Man its easy to buys guys out that don’t have massive contracts. Don’t get so crazy.whether they do it or not remains to be seen. There are players that could be bought out with little issue overall. Not like we’re dealing with the parise and Suter contracts FFS

buyouts are absolutely last resort, but sometimes they can make sense like in the case of Jojo next season. If the Wild needs to clear a top6 forward spot next year for an ELC player (like Yurov) Jojo’s buyout caphit + Yurov’s ELC caphit is actually less than Jojo’s original caphit…

Obviously if they dont buyout Jojo then the cap savings would be greater the next year…

You act like buyouts are the norm.
Sorry but that is not the case. Can you navigate them sure. It’s bad management overall. Spending money on players that don’t play for you is not a recipe for success in a salary cap game. It is just omitting you or the previous regime messed up. LTIR game is waaaay different then a buyout.

You make it sound like they will just buy out bad contracts that they give.

Again when can we question BG? 5, 10 years? Honest question.

Every contending team is right up against the cap, most are over. Buyouts are a last resort, nothing easy or minor about them for a good team.

And I hate to kill this dream of Joe’s, but a Jojo buyout makes absolutely zero sense for the cap

how so? His buyout would be $660k x 2 years, Yurov’s ELC is something like $900k aav, you’de save cap the first year..

I’m not saying its going to happen, but if it takes that to get Yurov over here next year its an option… I think you’d gladly pay the $660k buyout penalty the next year to ensure that..
