I go every day I can, no matter what it says. But I might not take off a Thursday evening to hunt if it says “terrible”. I just know from checking it every time I go since last year, more often that not it seems right. I’m gonna start keeping notes on a calendar what it says and then compare that with trail cams also. We’ll see what it shows.
It is very area specific. 75 miles apart can be black and white opposite for predictions. And if course the deer don’t know or care and can do whatever they want anyhow! jester

Bearcat, if I put in Isanti as a location, it shows a slightly elevated level of activity from Thursday tomorrow from 7am until Friday at 7am. Then a lot of “bad” and “poor” with very little daylight activity until Tuesday the 12th and then it’s only an “ok”.

Take that for what is worth. frown

If you’re curious if a different location let me know.

Or does it say just to go find some ice to fish. I’m now at a torn time of the year

It says you shoulda been out this morning!
    rotflol

Pretty similar actually. I’d say if the wind this weekend is right for a good stand, then I’d be in it.
I might not sit much past 10am, but I’d have to give it a go.

Jimmy Jones, if you see this, that’s great expansion and performance. What caliber, what round, and what handgun?

Can you do Chaska? I still go whenever I can, just curious in the accuracy of that app before I download it. Sounds pretty reliable!

I find it pretty accurate as well. I have the free version so can only see the current day. I’ll pay for it next year though.

Huntwise has excellent movement for today, above 90% starting at 1400. Actually shows good movement all day. That’s all I can get with free version.

Was fortunate to hunt private in Wisconsin last weekend, not sure Ill have that opportunity this weekend. Gonna stay close to the St Croix, but never hunted public with muzzleloader in WI. Am I in for a circus? Or is it feasible to have a productive day on public with minimal scouting?

I don’t drive in. I boat in. I never see or hear any one.

Sure can. Sorry I didn’t see this earlier today. I can look at any areas I want in 3 states. I picked MN, WI, and ND.
Chaska area looks like it could have been good today.
Then it tapers off to a bit of a lull.

Like I’ve said, I’ll hunt whenever I can! But using this app, I may cherry pick a few days when I can, or pass on days I could’ve gone and go on a better day. It’s got other features to play with once you use the pair version. I’m still figuring out some of the extras.

Don’t have the boat with this weekend so I won’t crash your party. Definitely looks like some prime access via river. Gonna hunt across from Wild River SP and see what happens. Thanks!

Back in the corn stubble tonight with the muzzleloader. I don’t have especially high hopes since the cameras have showed very little movement lately(trespassers have beat the farm up especially bad this year). Can’t shoot them sitting at home though. Good luck to the guys still getting out!

I’m gonna try to get out in the morning. Maybe bring one of the kids with that has an archery tag. We’ll bring the crossbow with to share then. Should be nice and frosty with just a little breeze.

I decided to go fishing tomorrow instead. We have some ice to set tip ups on for a couple morning eyes I hope.
I officially shut my cameras off today as well.
I’ll still get out but I’m starting to shift gears.

Had high hopes this morning only to have 3 yotes come thru outside of range at about 7:45. The grind continues.

At least you have decent weather. I think a little snow would help you guys out that are still hunting. A couple inches would be perfect.

I had a small 8 and fork feeding right in front of me last night, plus another 13 does and fawns scattered around the field edge by dark. The does were staying clear of the two little bucks though so I never did get to fill a tag.

The SE wind tonight is keeping me out of that area so I’m sitting on a finger of woods leading out to beans.

Well had bad powder and blew a chance at a doe with in 60 yards. Ended up seeing 4 sitting on ground over a wheat field that my uncle has been seeing them come out on at last light. First doe busted me down wind, was within 20 yards of me. Other three came out into field, one of which was the does I tried to shoot. Bummer of an evening but nice sitting weather anyway.

Nice gun, weedis. I’ve got the same one minus the scope, open sights here. What type of powder are you using that you had a mishap? I use white hot pellets.

Very nice gun. I use white hots myself. I’m pretty sure the bad powder was my own doing. I kept it loaded from last weekend, took primer out, and put it in safe. Should have started fresh or kept it in garage to avoid the temp changes.
