NHL 3v3 overtime is about as physical as Squirt B2

    LOL. Good one.

I noticed we ran with 4 forwards during the 4 on 3 where ek scored last night. Anyone see if we changed to rolling with 5 forwards during our 5on4s? Can’t remember which teams started doing it first the last couple seasons but I do recall it working for them.

5F powerplay is pretty rare. Panthers tried it a couple years ago when they had Girioux but that was with Ekblad hurt and their PP was atrocious those playoffs. Wild would be good candidate if Addison gets hurt or scratched again. Could slide Zuccy into his spot and hopefully Rossi into PP1.

Wild went 4F 4v3 almost all of last year and it worked well. I remember the Leafs and Jets doing it for a few years now. Really comes down to personnel and I think it makes sense for most teams unless they have a Makar or Fox or Dahlin or Hughes or Karlsson then obviously they go 3F1D.

Addison was in for the 5-4 powerplays.. I think Toronto has run 5 forwards at times, but they mostly use Morgan Reilly…

Ha! 17 games and he’s a legend. Do you think when he’s inducted in the HoF he’ll wear a Wild sweater?

Been reading about the Maroon signing. Seems like a replacement for Reaves, but could have really valuable experience come playoffs.

Watched a period of the KHL game CSKA vs Sochi this morning. While still short, Marat Khusnutdinov looks like he bulked up this offseason! He was the #2 center and went 3/5 on draws and drove the offense when he was on the ice. I’d guess he’ll either make the Wild out of camp or spend the start of the season in Iowa just getting familiar with the North American game before called up, he’s pretty polished already…

Mitchkov was sick so he wasn’t playing…

He ended up scoring Sochi’s only goal today…

Reaves is just runnin’ guys. Foligno and him dropped the gloves. Foligno whipped his helmet after the fight too lol

Marco showed everything (grit/strength/determination/high skill) to get his 1st goal, so happy for that kid!

Sweet drive to the net by Faber to start it though too, rookies are shining to start the season!

There will likely be some talk about GusBus getting a shutout then giving up 7… maybe 2 of those goals were on Gus… the rest can be pinned on soft defense…

I have done some significant analysis tonight and have concluded that the Leafs are a better team than the Wild.

He’s only the 5th player in NHL history to start the season with back to back hat tricks.

Rewatched the “highlights” of last nights game and my god did Goligoski/Merril/Middleton all play terrible…. Addison wasn’t that bad but paid dearly for an offensive pinch that went the other way for a goal, but it was already 6-3 so it didn’t matter…

7 goals against and Faber was +3, Brodin was +2, that hints to just how good they were, they even split them up for a bit to help the others…

Deano really tore into them in the postgame presser…

Still no word on Boldy, but I hope/suspect its just a mild shoulder separation…. Remember when GMBG hoped for no injuries early on to help with their cap… yeah not good…

Really good to see Rossi get one game after getting it taken away. I didn’t see the game last night but it’s really good to see him getting on the score sheet early. Looks like the hope might be back for him.

Anyone surprised to see Dean leave Gus in for that whole game? Wasn’t getting much help from the D but let in a couple softies it looked like from the highlights too.
