    The trespassers?

Don’t have the boat with this weekend so I won’t crash your party. Definitely looks like some prime access via river. Gonna hunt across from Wild River SP and see what happens. Thanks!

We won’t be dar from each other. If you need help dragging a monster shoot me a message . You are in great territory

Thanks for the offer! Didn’t get it done, but looking forward to keeping tabs on that area next year.

On public land near Fergus Falls today. Got eyes on a 150 class whitetail on the edge of public. Getting a couple buddies in position and hoping someone gets lucky.

Sat the last two mornings. Didn’t see anything. Was a beautiful morning both days though. Might switch it up like BC and ice fish this afternoon instead.

Yeah the trespassers. For the last month I’ve been getting pics of 2-4 trespassers on the farm every week. Me and the other bow hunter have both kicked multiple people out as well. The farm butts up to public so I think everyone figures they’ll just play bumb if they get caught. Between the trespassing, littering, sd cards being stolen, and cameras being pulled down it’s been a very frustrating year. In 7 years of hunting this place its never been this bad.

Yesterday while driving home from SD as I am coming up to a hill I see a deer standing right in the middle of the road.
As I approach he walks to the side of the road and stops. I pull up and grab my phone to take this picture.

We dealt with that this year as well. All cameras went in to security boxes with a pad lock and then a cable lock wrapped around that. But it sure sucks to deal with trespassers constantly

We need some deep snow and cold days before I will get out again. I dont have enough time to scout hard enough to figure out what they are doing now. Deep snow and cold really makes them easier to find.

Don’t think that’s happening anytime soon. It looks like a very mild week ahead and there still isn’t any measurable snow in the 10 day forecast. The landscape looks weird for December. At least compared to last year it sure does.

Yeah I think you are right unless something drastically changes. Last year was great having those cold sits.

True. It makes it hard to key in on and hunt food sources when they could still be getting acorns and other non planted foods all over.

I try to focus on a positive side to this warm late season weather. The deer will have less stress and not as dependent on winter browse for as long.
The browse has to be in shorter supply with this dry weather we have had all year as well.

We came home from a day trip into Wisconsin and saw zero deer along the fields as it started to get on to sunset. Deer inside the city limits were plentiful though. Easily saw 75.

I seen 13 deer along a field edge. 4 of which walked 35 yards from me. I just sat and enjoyed watching them. It was a beautiful night to sit.

Out in the corn again. Hoping to maybe get in on some second rut action after seeing a couple scrapes opened back up and a fresh rub by the pond on the walk in. Good luck to everyone who’s still putting in the hours!

Will be out tomorrow afternoon, wish I could have made it out today. Wonder if the front coming through tomorrow had them on their feet today. Supposed to be windy tomorrow.

Wi anterless is going on to the 10th. Was able to get out for the last 2 hours tonight. Better action than we had during our gun season. Had a target big 10 and a decent 8 out in the corn. A doe that I’ve had on my hate list made the mistake of blowing at me for the last time. She stood at just under 300yrds stomping her hoof. I introduced her to a Barnes TSX 140gr. One kiss on the cheek and her brain turned to jelly.

Couple fawns were checking out the water tank. Funny watching them contend with the ice chunk

300 yards is crazy to think about. I don’t think I have a spot I could shoot 80 to 100.
It’s nice taking out the problem doe, the one who keeps busying you.

I’m going to sneak out in the morning, I had 2 different bucks run in front of me tonight cruising back roads. They seem to be active. Daughter b day party is at noon so I will only sit until 930 or so.

Distance is all a matter of perception. When I hunted up near Prentice, wi a 50yrd view was rare. Down here in the southwest part of the state easy to have 500, 700, yrds plus of view. I shoot 900 meters commonly so everything inside 500 is relatively short distance. She was at the far end of this lane eating oats. She saw I had a window open and started to blow. Every deer within 800 meters of her went on alert.

Nice Randy! Is that by chance a Boyd’s gun stock on your rifle?

If that’s his .270wsm, which I believe it is, it does have a Boyd’s stock.

That “stand” is ridiculous Randy. You’ve posted that view before on here. Incredible distance of view and shooting range.

Yes, that is a boyd laminate I did a few modifications to it to help lighten it up a little. Tia T3, action 270 short mag with a Marx custom barrel. I’m sending 140 grain monolithic Barnes TSX at about 3450 ft./s at the muzzle.
Thanks on the compliment for the tower. It’s not the best bowl hunting spot, but wickedly perfect for gun hunting. Most of my farm is set up as a sanctuary and we never step foot into the woods. We just sit patiently, and they always come out in the field or one of the lanes.

I think I’m officially done for the year. Lost my motivation. Was a good season. Shot 3 deer during the gun season. Never made it out with my bow unfortunately. Next year is a new year. Lots of food plot plans.
