I just watched the game replay, other than putting BOGO out in 3-3 OT and him thinking he’s 15 years younger and skating around with the puck vs giving it to our skill guys, it looked like an exciting game…Rossi was hilarious after his “fight”, he couldn’t get the smile off his face…

oh and breaking news, Brock Faber is friggin good, like really friggin good and the truly scary part is I think he still has alot of room until he hits his ceiling, especially offensively, we could have “Our Makar” for the next 15+ years…if they pull him off the PP unit when Spurgeon gets back i’ll be pissed, he has that uncanny ability to get shots on net from the point, something Spurgeon is terrible at…Its just crazy that a player gets into the NHL and then LEARNS NEW skillsets…he’s truly a purple unicorn (through 40? total games in the NHL…)

Post game analysis from Ben Clymer was interesting. He said he practically saw every Gopher game Faber played in and he’s amazed how comfortable and how good he is in the NHL. I look forward to watching him for a long, long time.

I watched every gopher game Faber played and the only thing that surprises me right now is his offensive upside. There were glimpses last year, but that was never part of his game. His defensive game has always been great. Skating is elite.

Faber is a riot to watch, but I’ll be happy if he doesn’t play 30+ minutes again until playoffs. Kaprizov almost at 30 last night too. Hynes is riding these guys like $12k cats (from that other thread) right now. This team needs the Holiday break to be here ASAP

Rossi had that same sh!t grin during the postgame KG interview. Team vibes going off the chart after his fight, I wish they had iso-cam on Duhaime for it

I just cannot believe he is a rookie. The way he plays, the interview with Gorg after the game he talks only about his teammates and not himself. Maybe we can have nice things?

I don’t see another option right now. If Faber isn’t playing those minutes, then Merrill or Goligoski play more. I don’t see that as a good option.

Faber is great. Comparing him to Makar is a bit of a stretch imo. Give him some time.

agreed and why I listed he’s only 40 or so games into his career…I think he’s better defensively than Makar and I think his offense has alot more room left to grow into, that’s the wildcard with Faber, how much better will he get offensively, he’s still so raw offensively. They are both elite skaters but in different ways (Edgework vs Glide)

The next few years will be alot of fun watching Faber get better and take over this D-core…

So John Decausmaker was all over Canada twitter the other day because he messed up like 2 words in the Canadian National Anthem. Did you guys see what he did last night? Of course Bally didnt broadcast it because they suck but he sang it in FRENCH! He is so good.

I’m still smiling thinking about Rossi’s game last night. I’d have loved to be able to see the look on Hynes’s face when Rossi flew in there and dropped the gloves and started swinging at Guhle. He wasn’t the only one who didn’t see that coming, including Guhle. Rossi’s gotta be a damn legend in Austria today.

Wouldn’t mind seeing a throttle-back on Faber’s minutes and I’d hope that’s coming as soon as Spurg is back. Bad luck having Spurg and Bordin both injured, but the team sure seems to be making it work.

But the most shocking thing was that the Wild killed off like 42 penalties last night and didn’t have a single broken stick on the PK. How does that happen? My analytics AI supercomputer said the Wild should have broken 2 sticks minimum on those kills.

Yeah I get the necessity and he’s going over 30 because they’re going to OT. He’s absolutely crushing the minutes but just saying a 21 YO rookie averaging 30+ minutes carrying the D isn’t a recipe for long term success. Also hopefully Spurgeon is back soon to take that burden off.

Faber is great. Comparing him to Makar is a bit of a stretch imo. Give him some time.

These 2 do not belong in the same sentence, just silliness.

Makar was a highly offensive defender even before he got to the NHL. He won the Hobey at Umass. Not to mention he already won a Stanley cup.

Faber is not going to put up those numbers. They didn’t utilize him in that manner at the Gophers either.

What he is capable of is chewing up massive minutes and being a steady puck moving defender. Much rather have him play half the game than the cooked goose rotflol

Totally agree on the high minite totals from Faber. Doable? Yep. Smart? Questionable. Any other choice? Not really.

The chew spitter swig is disgusting! But funny. Made that mistake once on my own spitter and that was gross enough.

The looks and response from the wild players with Rossi after that fight, it was like he just passed his cool guy bro code test. His smirks were pretty hysterical as well. Still couldn’t believe with how much gusto he went after him. There was zero hesitation, he was pissed.

Heydt officially out. Mutually agreed to part ways. Big shoes to fill. Still a perplexing situation.

How the hell did Bedard pick that puck up so fast? Just crazy how these kids are so good at doing the new Michigan these days…

Couple of observations from the 1st day of the WJC tournament. Liam Ohgren has really filled out physically over the past year, the kid is a brick chit house that can skate, he looks to be physically ready to play in the NHL next year… The Wild brass needs Stramel to pan out because Gabe Perrault looks really really good, especially as a setup man…

Canada looks really beatable this year…

Gord Miller and Mike Johnson are just awesome to listen to call a hockey game… both are just perfect in their roles…

Apparently Danila Yurov has NOT signed a KHL extension yet and has a deadline of midnight tonight to do so…

Russo just did a story on him saying the Wild has no problem if he signs for 1 year, so we’ll know by tomorrow…

I’d love to know what is the attraction for any of these drafted Russians to stay in Russia? They could be a conscript private in the Russian army tomorrow and yet they’re not just signing khl deals but contemplating extensions?

Man I’ll bet it’s fun flying around Russia these days to get to games. Russian airlines are sourcing Chinese and North Korean knockoff parts to keep planes flying because they can’t get OEM parts. Yeah.
