The oldest is on a role this year. Heard this one grunting in the cattails so he grunted back at it and he came in on a string.

That’s a great buck there.
This was shot from a guy I know less then a mile from the house
8th and final day for this guy. Been since 2014 since I went without filling some kind of tag. Full desperation mode now.
Congrats to the successful hunters!
I’m sitting on the clover plot with my bow. Lots of activity in it on camera, but so far I’ve only had a couple does skirt the edge just inside the brush.
Saw 5 this morning. Took a break and checked out a spot i used to hunt. Super fresh scrape up wind of doe bedding so it should be hot!
I was finally able to fill a tag this morning with an antler less deer at 6:50am. I looked to my right and by god there was one standing there at 75 yards. I also saw another one shortly thereafter and a fork buck half an hour later.
I’ll spare you guys the photo of a small corn fed antler less deer lol. It doesn’t fit in very well with the nice bucks posted lately. I hunted 7.5 days to fill that tag though. Should be a good eater.
Nice evening tonight here. Saw one deer a half mile away.
Congrats Gimruis!
Way to push through the grind to find success.
Thanks Netguy and Michael. It was a grind out there for days on end.
Nothing today. One last sit tomorrow morning then heading home to clean the 2 the oldest boy got.
Been a grind for us too. Haven’t seen a deer since opening morning but still trying. Nap time in the stand this morning for the kiddo.
I decided to sleep in today. First time in many months. And it felt great. I have 8 deer to cut up today from people yesterday. My garage looks like a death house right now

You are human after all!
If I had to cut up 8 deer I’d be at it for a month! I’m definitely not a good deer cutting guy.

Haha. Zombie mode finally caught up with ya huh.
I slept in too. 12 hours of sleep last night and I feel like an olympian this morning. I know you get up early every day for work and you get like 5 hours of sleep every night, but I’m not used to getting up that early and relying on such little sleep, so my body takes a beating during the week of deer hunting. 11 hours sitting in a stand and staring into the landscape is tough. My face felt like it was hit with a 2 x 4 almost every evening last week. Kinda glad its over to be honest.
I’m kicking my own ass 650 this morning. Camera time is wrong
That sucks Bearcat. Several years back, I took a few days off work and hunted hard for 5 days with no success. This guy showed up ten yards from my stand when I was back at work Mon morning.
I was out pheasant hunting yesterday and road hunted the way home. A doe being chased by two bucks ran right in front of my truck. THe second buck was a dandy. I was thinking you better get your butt in gear or that little guy is going to steal your girlfriend! Turns out we were very close to where that moose has now been spotted yesterday if you guys have heard about that. He was in Sauk Centre last night by the airport.
I boated up river and bow hunting the river bottoms this morning. Deer were moving this morning pretty good.
Im setup where I left off in the metro a couple weekends ago. Pretty quiet now that gun is over.
I am seeing a steep drop in temps around Tues/Wed. Might be a decent time to be in the stand.
Been a quiet opener in vilas county. Super mild and calm. Havent seen one yet
Hunted my spot on the oxbow on public this morning.
All I seen was a button buck fawn.
Bearcats thread about slob hunters on public land is spot on. A bunch of trash was left in the parking lot. When I climbed down after my sit I noticed something in a tree 30 yards east of me. Walked over there was a bunch of new screw in steps in the tree. I hunted that tree last year. No steps in it then. Plus there was a bunch of trash at the bottom of the tree. Not sure why people can’t pack out if they pack it in.
Anyway here is what DeerCast says for the upcoming 4 day weekend.
To say i have struggled to see deer is an understatement. Over the last two weeks i have seen a total of 1 deer whether it was in the north metro or up north. Scouted some public today and found a fresh scrape…hope to sit it fri-sun.
I’m hoping to see my Wisconsin buck Thanksgiving morning and stick it with a arrow. Then I can be done and happy. Till then I have killed my 2 doe and buck in mn with the bow so I never had to grab a gun which was awesome. If I could only get a step ahead of the wi buck I’m chasing that would be sweet. Until then I feel like I’m 2 steps behind him.

The most recent sightings of the Moose are near Browerville. My buddy lives a little North of that area. Going to be Muzzleloader hunting there this weekend. Who know, Maybe get a chance to see him.
Update. He was spotted this morning NE of Clarissa

I’m no expert in the realm of deer hunting but I’d say even without tagging this Wisconsin buck you speak of, you’ve already had a very successful season.
This cold front should be really good hunting. I cant get out tell friday though. I would sit tomorrow morning in a heartbeat if I could.
