I’ll gladly eat crow on this one. Wow, maybe Flores can get this D to gel? Or maybe they got lucky we’ll see.

They need to stay away for 1st and goal inside the 5
It’s been pathetic, they left 8 points off the board on those alone tonight. It’s like they become a clown show or misfire easy throws.
The missed point after also hurt, the missed 50 canceled out by the 50+ he did make.

I believe they still have not had a single rushing td yet this season.
The worthless screen plays without blockers needs to stop.
Nonetheless, I will sleep much better tonight.

The Vikes finally showed up and actually played well as a team. This win may be just what the Dr. ordered to put them back in contention for not only the playoffs but the Division crown as well. It looks like the D is coming together nicely. Another young QB to feast on next week. Hopefully, Hock’s head is straightened out now. Addison is a playmaker. And Hunter is back to being a dominant force. They could still lose in Green Bay, but I don’t think that is likely the way Flores D got Purdy to cough the ball up.

    slept just fine
My point was, the vikings made just enough plays to win
They missed just enough oppertunities to keep the 49’ers in the game at the end.
The D showed up big time to cover some of the missed chances.

By far their best game of the season. O-linen played well. Not many dropped passes. RB’s gained some yards. Cousins had a good game, although Addison really bailed him out on what should have most likely been an Int. Which was the biggest play of the game. I’m not sure if this is a sign that things are turning around or not. Guess we will know in a few more games.

Was fun to watch and worth staying up for. I still don’t think we’re going to win the division, but good to be competitive and maybe a wild card berth is in our future. Who knows, the Lions are still the Lions. It was good to see some guys like Powell and Chandler step-up in key plays when needed. O-line looked great as well, and that’s saying something.

Still a lot to be desired – run game is atrocious. And only the Vikings could screw-up the most guaranteed 1-yd play in football twice in a row and blow their chance at a TD deep in the red zone. And I’ll just say it… I’ll never feel good about our chances when Greg Joseph steps on the field.

When you get inside the 5, you really should be able to run the ball in. The field is condensed big time when you pass it those situations and the ball has to be in a much tighter window. This is where the lack of a competent running game is most obvious to me. Line up Ham as a full back and give the ball to Mattison or Akers behind him. One would think you could do that 2 or 3 times and get to the end zone.

The tush push doesnt work for the vikings because Bradburry isnt big enough and nor is Cousins. Comparing the effectiveness for the Eagles and the Vikings its obvious the skill disparity.

Actually at 1st and goal inside the 5… should be a swing out RPO.

KOC thinks way too much when he get’s inside the 5. Run the damn ball with anyone BUT Mattison. He hits the hole so slow he never has any chance. AND Bradberry is so weak when the D puts all those big guys in at the goal line he gets trucked every time and there are two guys in the backfield each goal line play.

It was a great win against a great team. Yes there were still some bonehead plays, mostly by KOC (in my opinion), but Kirk shut up the primetime haters (even Joe Buck was talking him up by the end), Addison was awesome, and our D held one of the best defenses in the league to 15 points. Makes next week in Lambo really fun.

Why Akers isn’t the starter at this point over Mattison is beyond me.

The most complete game of the season by far, but I think the two biggest points of interest should be us winning the turnover battle and not many balls being dropped.

The first INT is hard to pin blame on anyone. It was a decent enough pass, Addison had it but that DB made a great play on the ball and wrestled it away from him. The play later in the game that was a TD Addison redeemed himself however. That kid is filling in nicely for JJ. Cousins had a great game overall and the guy who could never win in Primetime has quietly won 3 of his last 5 games on MNF.

Not so sure its “skill disparity” as the issue. Hurts is built more like a tight end and Jason Kelce is a mulit-year pro bowl center, who also just happens to be the highest paid center in the league.

When you watch the Eagles do it, they push forward in the trenches. When the Vikings tried to do it, nothing moved. lol

On the Tush Push the biggest thing was Kirk form he stood straight up and allowed the tackler from over the top to hit him. He need to be right behind and crouched down behind the center and ride him forward as the ball is snapped and ride his surge. You need the line to fire off the ball and stay low.

    Mattison 8 carries 39 yards 4.9ypc
    Akers 10 carries 32 yards. 3.1ypc

that win was a shocker. the 49ers are on top of the entire NFL as an organization and we walloped them without the best non quarterback player in the game out there. If we had lost this game i think we may have been sellers at the deadline. Now we need to keep the momentum going. Looking at our schedule we should honestly be favorites in our next 6 games. 9-4 heading to Cincinatti to play that phony loser Joe sounds good to me

Crappie, the schedules certainly does look favorable the next 6 weeks but as we all know the Vikings will find a way to stub there toe in a couple of them right?

If you put up 450+ yards you should score more than 22 pts. We gotta get the red zone shored-up.

I thought that was KOC’s best game yet. Couple decisions I disagreed with but overall great game plan and execution. That is also elite Kirk, and a good demonstration of what he can do, against one of the best defenses, when he has time to pass. Defense looked like a whole different squad from last year, and even a few games this year (although they’ve been much better overall). Don’t look now Flores haters, but they are currently 18th in PPG and 15th in YPG. That is a HUGE improvement over last year.

Next up is Packers, Falcons, Saints, Broncos, and Bears, which they should go 5-0 or 4-1, but even at 3-2 over that 5 game stretch puts them at .500 for the home stretch.

They missed 2 wide open receivers on both failed red zone drives, and missed a FG, very easily could have been 33-17 (or 20 if you give SF their missed FG). I think it’s a dumb argument to say they can’t run on the goalline, when they usually run once then throw twice max. Sometimes throw all 3 downs. And can we just scrap the QB sneak? Kirk/Bradbury are just not built for it.

Kirko-Chains baby!! Can’t win in primetime…except he can and he does. Wow, did the O-line play good last night is pass protection, I hope that trend continues. I guess Risner must be playing good, at least I didn’t hear his name come up last night, which is a good thing for a lineman.

Mattison has been failing to get positive yardage in short yardage situations since he has been in the league. This is nothing new for him. And it’s the REASON they have been throwing at the goal line.

Glad to see Kirk get that MNF monkey off his back against a solid defense.

Powell had a nice game. Glad to see someone step up when needed.

Packer game has real implications now.

What are those? How will one win by either team change their season?

It would put the Vikings at the top of the wild card race. Agree it’s only 1 game.
