I agree on them not signing a D most likely. Honestly this will be a boring off season for the wild.
That buyout wouldn’t mean much to the bottom line.

Yeah they probably don’t use the buyout and just stash him with the Marlies for basically no cap hit.

Shenn got way more than the Wild could afford as expected. Super boring offseason for the Wild.

Ladies and gentlemen we got him. Jason King new assistant coach who was responsible for the Canucks PP. Which was only marginally better than ours

We signed Vinni Latteiri, which direction does the parade route go through St Paul?

I watched quite a bit of Vancouver last season, their PP actually looked like they had a plan and moved the puck around quickly, but they also had alot more skilled players than we do…

Danila Yurov is listed on the Prospect development camp roster next week? Really? he’s here in MN?

I’m really excited to see him skate with the team…

Which is what terrifies me Joe.

yeah, I meant at least they’ll have a plan, its on the players to execute it… last few years I felt our PP was just winging it out there…

I like watching Hughes and Petterson and late game choices are limited…

There was a lot of Brock Boeser chatter on here last year

Agree on Vancouver though, I’m watching Vegas kings or Kraken all before a Canucks game. Mostly the kings last year because I’m a Fiala fanboi

Stars must have liked what they saw from Steel in the playoffs. I didn’t think they could actually sign anyone under 32 yo

    So I don’t think i’ll ever understand LTIR…
so Tampa Bay is currently $4.7 million OVER THE CAP with 22 players on the roster, cap friendly says they technically have $2.175 in space left with Brent Seabrook’s LTIR of $6.875 and they could use that to sign their last RFA Tanner Jeonnot who they paid a ton for last deadline…

So how couldn’t the Wild take on a LTIR contract to gain additional capspace?

Somebody please explain it to me for the last time and i’ll never bring it up again…

The way the rules are written now you technically could do just that. However.. The league figured that out and issued an order to all teams basically saying don’t even think about trying to game the system this way.

Here’s an article from the Athletic about this topic.

Seabrookes contact is what puts them over the cap. They can exceed the cap by $6.xx but that’s what his contract also costs them against the cap so it’s net zero

got it, that’s what I figured, but CapFriendly’s wording threw me off… much appreciated..

Very Happy with the Pat Maroon at $800k vs years of Reavo at over $1 million… Tampa fans are losing their $hit over this trade… He checks alot of the boxes of what was needed (locker room guy, fighter, playoff experience) he’s just missing anything that resembles speed for the 4th line…

GMBG should get an award for getting Tampa Bay of all teams to retain salary on a 4th liner…

Definitely one of those times where Tampa has everyone scratching their heads like WTF are they doing.

Not super stoked about Maroon buuuuutt judging this trade through the lens of Reavo @3x$1.35m or Fat Pat at 1xleague minimum… this is the greatest trade since Cam for Gus.

Looking at the Wild Prospect Development Camp roster that takes place this week a couple of things stuck out.

    1) Pavel Novak is back from beating cancer!
    2) Liam Ohgren grew and put on some serious weight/muscle!
    3) Yurov is alot lighter than I thought
    4) Our biggest D prospect (who will likely never make the Wild) is 6’2” and only weighs 183 lbs
    5) Our Forward Right/Left shooting is finally evening out…we used to be so LH focused

Players I’m most interested in seeing are:
    1) Yurov
    2) Lorenz
    3) Haight
    4) Heidt
    5) Stramel
    6) Ohgren
    7) Spacek

Didn’t maroon win cups like 3 years in a row and with different teams? If so I like it.

BG doubling down on his cup cred theory. Maroon doesn’t do anything for me but we basically gave up nothing for him so I’m fine with it.

He brings instant credibility to the locker room, if one of the young guys slacks off in practice or in a game, Pat will let them know about it… he’s also a goofball that will lighten the mood if needed..

He’ll be an instant hit in Minnesota

    yeah, just ask him….

That’s the only thing that I didn’t like about him, he constantly held up 3 fingers in most of the on ice celebration pictures when Tampa won…

He had some big goals in one of the series I believe.
