I was happy to see Maroon go with Benn. He’s done whatever he’s wanted to against the team for far too long. Glad we have someone that won’t take his crap now.

We were at the game last night. A couple good fights and lots of big hits in the 3rd made for a exciting game.

October 8, 2023 at 1:20 pm #2228823Wow! Sounds like Marat K is going to get traded to the same team Mitchkov did! That would be great news since SKA has basically benched him all season…
October 9, 2023 at 6:44 pm #2229214So what are we thinking this season in the standings? Similar to last year? Mid tier playoff team?
Simply looking at the roster, I don’t see much for change from the last two seasons. I’ll go with third in the Central Division. Seems pretty reasonable.
October 9, 2023 at 7:10 pm #2229218if Kirill can stay healthy, they’ll always be a threat…Most think 3rd in the Central is where they’ll land, I think they get 2nd as the Stars had a magical OT point season last year that likely won’t happen again this year (similar to the Wild 2 years ago winning so many comebacks)
Then once the Playoffs start, its a crapshoot…I think Kirill finishes top 5 in scoring…

October 10, 2023 at 8:19 am #2229275it’s now official, Marat Khusnudinov has been traded to KHL’s Sochi team (same team Mitchkov was traded to) This is HUGE in terms of helping his development as he gets out of the gong show SKA team this season….It would be cool to see if he ends up centering Mitchkov… it looks like he signed a new 1 year deal for this season that expires April 30th 2024 (kinda strange he didn’t keep his SKA contract, but maybe that’s a KHL thing?)

It’s now official

I thought Russo was done with the Wild after last season?

OMG you got me…you deserve an “A” on your IDO account

That’s what a lot of people were afraid of, but so far its awesome having 2 guys.
October 10, 2023 at 10:35 am #2229345Per Cesar’s Sportbook, here are the odds for every team to win the Stanley Cup on the opener. Happy hockey season.
Hurricanes 8-1
Maple Leafs, Devils 9-1
Avalanche 10-1
Golden Knights 12-1
Rangers 13-1
Stars 14-1
Panthers, Bruins 16-1
Lightning 20-1
Kings, Penguins 28-1
Wild 30-1
Kraken, Sabres, Flames 35-1
Senators 40-1
Jets, Islanders 50-1
Canucks 60-1
Blues, Preds, Red Wings, Caps 75-1
Blue Jackets, Flyers 150-1
Blackhawks 200-1
Coyotes, Sharks, Ducks, Canadiens 250-1tswobodaPosts: 8723October 10, 2023 at 10:50 am #2229357Lotta teams from the East on top considering they all have to go through each other and the West has the last 2 cups. I’ll take the Avalanche again.
For the Wild it’s copy/paste from last year. 100ish point team finish 2/3 in the Central. Hope for some health and luck in the playoffs.
They’ll need someone(s) to step up and surprise everyone again to get to 100+ pts. Last year it was Gus, year before it was Foligno/Hartman and really all the forwards having career scoring years. What will it be this year? I’ll go with Faber and Rossi being impact players and both in the Calder conversation.
October 10, 2023 at 11:23 am #2229367Kirill talking to the media soon (11:30) on the Wild’s Youtube channel…
October 10, 2023 at 11:37 am #2229382must be so fun for Leaf & Lightning fans to know they will play each other 8 months from now…

I’d say the same about Wild and Stars.
So who you got winning the Atlantic then? It’s never been more wide open for the Leafs.

I think Boston is still the top of that Division due to goaltending, but losing Bergeron will hurt alot…I think lackluster goalie play will keep the Leafs in check…and also slow Tampa down until Vasey is back…
The big question for me in the East is will this FINALLY be the year Carolina plays to their potential? I think it is and I have them in the Finals from the East…
The West is a toss-up, I want to say Edmonton outscores it’s way to the finals, but if Vegas’s goalie Aden Hill is the real deal all season, they will be tough to beat again…
October 10, 2023 at 12:26 pm #2229406How many games in until we see MAF get his fight?? He sure was close last year with binnington. Wouldn’t surprise me if this is the year.

Hopefully Foligno and Maroon have been teaching him how to get a good hold quickly, I don’t see Flower doing very well in an actual fight…
When’s the first Wild vs Blues game? You know they want to get into Binners kitchen again…

11/28 in St. Paul. Could be an interesting season if it happens in their first meeting. Imagine an opening round playoff series if it does happen.
October 10, 2023 at 12:50 pm #2229419lol, Vegas couldn’t decide on choosing who wears their final “A” that they are splitting it, William Karlsson will wear it for home games, Eichel will wear it for road games…never heard of that before…
tswobodaPosts: 8723October 10, 2023 at 4:01 pm #2229486Don’t the Rangers have like 5 guys wearing A’s – I always see memes about it anyway
And I thought the Wild rotated the C at one time

league rules are 1C and 2A’s or 3 A’s per game… Wild rotated the C for the early years, Koivu was their first full time Captain I believe…
October 10, 2023 at 6:39 pm #2229511How do you think the phone call started between Tampa & Nashville GM’s regarding their Tanner Jeannot trade last year? I mean how the hell do they ultimately get to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th round picks return for HIM?
tswobodaPosts: 8723October 10, 2023 at 7:19 pm #2229515ESPN still doing the cringey ref intros on opening night lol those are so awkward.
Oh and Sid snapped it back on Bedard… what a bust.

I always pictured Poile doing the “and then” from dude where’s my car and Brisebois just couldn’t stop adding draft picks.
RipjiggenPosts: 11844October 10, 2023 at 7:34 pm #2229517Lol, NHL will fine Bedard for not wearing a helmet in warmups…
I am always surprised it’s not mandatory whenever I go to a game and watch warmups. Mainly because of the ricochet factor.
