back to Wild talk…anybody else a little surprised how much Faber was involving himself in the offense this preseason? Leaving the point position for backdoor shot attempts, joining the rush on break outs, etc..It will be interesting to see if that carrys over into the regular season…based on his USNDTP and Gopher careers, any offense he can provide will be a bonus…

Ryan Carter also made a point that he thinks Brodin might pick up his offensive game with Dumba now gone, that one I have a hard time beleiving…

Awful nice of the Twins to get us to the day before opening night of hockey season. Usually a couple months in between them being relevant and the hockey season starting.

go do your thread investigation, I said since day 1 he would be Chicago’s allstar rep because they won’t have any other choice for many years, so he would be it by default…but say whatever to fit your narrative…lot of that going around in the world nowadays…

You want me to post it again? sure why not. There’s no narrative, just your words

Lets move on from the Bedard talk and have some season projections! Wild place second in the Division. KK with 50 goals. Rossi gets 30 pts. Get past the first round swept in Round 2.

Was a short but fun ride on the bandwagon! A little playoff success can bring a lot of new fans in.

I really wish NHL season started at least a few weeks earlier though. Hockey Playoff ending in June is awful.

Agree hockey playoffs shouldn’t be in z June said that for years.

Wonder who is in nets tonight? Hopefully Gus rolls early

I think we see a monster season by Kirill, 55+ goals and 110+ points…I think Hartman’s game will either fall apart (like he did the start of last year) or he reinjures his shoulder again early on and is replaced by Ek, Rossi takes over on the 2nd line and finishes with over 50 points. I think Faber answers all of the questions if he’s ready and becomes a top 4 D staple for the Wild for the next decade. I think Gus will have a period of games where he struggles and Flower comes in and saves the season, Gus gets his game back before the playoffs….I think Flower and Duhaime get traded by the deadline, Flower goes to either the Leafs or Devils because he wants 1 last shot at the cup before he retires and the Wild feel Wallstedt is ready to backup Gus the last month of the season… Duhaime because we won’t re-sign him next year and we have Iowa guys ready to take his spot…

Wild finish 2nd or 3rd in the Division, get past the 1st round but lose in 6 in the 2nd round…

Gus is starting game 1. They’ve said they will go closer to 50/50 the first half of the season and then then let the better goalie take the reins down the stretch.

More of a shoving match than a fight but Reavo kind of got tossed around by WiFi here. Kinda seemed like Reaves wasn’t expecting to fight and really wasn’t wanting to fight, like he’s checked out of fighting and just collecting a paycheck. Russo alluded to that a lot last year.

Reavo wants a long career AFTER hockey in the media (how good would it be if he replaced Carter on TNT?) i’d say his motivation now is to just not go down the dark hole most former NHL fighters do at the end of their careers…as you said, collect checks while they still hand them out…

I think Reaves would be good in the media. Very good addition.

That’s fair you can’t really blame the guy, just glad he’s not playing for the Wild. Agree he’ll be good in the media.

Gus is keeping them in this one so far. Looks like the same guy as last year.

Great pressure over the past few minutes! Nice to get the first one and see Faber get his first! Nice to have hockey back!

Kinda got blitzed out of the gate and most of the period there. L4 and D3 spent every single shift bottled up in the D zone

Faber on pace for 82 goals!!!!

Fiala on pace for 0 rotflol

Is it me or does Addison look like he’s just standing around again in the D zone? I was hoping to see a little more grit to him but I don’t think I did in that period.

Puck is bouncing everywhere, guys giving grenade passes to each other, lots of rust to chip away, thank goodness GusBus is razor sharp…

Faber and Brodin doing everything offense & defense out there..

That pair is gonna be a weapon this year. This whole game has been controlled by D pairs and unfortunately Wild only have 1 good pair
