Good kill Micheal. It’s was a beautiful couple mornings in the stands. The cool weather was great. I had 17 deer come by yesterday and 5 of those were bucks, but none that I was looking for. I woke up this morning to a picture of my shooter at 4am. I made the mistake tod go in at 530 and I jumped him out of there. I was hoping he was walking around but he was already in his bed. I won’t have time now until Wednesday evening I’m hoping

Finally got out this weekend, and was burned by the weatherman/wind forecast. Supposed to be 5-10 mph W/NW, and it was 0-5 mph outta the east at first light and I was busted by a doe and the buck downwind of me that I was there for. Also had a doe bust me right when I left, but it was still a great morning in the woods. And got a pick of the buck, which I would have (and will) let walk on metro public. There’s bigger around and judging on the lack of pressure he should make it.

My friend Derek got this buck today during a special archery city hunt in Shorewood. Its the second year in a row he’s arrowed a dandy buck during a city hunt.

I really need to work on taking a good pic with my bucks. I have 5 on the wall now and only 1 pic that’s horrible with my deer

I lecture my friends about this all the time. jester I told them I’m going to hold a class on it. The thing that bugs me the most is when the tongue is hanging out. Also setting up the deer in a good position. I usually tuck the legs under. Here is an example of my son’s deer.

I had the big 10 at 20 yards sunday morning. He stood behind some brush for a long time and then followed a doe straight away from me. A couple more steps was all I needed.

After skipping this morning I’m back at it in that same stand. Hopefully he’ll be on his feet as soon as the wind starts to let up in a couple hours. Lots of trucks parked along the gravels this afternoon. Good luck to the people making it out today!

I’m not the most tech savvy kind of guy, and I hunt solo 99 percent of the time. My fish pics are usually equally as bad.

Everyone in my house and my parents had some funky crap that lasted a week or better except me and my 7 yr old daughter. Now I got it dammit. Woke up yesterday felt like I swallowed a cactus.

I’m on day 18 of the crap and just getting back to almost normal.
Seems to linger on forever. Never had a sore throat like that before and little white spots all over the back of my throat.
Was just getting to start bow hunting when it snagged me. Haven’t made it out yet this year.
Hope it doesn’t last that long for you!

    That sounds like strep man.

Not strep. Went to the Doc. on day 7 of having that “cactus” in my throat.
Did the swab but negative. Said less than a 14% chance that an adult ever gets strep.

I could have taken the covid test, which he said would probably be positive but there is no treatment for it anyhow so what’s the point.

Stay hydrated, get rest and let it work it’s course.
How long it lasts seems to vary.

That was most likely him. The soonest the dog could be there was 2pm today. I haven’t heard anything.

Paxlovid is a tapered approved treatment for Covid. I believe it has to be started within 3 days of initial symptoms though, so a moot point in your case.

I had strep last April and it morphed into an ear infection and sinus infection. Took about 10-14 days to go away after I received antibiotics. Nasty stuff

The cactus type feeling in the throat that Jeremy described is how I felt too.

I have had a cold for a week and a half now with all the various symptoms along the way. Longest I can remember having one. Probably doesn’t help I’ve been duck hunting half the days so not good sleep and out in the cold a lot. I have talked to a few others that have had it one for 2-3 weeks. I saw no point in getting a Covid test. This is worse than the last time I got Covid.

Been seeing lots of little bucks for the last two weeks. Tonight I saw my first big one in a field right along the road. All puffed up and following a doe. He didn’t seem to care a bit that I stopped. Looks like the rut is rolling. Good luck on opener boys and girls. I’ll be out chasing ducks.

Hoping for good things for you!

I’ve only managed a couple days myself and usually with a kid, so not necessarily prime stand spots if I gotta do a two seater.
Now most my household is sick also. Been about 2 weeks since the first one got it. I’ve skated through so far.

Might sneak out Friday morning. By 10am the neighbors will be out setting up their stands…… doah Then I’ll go back to work.
