    Hey guys,

I’m about to pull the trigger on a 23 Lund Adventure Sport with the Mercury 115. I’m a little concerned about the weight limit… it says 6 people or 775lbs. 90% of the time it won’t be an issue as my family of 4 is well under 775lbs. However, 1-2 times a year I go on an out of state fishing trip with my friends and together the 4 of us weigh 900lbs. I’ve read that the 775lb limit is “playing it safe” but I wanted to get peoples opinions and experiences with that…?

We have a 21 1775 Adventure with the 115 XS. Every year we go island camping at Voyager and load out boat up with much more than 775 lbs with gear. We have never had a problem getting on plane and cruising.

Mojo, what sort of speeds are you getting with that setup? I have to imagine with the same motor as the 1775 impact but reduced overall weight you can really fly in it?

We put a brand new 2022 Yamaha 115 on my dad’s 1998 Lund Pro Sport 1700, and that boat is an absolute racecar car. We have seen 50 on the GPS in the right conditions, but 47-49 is more typical. I used to have the same boat with a 90 merc and could only run maybe 38. It was a great rig, but wish I had a 115 on mine back then!!

Ideal conditions I can touch 43. I’ve never messed with different props besides with one that it came with.
