    Boldy has not looked good

Right! I want him nowhere near the blue line on the PP because was was fighting it today for sure. I think he feels more pressure than others when KK is out. He needs to just play free and not worry about that.

Last year Boldy went on his epic heater when 97 was out so hopefully he can repeat something close to that.

Russo is saying 1-2 weeks for 97 and 2+ weeks pending a second MRI for Gus. The injury bug is hitting hard, making up for it’s absence the last 2-3 years.

Oooof Canada will not get a medal at the WJC!!!! Chechia scores with 10 seconds left in the 3rd to win their Quarterfinal matchup!!!!

I love how Canada Media is now complaining that they didn’t get the puck luck…as if they never got a last second win off a deflection or crazy play… What a joke…

I wonder if Riley Heidt would have helped? )

I suspect Kirill will be back alot sooner unless his injury was Kidney related… if its just a soreness issue, they’s make him a custom pad to better protect that area (surprised he wouldn’t have one already…)

Add Foligno to the injury list. Did not practice and is a game time decision tonight, no idea what the injury is.

I can’t figure out the 97 injury. He looked unphased by the 1st cross check straight to his ribs and then the 2nd one landed squarely on his infamous hip pad but dropped him like a gunshot.

Kidney injury would be the only thing that could be serious in that area, I would imagine his 1-2 week recovery projection would be much more if it was a kidney issue? otherwise its gotta be just a tissue bruise issue…I bet he’s back soon…

That second cross check was between the hip pad and the kidney side pad and in a downward motion. Same type of crosscheck that dropped him like a sack of potatoes last year. On top of that when he went down it was eerily similar to how he injured his groin last year when Stanley “fell” accidentally on purpose on him.

lol, apparently Hartman told Perfetti the High Stick to the face he gave him was payback for Kaprizov getting hurt…How do we know that? Perfetti was mic’d up for that game…

Those types of cross-checks happen EVERY game though…if Kirill has a prior injury weakness in that particular spot, he needs to wear some special pads to protect it…I agree it should have been a penalty, but I bet you Dillon does that same cross-check to the back of players in every game…

Looking at it again in super slow mo frame by frame offsides review level replay it looks like the 2nd cross-check caught the bottom of the hip pad and just under it. Maybe a hip pointer? Is a hip pointer a real injury or that just a football term? Either way they effin hurt.

It’s officially listed as an upper body injury for whatever that is worth.

To me what did it wasnt necessarily the cross check itself but the downward motion at the end. Sounds like T is onto what the real injury is.

Serious Hip pointers are an absolute PITA (worst injury I ever had in hockey) as they are extremely painful to recover from because you constantly bang that area playing hockey and then when you finally think you’re all healed up, you hit the boards wrong or collide the wrong way with another player and you’re back to square one with your recovery. I don’t think it’s that though as the weight behind the crosscheck likely isn’t enough to cause a hip pointer, but it could cause one hell of a deep muscle/bone bruise though…

I’d be surprised if Tony DeCosta doesn’t talk Kirill into wearing the same lower back protection gear Parise used…

Sweden going into OT with Switzerland… Liam Ohgren has an assist today and again had several chances to score but just can’t buy a goal.. Kind of concerning he can’t score…we have enough of those kind of prospects…

Lindy definitely not a good start for sure. Fleury had no chance on that first one. These injuries are really starting to impact the play.

Bummer, they hung in there most the game. Would have been a good one to at least get a point.

This could be a very long month and one that solidifies us getting a lottery pick in the draft…

Not necessarily a bad thing. This team could use a missed playoff year and a little added reflection and possibly a different mindset about some things that have been done. Regroup, add another depth piece or two in the off season and keep grinding until the dead cap is done.

Only one more year! My hopes of playoffs are waning by the day. The injuries are stacking up and an unreal rate compared to other years. Guys out longer term and key guys at that. We cannot go long term without Gus in net. Hopefully Wallstedt gets cleared and he can get a few games to spare Fleury.

    Only one more year!

Next year with the cap bump of $4 million the team won’t have anywhere near the cap issues they are dealing with this season. This season was always planned out as the most painful one and all of the injuries have just poured gas on the fire. Don’t expect any kid of additional moves by GMBG other than being likely sellers (Maroon, Duhaime, Flower, Bogosian, Dewar?) if the Wild are out of playoff contention at the deadline….

A retiring Goose ($2million) and Zuccy’s new deal ($1.875 cheaper aav) more than makeup the pay raises Foligno and Hartman got with their extensions and Marat K will be on his ELC and at the very least takes Duhaime’s roster spot adding an additional $300+k in savings. Wallstedt will replace Flower saving another $2.5 million, Then you add the expected $4.2 million in cap limit increase and the Wild should have a 7+ million to spend on a long term Dewar extension ($2×5?) and a much better 3rd set of defenseman…

IF they can find a taker for Merrill, that could free up another $350+k if an ELC defenseman (Hunt) takes his spot…

Faber & Rossi extensions are going to eat a huge chunk of that freed up $15 million in 2 years…I expect them to try and extend Faber the max 8 years, maybe a bridge deal for Rossi depending on what his next 1.5 seasons look like (if he’s worthy of the long term extension, then give it to him) The Wild really need their current crop of young AHL defenseman to be ready in 2 years when they start 2 NMC years of Spurgeon $7.575 + Brodin $6 + Faber $8+? eating up big chunk of capspace…

Hey BG I mean Joe. I think you are forgetting about another extension into that 15 mill.
It is a rather large and important one.
