yeah, tomorrow nights game will be interesting to see if Kirill continues his progression from last night or resorts back to his finishing problems.. it’s funny how many “Kirill’s Totally Back!” posts I read online last night…at least he gets the Canadiens to play against…

What because of yet another broken stick on a penalty kill?

Precisely. Thanks for the OT excitement

Seriously, I can’t believe how many broken sticks the Wild have had while on the PK. 7 of the last 8, they’ve had at least 1. WTF?

Watch any other 8 games and see if there’s more than even 1 busted stick on a PK. The Wild have had 8 in 8 games.

Is somebody from the Wild organization going across the border into Tijuana and buying cheap knockoff sticks?

    I’m not saying there’s a conspiracy here, but there’s a conspiracy here.

I’m actually not sure if a stick broke there or Flower just lost his because I think Flower had Dewar’s stick.

How can you not love Ryan Hartman? Also a friendly reminder that Brad Marchand is the Captain of the Boston Bruins.

Well that was fun… what a game by Flower.

Faber finished with 30:19 of icetime, 2 Assists and +2… is that good?

That was an FU game by Flower last night for not playing him the night before even though he has said before he does not like playing in PItt.
I just hope they dont wear Faber down before the end of the season.

Russo had an article yesterday in the athletic basically saying Flower was relieved not to play in Pitt because of how much pressure and toll it takes on him. I know there’s a lot of BS players say but he seemed genuinely glad he wasn’t starting this time, at least from his quotes.

Lotta players last night had very good games. No way they are in that game without Flower standing on his head.

Am concerned about the amount of ice time for Faber and other players.

Just crazy to think of the cash not on the ice for this team last night.

If your a Bruins fan that watches the game son TV, how do you not demand he be taken off the air? I don’t want to sound unsympathetic, but that would drive me to changing the channel or muting the TV instantly, it’s like a scratchy record…

it happens in every hockey game in the world now, even down to Bantam and Peewee, once those composite fabrics break down a bit, they can let loose at any time resulting in broken sticks…I laugh because years ago this was brought up on Hockey Night in Canada and they interviewed some of the old school coaches who wanted to have their defenseman switch to the old school wooden sticks when on PKs…that went nowhere with the players…

I have a real feeling that KK is going to go on a heater right now. A game like last night is all it takes.

Russo gave another little update on Guerin/O’Hearn/Heydt situation. Sounds like Heydt is gone and The Wild/NHL are both comfortable with Guerin staying on as GM/President. Heydt is currently working remotely and missed his first road trip in 10 years while they negotiate his severance/walk-away package. Story goes it all started with the Heydt/Guerin relationship and it wasn’t necessarily a one time incident but years of incidents that Heydt had documented. The final straw was apparently in November on the day they were flying to Detroit. Guerin must have had a major outburst and Heydt decided to report everything to HR.

From HR it went to Leipold and Majka who hired an outside agency to investigate, which included interviewing 15 people in the organization. Sounds like it was the same firm that did the Blackhawks investigation, and the results were reported to Wild Ownership and The NHL. Leipold and the NHL came to the conclusion Guerin did not commit a fireable offense.

The O’Hearn situation was not an HR issue at all, but actually a “wrongdoing” in his job that he fessed up to during the investigation of Guerin – basically he made a mistake at his job. Whatever that was must have been a big one because The Wild/NHL decided it was a fireable offense. Russo said he’ll report it in the future.

My guess how it all played out….GMBG and O’Hearn got into an argument during a stressful cap/roster meeting and O’Hearn got physical and GMBG reported it (Has there been any photos or video of BillyG lately with any bruising? Russo said he was in the GM box last night but I didn’t see the Ballys camera ever show him like they usually do?) Then Hyde confronted GMBG about it a day or so later and GMBG got loud and threatening with him resulting in the other HR report submitted by Hyde.. Russo’s story mentioned 15 people were interviewed by the lawyers, so that means it likely took place in the Wild offices or Tria Office area…

I think that’s the differentiator on why O’Hearn was let go and GMBG wasn’t…Physical vs Verbal…

We should get the On The Bench boys to reenact it…

Would be interesting to see what “break percentage” is of a wood stick compared to a composite one.

If the same player used a wood one until it broke and then a composite one until it broke, I wonder which one would last longer? Some of those old school Sher Woods were like tree trunks lol

as if it couldn’t get any stranger….he fessed upto a wrongdoing he did in his job and the NHL agreed he should be fired for it? wtf? did he forget a decimal point? Clear as mud…

and once the hidden camera footage of the Battle Royal Cage Match in the Wild offices comes out, you’ll all apologize to me )

So many different and unique variables go into trying to figure that out…The main issue I see is that wooden sticks would typically break when they were expected to (a huge chop/slash/too much weight put on it, etc) vs the composite sticks seem to break alot more at inopportune times (catching a pass, making a pass, etc) when you wouldn’t expect them to…

Thanks for the link. Good listen.
Found it kind of funny that Parise is one goal behind BG so he definitely wants to come back and score 2 this season.

I remember when Doug Woog was doing color commentary on Gopher games. Nearly every broadcast a composite would break and Woog would say, “there’s another $200 on the ice”. He wasn’t a fan of the price or the durability of a composite.

If they put all the games on Prime that is going to suck. I mean, I do have Prime, but I just hate using it for sports. I dont watch any NFL games that are on there.

What are the issues with Prime?

My only Christmas wish for NHL games is to stop putting games exclusively on NHL Network

Does anybody know if Comcast will again offer the free NHL Network holiday week during the WJC? They always used to until last year, I had to add the Sports Package for a week and then cancel it…

I just hate the whole experience of using it. If its on regular tv I can also toggle back and forth between other shows with a push of a button, but since its separate I have to click multiple things, leave Prime and go to directv and vice versa.

Doesn’t Prime TV require an additional subscription fee added over just the regular Amazon Prime free shipping membership right?

I also read that Netflix and Google/Youtube TV are also possibilities for the NHL…

Its choppy, freezes, and its blurry when I try to use it.

Its not a speed or connection issue either. I’ve got co-workers and family members that report the same problems. I have the fastest high speed connection possible, its 1 GB/second.

I even tried a hard-wired connection too. Didn’t fix the problem.

I can watch SNF on NFL.com and its nearly flawless the entire game.
