priority, they can Franchise tag Cousins anytime. Without Jefferson signed is there really a reason to keep Cousins?

Was that satire? The whole post?

Franchise tag him? I’m not 100% certain but I believe in the CBA a player can only be franchised a few times and he’s already been twice.

And JJ might be one of Cousins’ biggest fans. It’s been noted that he puts a lot of value on who will be throwing him the ball his next contract.

Kirk reportedly offered to the team that he’d resign last off-season for a team friendly deal and the Wilfs said no. And whether it’s true or not, it’s also been reported that the hang up for a JJ extension wasn’t as much about money as it was him being unhappy about the uncertainty at QB.

And finally…. he’s easily a top 10 QB in the NFL. That’s why.

on here or by the national media? if it’s because of his primetime record, they can suck it. most of those games were on the road against elite competition.

There are 20 NFL teams who would rather have Cousins at his age and salary than their current QB situation.

I’ve never understood the fan base hate for a top 10 QB. There are literally less than 10 other people walking the earth out of 8 billion who would make them more likely to “win now” from that position. I’d be curious to see Vikings fans list which QBs from their entire franchise history are better than Cousins. One could easily argue he’s the best QB that the Vikings have ever had.

I DO think it makes sense to start ramping up the amount of draft capital they spend on QBs. Swing some day 2 picks to see if you find the next guy who can sit and learn a couple years

Its everywhere, here, twitter, you name it. Im no Kirk apologist, but he gets so disrespected by so many people and its not warranted. Ive said it before and I will say it again, he will likely have every Viking QB record by the time he is done. It might be hard to get the total passing yards depending on how many years he is still here but the others will likely fall.

Yeah it’s ridiculous. People made their mind up on him after his first year here and he’s done nothing but get better since he’s been here. If this O line continues to get better, I’d guess Cousins will get even better too.
