We’ll just blame it on his sore ankle..

Can we talk about our power play percentage yet?

1st game they are going against actual opponents…first 2 pp’s were really goid with tons of chances…
It looks like there’s more movement by the 4 forwards and a focus on getting pucks to the net quicker…

Gongshow all around… Flower had more hits in the shootout than Maroon did all game…

Was thinking how fat pat was pretty invisible right up until he scored. Nice play by Rossi there but the pride of Andover kind of left it on a platter for him, sorry Musky. First time really watching Kaiser in NHL action and he looked a little rough around the edges but the skating strength and compete are undeniable.

Evason on Spurgeon: “It’s not positive, but we’ll get a better evaluation tomorrow.”:???:

was it mentioned on the game broadcast that Hartman was wearing the “A” tonight???

This was the opening night roster, kinda strange they would still be switching it around right? So did he get it over Ek or Kirill?

Yeah I’ll have to give him a hard time about that. I didn’t see the game but heard that rossi picked someone’s pocket and said please don’t let it be Wyatt LOL. He’s a cocky sucker but good kid. He told me straight to my face he’s a better skater than brodin. I told him to slow his roll down a bit until he gets on the ice with the best in the world.

Maybe looked a little awkward but no idea what would be hurt here. The Faber hit looked 100x more dangerous

I’d guess its some type of core injury, after the hit it Looked like he could push off fine with both legs and if he tore/broke something upper body he’d likely be hunched over and not skating into the oppostie corner with the guy???

He also whiffed on a OneT in overtime that had like 4 different camera angles and slow motion because the pass came from Bedard. Some level of arrogance is needed to go out and compete at that level so that’s not really surprising and it’s pretty obvious the kid can really skate.

Speaking of “kids” we should do a kid and son counter on Wes Walz this year lol could make for a hell of a drinking game.

Still rotating it for preseason, they won’t hand it out without a big announcement. When Zuccy wore the A for the winter classic BG said that it was either him or Hartman, so Hartman will be in the mix to wear a letter during injuries… maybe holding it ransom until he signs a contract lol.

My money is still on Kaprizov just like it has been for almost a year now, or at least that’s who I think it should go to. Not that it really matters. Maybe now they won’t announce it for awhile if Spurgeon is out??

I was thinking moreso Ek getting the A. Kirill is definitely the face of the franchise though but Ek is the only guy to get a max term deal isnt he?

I ask because it sounded like the decion was going to be made at their Duluth team outing??

I’d be happy with Kirill or Ek, both will be part of the leadership team in the future so its just a matter of time before they start wearing something…

I’d give the nod to Kirill just as another way of hopefully getting him to want to stay in MN…doing whatever they can to help that decision should be the franchise’s #1 objective the next few years…

Plenty of good options for the A and really not sure it matters, just fun to guess about it.

Sounds like Spurgeon is out a few weeks, not a great way to start the season. They have no RHD options so guessing they bring up Mermis and carry 5 LHD and 2 RHD. That puts them in LTIR as soon as they call up a 13th forward.

Not good news regarding Spurgeon, but the Hawks were gooning it up a lot last night from I have been reading.

I don’t know Spurgeon kind of turned into that one and got caught by a guy focusing on the body. The Faber play looked awful but pretty sure 100% accidental.

Either way they’re basically left with a top pairing and two bottom pairs for the first few weeks of the season, not great.

I was more thinking the time behind the net where the guy tore off KKs helmet and then another guy was like mugging his face. I did love the Fleury trips in the shootout that was hilarious!

it looked like Maroon was challenging a couple of Hawks near the end of the game and they didn’t want it…I guess its kind of pointless to get hurt fighting in the preseason for a team playing all their starters… no Iowa scrubs to goon it up with…

Yurov had 2 PP assists today, Marat K was benched again…good lord we need Lou Nanne to sneak him out of Russia asap, how much development can he get just from a year of KHL practices??

Sounds like Hartman deal is imminent and rumors are its 3 years around $4M. I didnt see that from Russo however so take it for what its worth.

hmmm, I would have thought Hartman would have demanded alot more term than just 3 years, especially for taking such a discount on his last deal… if true he needs to hire Foligno’s agent…

$4aav x 3 years is now official for Hartman… I’d rather it was reversed, this deal makes Foligno’s 4 year term look worse imo…

Really surprised he didn’t hold out for more term… He really must love playing here…

For a league that’s leaning to younger & faster players, the Wild is going the other direction the next few years…

They literally had 5 forwards under contract next year before the signings with pretty much only Walker and maybe Beckmen in the pipeline. Not sure what the expectation but finding 7 FA forwards isn’t exactly easy to do.

Solid game for the Wild tonight. Setting the stage for a scrappy season series with the Stars.

Nice game by Rossi! PP looked better, 4th line looks like it will be fun to watch…
