2023 bear season

    Minnesota hunters……you have till may 5th to apply for a permit in lottery zones.

    think i’m on preference #4 so i wont be usung the 99 code this year!!!!

    I’m going to attempt to get my first bear this year. I have never done it before but I’m highly interested in shooting a bear with my bow. I see I’m in a non permit area.

    its fun and addicting……..but can be alot of work. nuttin like setting up bait stations and coming back to see it hit with logs scattered all over!!!!!!

    last time i baited/hunted i actually walked up to a bait while a big ole bear was feeding……that was so awesome!!!!!! but the weather rally sucked that year. everytime time out almost, it rained with lightning…….i aint sitting in an aluminum stand with lightning……

    a friend of mine told me to go buy one of them big super soakers. i put old grease, mainly old fish fry grease in it. then shoot that grease up in the trees. that really gets the scent out. and that sucker shoots that grease up a good 20 ft!!!!! that way whatever way the wind decides to blow that day……..it goes all directions!!!!!!!!

    And how did you do this season? I put a buddy on a few nice bears. He flubbed one shot. Ended up taking a small bear on his last day. We are archery exclusively.

    Wade,,,,,i didnt get a license last year….i expect one this year. we have a place not fart from rapids……west of talmoon. i did spend alot of time in rapids several years back with the employess of ASV!!!!

    actually hededt o the cabin in the morning!!!1

    Nice. Enjoy the cabin. Yeah. Itasca county is a tough zone to draw. Need a lot of points.
