Oscar Sundqvist signs a 1 year deal with the Blues for only $750k…that would have been a good contract for the Wild to sign…

    As a 13th forward?

yeah, and he would have been cheaper than any Iowa callup and has size…the dude flat out produced when he was on the ice with us late last year…

I, too would have preferred to sign him for that vs AHL options, but, there is nothing that says he would have taken that to play here. Otherwise BG would have probably done it, but the whole Gus bus contract might have him in pucker mode.

I don’t see ANY possibility that Gus could win an Arb decision of more than $4aav and Duhaime of more than $1.5, so WORST case scenario they count $5.5 against our $8.2 of capspace, leaving $2.7 million to fit Rossi’s $863k, Faber’s 925k and Addison’s $787k and a 13th forward under the cap, they would be about $500k short…..we would need to play without a full lineup…They’ll likely need to play the lineup games the first few months of the season to build up reserve capspace…again, this is with worst case scenario with the Arb cases…Realistically I think Duhaime will get signed before his Arb date for around $1-$1.25…I think Gus takes it down to the wire or gets to his case..I think he gets between $3-$3.5….those numbers would keep us cap complaint with a full lineup..just barely though…

But Vinny is one of us.

Ha! I get so tired of that. I think he will be serviceable, but beyond that not much to see here.

Except for when Teddy Blueger bloodied him up – that’s now the first thing I think of when I see Vinny. Well that and Rut Daniels

outside of the 3 worst teams with capspace (Chicago/Arizona/Anahiem) where are UFA’s like Kane & Terasenko going to sign for any meaningful dollars? Crazy how tight the dollars are this offseason…

I dont get tired of the fact of having MN on the roster. Just the saying “one of us”.

Kane has already said he will wait till the season starts and after he is recovered from his surgery.

But I hear you on the others.

Who’s got the inside scoop on what’s going on in Arizona with Galchenyuk!? Seems like quite the situation. Releasing him after being signed less than 2 weeks ago? Off ice incident?

i’d say this is the last nail in his career coffin but he’s like a roach, cant be eliminated from the league…

Some guys just can’t handle “having it made”..

“Galchenyuk was arrested on charges that include private property hit and run, disorderly conduct, failure to obey, resisting arrest and threatening or intimidating.”

Just a tough guy. Rules & laws don’t apply to him, I guess.

Probably not a tough guy more like a guy with a drinking problem.

I think it happens next season not this one, but I am not in line with what the stars have in the pipeline.

8 of the 16 arbitration cases have settled early before their hearing… of course the Wild has 2 of the 8 remaining unsettled cases..Billy holding his line…

Dewey1 agrees to a 1x$1.1 deal, basically kicks the can another year when the team has more money to spend, allows the Wild another year to see if he can stay healthy…I know this walks him to UFA, but he needs to show he can stay healthy before you sign him long term. I’m sure there was some discussion by Duhaime’s agent to go longer term but the Wild just didn’t have any room for more salary this year…

I like Duhaime, but honestly he is easily replaced.
Nice to have him signed if for no other reason than to trade him if needed.

He’s a bit more unique in that he’s a great skater who has a desire to get physical on the forecheck…we just need to see him play 70+ games in a season to see what he can truly do…I wouldn’t have a problem signing him longer term if he can hold up physically this season, his ego needs a check in that he needs to limit his fighting…

so I fell down a youtube rabbithole after watching a Spittin Chickelts podcast with the Tkachuks (Mathew, Brady and their Dad Kieth) and found a series the brothers did during the Covid lockdown a few years ago…

They competed against each other in several different sporting events in a 8 part series called “Stuck with the Tkachuk’s” it was all filmed at their family home in St Louis during lockdown… hilarious! The beatings these 2 must have put on each other growing up gotta be legendary…

I CAN’T WAIT until we can see these guys playing for Team USA…

Scott Wheeler just put out his updated top 50 drafted skater prospects and Gabe Perreault was #15, Charlie Stramel was nowhere to be found, let’s hope that decision doesn’t haunt the Wild for years to come…..

Rossi was ranked #30, Ohgren #40, Yurov #47 (Khusnutdinov, Lambos, Faber and Heidt were all honorable mention)

I wonder if GMBG and Gus’s camp are waiting to see what happens with Ilya Samsanov’s arbitration case set for tomorrow…Leafs are offering $2.4aav and Samsonov’s agent is asking for $4.9aav…that’s a huge difference.. the arbitrator’s decision should give GMBG & Gus a good idea of what to expect for their case and hopefully forces them to get it done before August 4th….

I am pretty sure both camps are keeping a watchful eye on those other goalies yet to sign.
