Short of a blown assignment in the secondary or a pick 6 these putrid Bears aren’t scoring.

Intentional grounding on a screen pass where the timing was thrown off because he had to chip block a free rusher. That call is as bad as it gets.

Rookie backup QB that came from division 2 college ball. Shredding the vaunted Vikings defense. For real. hah

Well, I think the Viking’s chances next week just went from 40% to 30% of a victory over the 49ers with that missed field goal.

They barely handled a Bears team with no quarterback so the niners were going to be a handful anyway.

People said the same thing after we barely beat Carolina and had the Chiefs coming up. My projected mental state of an opponent is a big factor in how I think a game will play out. Chiefs won on a razors edge. I thought the Vikes had a good shot at winning, which a 40% is.

For as good as KOC was last season, this season he’s been dreadful. Very predictable, no quick hitting routes to help Kirk get the ball out under pressure, and every time they get a lead he goes into safe mode and lets the team back into the game. Grow some balls, you have a good offense (at least it was) step on these teams’ throats when you get up on them.

Man they are tough to watch even when they win.

I don’t understand why they quit on Akers after two positive plays. Does he not have a grasp on Pass Pro? Mattison was clearly not getting it done today and he is below average as a receiver. Hock has to step his game up. He isn’t playing nearly as well as last year. If I were a Wilf I would request a meeting with KOC, the TE coach, and Hock. Then say nothing, scowl at Hawk for five minutes, if I could keep a straight face, then tell them they are dismissed. If I couldn’t keep the scowl without laughing only then would I open my mouth to communicate what a blessing to the team he was last year and his play so far this year isn’t cutting it.

Akers is garbage. Completely worthless trade.

The Vikings didn’t deserve to win today. Had they not be playing against a backup QB, I can almost guarantee they lose.

As it is, the Vikings screw it up even with a win. This team reminds me of the late years with the Wild and Parise and Suter. Eventually you just need to move on. Sooner the better.

Barely winning against a backup QB with some lucky calls against the Bears, nothing to celebrate. After the 49er’s lost today, not looking good next week. No reason to celebrate this win.

Plenty to celebrate today. A win is a win in the NFL. Losing to the Bears would have been akin to the Gophers losing to a team like Northwestern. doah

One might argue that there is a direct correlation between winning the turnover margin and winning the game in this league.

Its the single most telling stat whether you win or lose. There isn’t a whole lot of separation between some of the worst teams on paper and some of the best teams. The Eagles lost yesterday because they had 4 turnovers to the Jets. The Vikings won yesterday because they forced more turnovers than the Bears. One of those went right into the end zone for a scoop n score.

The Vikings could pretty easily be 6-0 if they had not coughed up the ball so many times earlier this season.

Akers is only average 7 yards per carry with the vikes……but let’s not use him.

They mentioned that on KFAN this morning and Leber was going ballistic as to why they aren’t using him more. He touched the ball yesterday twice. One rush, 7 yards. One catch, 8 yards.

One doesn’t need to have a PhD in math to see that he’s an effective player. And yet, they use him very little.

Like Rocco pulling a starting pitcher because that was the plan. To hell with no runs and a low pitch count. Hook ’em!!

Lol at this point given what I’ve seen I’ll take Akers over Mattison. I don’t know if it’s the added touches, KOC not scheming solid run plays, or both, but it is starting to look apparent that Mattison isn’t cut out to be a bell-cow back.

I find it hard to believe anyone thought Mattison was a bell-cow RB. He never showed that when Cook was hurt. The Vikes I think thought they would be Cook re-signed, and got stuck with Mattison, and no other options.

Just don’t understand how a team can be so bad at drafting decent talent. CB, nada, LB, nada, OL, nada……

I’ve seen our OL ranked in the top 10 the last 3 weeks. IMO, at this point, KOC needs to start implementing plays that get the ball out of Kirk’s hands sooner….and Kirk actually needs to get the ball out of his hands sooner. Kirk doesn’t have that “it” factor when it comes to avoiding pressure in the pocket like Brady or Rodgers.

This could very well be true. Or maybe they saw cookie lost a step and knew he wouldn’t be a RB1 anymore. He’s done terrible with the Jets this year. I’ve always liked Dalvin but understood when they delt him at this point in his career.

Cook was fading fast, and is making 4x Mattison. If you look back at Mattison’s game’s when Cook was hurt, he always put up solid numbers, 20+ carries/100ish yards/1+ TD. But I agree he hasn’t been good this year, and am totally fine with Akers getting more of the workload. There were some huge holes yesterday, that Mattison missed or was slow to hit, and same thing on Powell’s couple runs.

Fields had 58 yards and a pick when he got hurt, if he stayed in we would have won by a lot more. And Tyson Bagent threw about 5 ducks that should have been picked off, but only 1 was.

I agree the Vikings looked bad, but if you can’t enjoy the wins, or at least not be upset by them, why even watch?

There is a possibility that both McCaffrey and Deebo miss next Monday nights game here. They both exited the game early against Cleveland on Sunday. One might argue that they are the top two offensive players that the niners have.

And Trent Williams is day to day with an ankle injury that he finished the game on, he is, imo, their best offensive player.

One of the Power rankings had this to say about the Vikings ” Beating the Bears gets you Zero points in the power rankings. From what I saw for Three Hours Sunday, Minnesota is a BAD football team that does VERY LITTLE Correctly ” I think that is a rather fair assessment. This rankings had Minnesota as the 25th Ranked team. Which I feel is also a fair Ranking. Just far to many thinks wrong with this team to hope to fix during the season. I’d like to say I think they could fix some of these issues in the off season, but with this teams Management and coaching, I really don’t see it happening. Oh well, such is life as a Minnesota Vikings Fan.

Power rankings, mock drafts, PFF and zodiac signs all come from the same place, and should be valued as such devil chased It’s been mentioned before on this thread, but bears repeating, the NFL season really starts after 4 games, now is when we will start seeing the cream rise to the top. And while I don’t think that includes the Vikes this year, their defense has been playing well (esp relative to last year) and they could go on a run if the offense starts living up to expectations and holding onto the ball.
